You will love this Room too! We put out a variety of foods and drinks in the kitchen for breakfast for whenever you decide to rise and shine, there is something for everyone. The sun rises outside the kitchen window that offers a pleasant view and is peaceful and relaxing!
The house is on top of a small neighborhood hill and is located a couple of blocks from the Larkspur Trail (see photos of the Larkspur Trail above). From the room you look out into and over the trees and sky and the sun sets in this part of the sky in the spring and summer. From your yard you can see Hikers at the top of Pilot Butte State Park, a short walk from your room to the Trail head.
The Spacious Private Master Bedroom, Attached Full Bath with double sinks, Walk-in Closet, Private Patio, and Yard are clean, peaceful and relaxing. Queen Bed and Refrigerator, Electric Fireplace, desk, and New Samsung HD Smart TV with Direct TV in your room.

From your room & private yard you can access the Larkspur trail a couple of blocks away and choose to go North or South we are about in the middle of the trail. A few minutes walk to the North takes you to Pilot Butte State Park where you might want to hike up and start your day for the best views of the city, all the mountains, and forest as far as the eye can see, or for a great sunset. It is a 500 foot elevation gain. A self-guided historical tour and landmark information located on top also. If you walk briskly you can get to the top of the Butte and back to your room in under an hour, if you take your time and stop to take in the sights it will probably be about a 2 hour hike.
There are Two main trails to the top of the Butte. The paved road and the more scenic rustic path with beautiful views and lookouts with Vista Seating along the way. I suggest taking the rustic path on the way up and taking the paved path on the way down. (You Can drive up too but it is Seasonal, road close to cars in the Winter and you can walk on the pavement. In the summer you will walk on the shoulder of the road, not paved. Also in the Winter if it has been snowing there can be snow and ice on the North side of the Butte when you get higher up but it is walkable all the way to the top if you have the right shoes. Some people use the slip-on Yaktrax on their shoes and if you decide not to go to the top you still get a good walk with nice views!
If you decide to take the Larkspur Trail to the South it will take you to Larkspur Park, (see pics), about a mile walk from the house. A short walk from Larkspur Park is the new Bend Rock Gym if you want to learn to rock climb or sharpen your skills, they have a state of the art facility and have classes, clinics, summer camps on all types of climbing and more and have the highest indoor climbing in the state at 48 feet high, visit their website. Then when you are ready you can head over to Smith Rock for world class climbing experience or a beautiful hike or just have a picnic and watch the pros climb.
Also, from the house, walk, bike, or drive to the beautiful 22 acre Juniper Park where Juniper Swim & Fitness Center is located. Features Indoor/Outdoor Olympic 50 meter Pool, 25 meter Indoor Pool, 3,000 square foot fitness center, Machines, Weight Room, Cycling Studio, Group Exercise Rooms, Yoga, Pilates, Personal Trainers, Hot Tub, Sauna, Steam Room, and more. Please have a great stay and enjoy Bend!
We have been married for 40 years and have been living in wonderful Bend for 15 years and hosting on Airbnb for 5 years! We enjoy living so close to everything Bend has to offer, everything is at our fingertips here! It’s just the right sized town, ten minutes or less drive gets you to so many things that Bend has to offer, about two miles to beautiful Downtown Bend, Drake Park on the River, The Old Mill, and many other great places to go for wide varieties of things to do. We also have parks, shops, restaurants, trails, and more, even closer to home. (See our guidebook / maps for a sample) We take our dog “Ollie” to beautiful Riverbend Park where he can play fetch and swim in the River with his buddies, located across from the Old Mill and then hang out at the large grass area there and watch people float, raft, or paddle the river in many interesting ways. It’s a great place to eat lunch or dinner and relax and I love to hike from there up along the river trail (see photo), you can hike several miles along the river and see many interesting sites along the way, it is just one of so many fantastic experiences that are so close to home. As if there weren't enough great things to see and do right here in town, when you venture out of town a whole other world opens up. There isn't enough room on the page to describe it all. (We have brochures, literature, and maps with great photographs that you can browse through here in your room while you are relaxing and settling in for your stay). A hike up to the top of Pilot Butte is something I like to do to keep in shape and enjoy the 360 degree panoramic vistas of Oregon as far as the eye can see. It looks like a long way away to the top from our house but you can walk there and back in about an hour and enjoy the best views of the city, mountains, and forest as far as the eye can see (500 ft elevation gain). It’s a good way to start the day or for a great sunset. Or you can drive up in a couple of minutes. (Spring, Summer, Fall). So, we love our pets, Linda loves to cook, and we love to garden and landscape, design & decorate. We like to just hang out at different sitting areas around the house and play fetch with Ollie again.
We have made some great friends and had many good times hosting on Airbnb over the last few years and are looking forward to this year! It has been an enriching and rewarding experience for us and many of our guests tell us the same thing. We always enjoy meeting people from around the country, and the globe!
“Enjoy, Live, Relax" We try to keep it simple!
