We rented this place for our wedding guests and they were so happy about the accommodation! It is excellent condition throughout with everything required so it feels like at home.
Vidiya and Berni were extremely helpful giving us a small tour prior check-in explaining how it all works and were always available via phone when we had couple of small queries.
Cannot rate this place high enough!!!
Will definitely book it next we have guests coming to visit us!
I stayed at Vidiya's for a month. Once you get used to a loud repeating sound the house makes during the evening it has no problems. There is a shop just 3 minutes by walking where you can buy anything for your daily needs. Towels and basic supplies were provided by the host. If you don't mind the location (2 hours to central London) this is a great place to stay.
We have arrived back in the UAE this morning, having spent our one month annual holiday at Vidiya and Bernie's wonderful home in Rickmansworth. Our stay was just perfect in every way, and I was delighted to see that all rooms in the house were exactly as they are in the pictures - just what it says on the tin :) We were greeted on arrival by Vidiya and Bernie's daughter Anne-Marie, and she had even asked us if there was any food shopping she could do for us before our arrival, and we were greeted with a bowl of fruit and some home-baked brownies! The house is perfect for couples and small families who are looking for a quieter holiday, away from the hustle and bustle of the city - but my husband was delighted in equal measure with the easy links to Central London from Rickmansworth Tube Station which was a short 10 minute drive up the road. I cannot recommend Vidiya and Bernie's house (and hospitality!) enough, and I very much hope we will be welcomed back for our annual holiday next year :)
Berny was very helpful and kind and when we arrived after a long flight she was there waiting and even bought for us provisions. It was lovely.
Berny explained to us shortly about the house and then gave us a "guided tour" of the area, showing us points of interest, shopping places and gave us excellent tips.
The house itself is great - quiet, well equipped and cozy, great returning to after long days outside. We wanted a place to be like home and we cerainly had it.
The main drawback had to do with the exceptioanlly warm weather we had when we were there. The house has no AC or any other, even basic, means of cooling as many houses in England and in Ehurope.
Vidyia and Bernie's house is simply amazing! It surpassed all of our expectations! An extremely cozy house, and very comfortable, it had everything we needed to make our stay very pleasent! We really felt at home! Although we could not meet Vidyia personally, Bernie received us when we arrived and even went to see us before we left. She also gave me a quick tour around Ricky, which is a lovely town, you can find everything you need in less than a 10 minute walk. Bernie, you are the best! We had a small issue with the shower, which Vidyia and Bernie helped us in a very short time! I'd stay here again and again and again! And I reccomend this place to everyone, it is more than you can see in the photographs! Thanks Vidyia and Bernie for having us!
Great small house pleasant and adapted to the family (bathtub and washing machine) in a quiet district.
We liked finding milk, fruit juices and fresh fruit upon our arrival.
Me and my brother had a wonderful stay and Vidiya and Bernies house. The house was well equipped and was perfect for what we needed. The beds were comfortable and we felt right at home for the month that we stayed. There is a Marks and Spencer express close by which is great to pop in and get the essentials. The underground station is a 20 minute walk away, which can sometimes feel a bit far, but there is a bus stop close by which can take you there in 5 minutes.
Vidiya and Bernie were both really helpful and we would certainly recommend their house for short to long term stays.
I stayed at Bernie & Vidiya's apartment in Rickmansworth for one month whilst working on a TV Film. They were very friendly and helpful hosts, their apartment was very clean & comfortable with all the amenities you would have at home. The sunny garden was a welcome sanctuary at the end of a long week. Rickmansworth is positioned well for commuting being close to the M25, M40 and the North Circular Road, and is a pleasant town to wander around and shop in. There are plenty of local pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the apartment. I didn't use public transport but there seemed to be plenty of options available. I would certainly recommend the apartment for both work and leisure purposes.
The place was great and Bernie was very accommodating. The park across the way is really beautifu, and the whole bus connection to the train is very simple. Bernie even drove us to the train station the day we had to leave! How gracious! Thanks so much.
A beautiful area with very nice neighbors. Great restaurants and natural areas to visit very close nearby, however the property itself has a lot of cheap components. Also be careful not to leave doors open because the draft makes them close by themselves, and my boyfriend and I had been alarmed several times during the night! The house makes a LOT of noise, but depending on however long your stay is you'll have to get used to it- it's very quiet otherwise and the neighbors are considerate. The electric shower has no water pressure when used on warm ( I'm not really sure I understand having an electric shower), but works well if you'd prefer being a little cold!
A few miles away you can find several lakes with lots of swans and opportunities for picnicking. It's a lush area with lots of flowers and wild blackberries- and the house itself is situated where you can see a lot of outside cats and squirrels roaming around outside. Also magpies!
Be careful not to make any mistakes while recycling or you might be charged an expensive extra rate.
This is the final rate, including any fees from the host and Airbnb.
