Cozy up to the fireplace for a relaxing evening in the heart of everything San Luis. This charming 600 sq ft upstairs apartment in a small tri-plex is perfectly located just 2 short blocks to beautiful, lively downtown San Luis Obispo. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, unique shops, the Mission, wine tasting, art viewing and the famous farmers market on Thursday night and less than one mile to Cal Poly.
The space is stylishly decorated, comfortable and selectively furnished, leaving you lots of room to sprawl, enjoy the art and make yourself at home. The full kitchen/dining is stocked with everything you need for cooking meals if you choose as well as a list of our personal, local favorite restaurants and coffee shops to experience if you would rather head out and explore our town’s numerous dining options. As the evening winds down you will likely want to curl up next to the fireplace on the comfy couch to watch a movie or call it a night cuddling up in the sublimely comfortable California king bed, welcoming you with a sumptuous down comforter and soft cotton bedding for a quite nights sleep. Upon awakening, we have a drip coffee funnel with filters, grinder etc. to whip up a wicked “pour over” cup o’ joe as well as a variety of teas and an electric kettle for boiling water. Coffee shops are also 2 blocks away. The bathroom has a tub and shower, hair dryer and all your showering amenities. There is a laundry room downstairs if you need to do some washing for your longer stays. Ideally the apartment sleeps two but we can fit an extra (smallish) person on the 6’ couch if needed, there is also an air mattress and extra bedding available if requested.

We had a wonderful, comfortable stay at Lorna's place in SLO. Everything was just as pictured, and more. Nice extra touches, too, like her personal artwork (she's very talented) and you can't beat the great location.
We hope the place is available for our future visits to SLO :-)
Lorna was an incredible host! Extremely friendly and easy to communicate with, and check-in was a cinch. She left us goodies in the fridge, which we enjoyed (it was so thoughtful- thank you!), as well as a hardcover book of her personal favorite spots in SLO. We were very impressed by all of the details that Lorna considers that made us feel both at home and cared for. It's not by accident that Lorna is a Super Host!
As far as her Midtown SLO apartment, the interior was stylish and chic, and it had beautiful natural light. Central Coast Brewing, shopping + restaurants on Higuera Street and other places to check out were all very walkable. The next time that we visit SLO, we would absolutely stay again!
We really enjoyed our stay in SLO. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It's in a great location, we walked to coffee in the morning and dinner at night.
All in all we had a great family weekend visiting our college kids.
Thank you for your hospitality.
Lorna was super accommodating and helpful. We didn't get to interact face-to-face much, but even over text message (even though it was her birthday) she was super responsive.
I needed to arrive early than check-in time and she was great at accommodating us.
If you are in the SLO area and want to stay in a great location, make sure to book with Lorna. You can walk downtown in less than 5 minutes and you are a stone's throw away from so many cute and cool restaurants, bars, shops, etc.
This was a really great place to stay. The apartment is just as pictured. Clean and comfortable, tastefully decorated, quiet yet close to downtown. Not one thing to complain about, everything needed and more. Lorna was a wonderful host. I would happily stay again and will recommend to any of my friends going to San Louis Obispo.
We had 5 enchanting days in San Luis Obispo at Lorna's sweet little apartment. Everything is perfect about this place...Perfectly stocked kitchen with just a bit of everything you need and even a lovely bottle of wine waiting when we arrived. A short, lovely 2 blocks to the amazing large downtown area with bars, restaurants, theaters and more. We left after 5 days wishing we could stay longer to hit more of the wonderful restaurants and breweries.
Fifteen minutes away is Pismo Beach and Oceana. Beautiful California Coastal Towns with charms all their own. You can drive right on the beach is Pismo (the only beach like it in California). We took coastal hikes including some amazing one through the dunes.
As well, 15 minutes in another direction you can visit Morro Bay, another remarkable beachside community.
In the college town of SLO there are endless things to do. We hiked the volcanic hills everyday. Visited the Mission, some museums, went wine tasting and that was all on foot from Lorna's apartment.
I had one slight difficulty, the internet is very slow and it comes and goes. If you need to do work you will have to visit a place with internet.
Give yourself a treat and go stay at this little gem in SLO.
Lorna, wonderful apartment - 50's feel. Great location, quiet and very comfortable.

Born and raised in the hills of southeast Ohio I landed here in SLO with my South African surfer husband 22 years ago. We love living in this beautifully rural yet sophisticated town. Together we are raising three wonderful children and working as a local business owner of a wellness center and I am an artist and designer, passionate about creating beautiful spaces that function well and feel good, I am excited to share my passion with the guests who stay with us. My mother, Heike lives next door in the small tri-plex. She is a wonderful german lady who taught me about “beautifying” the world. She is an amazing cook, gardener, caretaker and an all around lovely, quiet person who recently moved here from Ohio to make her home in San Luis Obispo. You will most likely find her strolling around her little garden should you have any immediate questions or needs.
