  • This is a beautiful, cozy house in a truly convenient location in West Hartford. It is walking distance to the center of West Hartford as well as Elizabeth Park. For much of my stay, I had the house to myself. When she was around, Janet was friendly and very welcoming while still leaving me plenty of space to cook, eat, relax, and work.

On the whole, a great stay!

    Response from Janet:

Brendan - I'm so sorry about the food in the fridge. I was away, and I'm assuming an earlier guest must have left something there and my daughter didn't notice it when she came to do the "clean up" between guests. I will try to make sure that doesn't happen again! We really loved having you, and I'm glad that I had a chance to meet you before you left.

  • The owner was not in town when we visited. Her daughter, who I thinks lives nearby, was very prompt in addressing everything that was needed.
The house is beautiful, kitchen is gorgeous.
The mattress for us was too soft, bed is "smallish, not very comfortable for two, especially if one of you is tall. But we managed fine.
Location is great if you need to be close to West Hartford.

    Response from Janet:

The bed is a queen-sized bed. Usually, this is quite comfortable for two people. I currently have no pets and haven't had any pets for quite a few years. I did have a cat at one time; however, the house has been professionally cleaned many times since then.

    Response from Janet:

Rob and Ron - Thanks for the feedback. I knew about the towel bar near the sink and fixed it as well as I could. Clearly, I need someone else to do a better job! The dark blue towels are new - will take your advice! Thanks. Janet

  • Could not have been more wonderful! Janet's home is lovely, very clean and so comfortable. The bed was the best! One cold afternoon, we relaxed with our sister and brother-in-law in Janet's living room and enjoyed tea we brewed in her kitchen. I HIGHLY recommend a stay at Janet's home.

  • Janet was a phenomenal host! I stayed at her place during the first stages of my move to the area. Her, her her daughter, and her son in law's kind nature and positive spirit made for a seamless transition to the area and extremely pleasant stay at her home. I would recommend her as a host to anyone spending time in the Hartford area.
