About this listing
Cozy up to the fireplace for a relaxing evening in the heart of everything San Luis. This charming 600 sq ft upstairs apartment in a small tri-plex is perfectly located just 2 short blocks to beautiful, lively downtown San Luis Obispo. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, unique shops, the Mission, wine tasting, art viewing and the famous farmers market on Thursday night and less than one mile to Cal Poly.
The space is stylishly decorated, comfortable and selectively furnished, leaving you lots of room to sprawl, enjoy the art and make yourself at home. The full kitchen/dining is stocked with everything you need for cooking meals if you choose as well as a list of our personal, local favorite restaurants and coffee shops to experience if you would rather head out and explore our town’s numerous dining options. As the evening winds down you will likely want to curl up next to the fireplace on the comfy couch to watch a movie or call it a night cuddling up in the sublimely comfortable California king bed, welcoming you with a sumptuous down comforter and soft cotton bedding for a quite nights sleep. Upon awakening, we have a drip coffee funnel with filters, grinder etc. to whip up a wicked “pour over” cup o’ joe as well as a variety of teas and an electric kettle for boiling water. Coffee shops are also 2 blocks away. The bathroom has a tub and shower, hair dryer and all your showering amenities. There is a laundry room downstairs if you need to do some washing for your longer stays. Ideally the apartment sleeps two but we can fit an extra (smallish) person on the 6’ couch if needed, there is also an air mattress and extra bedding available if requested.

Lorna's apartment is quaint and perfect for two. Centrally located we walked to most meals out which was great. The apartment has all you'll need, very thoughtfully supplied and the bed and pillows were super! Our own parking spot was wonderful as was our entire stay.
This was my first Airbnb experience and it was a very positive one! The apartment was very charming and spacious, not to mention in a fantastic location only about 3 block from the heart of town. The bed was very comfortable and I really appreciated that Lorna went out of her way to furnish the place with everything you could need, from lotions to coffee grounds to ear plugs- the apartment had it all. Something to be aware of for light sleepers- the apartment is set back from a busy street but because their is no AC (which is very common in SLO because of the nice breeze and cool nights), you have to leave the windows open so it gets a little noisy when cars and motorcycles go by. As long as you wear earplugs, you should be fine.
Thank you Lorna for a wonderful first Airbnb experience. I would absolutely stay at this fantastic apartment again!
This place is absolutely amazing! Really centrally located and Lorna is really responsive. Would definitely return.
Loved staying at Lorna's apartment with my husband and our 3-month-old this summer. We're both Cal Poly grads and look forward to making a trip back to SLO every year, and Lorna's spot was perfect now that we have a little one in tow. Within perfect strolling distance of downtown or campus, and since most of our dinners were takeout due to the babe's early bedtime, the assortment of restaurants right up the block was great. (Pastor + carnitas tacos at the taqueria were great, and Raku Ramen is decently close to Bay Area ramen in quality and flavor but without the wait!). The apartment, itself, was just as charming as it appears in the pics -- and probably even a little more spacious than it looks. Would totally stay here again. :)
This was a great place, with a very walkable location into downtown. There were a ton of little details that made us feel right at home. We spent two days here and were very comfortable.
I have used Lorna's place twice in the past couple months. Once with my fiance to do some wedding planning and another time she graciously let our photographers to stay during our wedding. The apartment was clean, quaint, and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. It was perfect!
The Apartment was lovely, and it was close to town. You could walk to restaurants, etc. The Host was very hospitable as well.

About the Host, Lorna
Born and raised in the hills of southeast Ohio I landed here in SLO with my South African surfer husband 22 years ago. We love living in this beautifully rural yet sophisticated town. Together we are raising three wonderful children and working as a local business owner of a wellness center and I am an artist and designer, passionate about creating beautiful spaces that function well and feel good, I am excited to share my passion with the guests who stay with us. My mother, Heike lives next door in the small tri-plex. She is a wonderful german lady who taught me about “beautifying” the world. She is an amazing cook, gardener, caretaker and an all around lovely, quiet person who recently moved here from Ohio to make her home in San Luis Obispo. You will most likely find her strolling around her little garden should you have any immediate questions or needs.
