The Space

If you are booking a stay that begins more than 90 days from the date of your booking, you may ask us for a reduced deposit of 30 % of the total amount owed. This option must be requested BEFORE you pay and accept the booking. We will send you the special offer of the reduced down payment of 30 % after which you can accept that offer and make your payment. You can then pay the balance of 70% of your stay 30 days before your check in date.

We accept a minimum of 3 nights stay. If there are openings of 2 nights in between stays, then we will accept a 2 nights stay.

We are 10-15 minutes drive from downtown Estes Park. There are many walking trails right outside our home with fishing, boating and horseback riding within 10 minutes. Enjoy beautiful sunsets from our new 2 sides wraparound decking and grill burgers for dinner after hiking. We have spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains in a quiet setting. Up to 8 people can be accommodated and the whole house is yours for your entire stay.
We have installed a brand new state of the art hot tub on the back patio of our home with 35 massage jets for guests to enjoy. It seats 7 people and is excellent to soothe your muscles after a great hike in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Guest Access

Comfy pillow top or memory foam beds, brand new appliances and refrigerator. There is a split system a/c for use in the daytime on hot summer days for the main area of the home that cools the 2 adjacent bedrooms, living and dining area and the loft bedroom. Sit by the beautiful warmth of our state of the art fireplace in winter or cold nights in our living room. The main level (2nd level) has a full bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub in it, 2 vessel sinks on granite surface and a shower and toilet. The smaller loft bathroom has a shower, a vessel sink and toilet. LG washer and dryer is in the small 4th bedroom walk-in closet on the first level that has a day bed with 2 twin beds. There is an electric massage chair in the 4th bedroom that you can use after a tiring hike. The 4th and 5th bedroom downstairs have access to the full bathroom with a basin, shower and toilet located in the garage. We have spices in the kitchen that we use and you are welcome to use them during your stay. All kitchen and dining accessories that we personally use are provided. There is a Bose CD player/radio and CD collection in the main level kitchen area for your listening enjoyment. There are 3 HD TV's with DVD and satellite for the evenings, and to watch movies that we have in the cupboard by the fireplace. The TV's are 40-inch (family room), 26-inch in the main bedroom and 52-inch in my daughter's bedroom. There is an new outdoor grill that we store in the garage for grilling on summer days. There is a small downstairs bedroom by the entry door and it has 2 single beds in there. Again the small bathroom for the downstairs bedrooms is in the garage through the door to the garage. It has a sink, toilet and shower. You can park your car under the deck or on the large concrete area in front of the house.

There are 3 binders we have on the coffee table. The 1st goes over the home and the use of the appliances and safety instructions. The 2nd goes over dining in the area. The 3rd goes over activities that are available in the area to do during different seasons. Please call us and e-mail us if you have any questions that you are having difficulty with. We have left a visitors welcome guide to the home and to the surrounding area for your reference and they cover the most frequently asked questions. This is our vacation home so when we are not here we rent it out. But our neighbors right next door keep an eye on the home and we can have them take care of any situation that may arise. You can also call us on our cell phone and e-mail us.
Once the reservation is made, we will send you a standard Vacation Rental Lease agreement by Docusign for you to initial and sign electronically. It will automatically be returned by e-mail to us. It has all the rules and instructions that will be necessary for a mutually pleasant stay and experience at our home.

The Neighborhood

Frequently asked BOOKING questions:
1.) What will I be paying? The total amount of your stay including Airbnb fees, cleaning fees, taxes, maintenance of the spa, one time snow plowing, utilities etc are shown when you enter your booking days and the number of people. That is the amount that will be charged to your credit card by Airbnb. Follow the simple booking steps and make your booking using your credit card.

2.) Is my money safe? Yes it is. Airbnb holds the amount charged until 24 hrs AFTER you check in. We get paid 24 hrs after you check in. This ensures that you are checking in to a decent accommodation before we get paid.

3.) What about the security deposit? The security deposit is held on your credit card as a damage insurance. The amount is NOT included in the amount owed for the reservation. The additional security deposit is held SEPARATELY on your credit card just as when you check into a hotel or rent a car. That amount is voided 48 hrs after you check out and no damage has been reported by us to Airbnb.

4.) I would like to pay a reduced down payment to make my reservation. Kindly let us know right at the START of your conversation with us that you would like to choose this option. It is available if you are booking more than 90 days before your scheduled arrival date. We will then tweek the website to accept a 1 to 3 night reservation and once you accept the special offer sent to you, we will then block the remaining nights of your booking for you. The balance of your payment will be due 30 days before your scheduled arrival date. The down payment is non refundable. It is reusable for another date. Kindly ask for the special offer only if you are 100% sure you will be making the booking as we have to change the website settings temporarily and then reset it back to the 3 nights minimum stay. So we ask that you please make the booking the same day once we send you the special offer.

5.) Why am I paying a slightly higher amount if I do the reduced down payment of 30%? Airbnb charges a booking fee for every reservation made. That amount is typically 6 - 12 % of the reservation amount. You pay a higher percentage on the lower 30% down payment. You will pay a second Airbnb booking fees on the other 70% when you pay the balance thirty days prior to your scheduled arrival date. You make the choice of what route of payment you wish to proceed with.

6.) What about your cancelation policy? We have a strict cancellation policy. That means you will get a 50% refund up until 1 week before your scheduled arrival date less the Airbnb booking fees. If it's less than a week, you will not get any refund. However, we do understand that unforseen circumstances do arise and therefore we will allow you to reuse your money for another date within a year of your original scheduled arrival date at the price for the specific dates requested provided we are able to book your dates with other guests. So we ask that you please be 100% sure before making your booking. In the unlikely event that you have to reschedule your visit, we ask that you please inform us immediately to give us enough time to rebook our home. You can make only a single change in case you have to change your scheduled arrival date.

7.) Why do I see a larger amount being charged for the reservation? The full total amount due includes the Airbnb booking fees which varies between 4% to 12% of the reservation amount. The lower percentage is for larger amounts and the higher percentage is for smaller amounts as already explained clearly on the Airbnb website.

8.) Is there a charge for extra people? Yes, there is. You are not charged for up to a total of 4 guests. Any additional guests above 4 people will be charged an additional $25 per person, per night. The amount owed will show on your screen when you enter the correct number of people along with the dates requested. Our neighbors have direct views of our home and they do a head count when we are not around and inform us as to the total number of people in the house. We have also installed cameras with infrared detection to monitor the house from all entrances to the house in order to prevent any misunderstanding as to how many people are checking in and preventing people from abusing the system and misinforming us as to the total number of guests checking in. 99% of our guests are honest and decent people. However we do this for the 1% who may try and abuse the system.

9.) Is there a limit as to how many people can stay? Yes. A maximum of 8 guests are allowed per county vacation rental rules and fire department and safety rules. Any person who breaks this rule will be subject to eviction and will forfeit all monies paid and will be liable for any fines imposed by the county and homeowners association.

10.) Is your home accessible in winter? Yes. This is a log HOME and NOT a cabin. It is built for 24/7 living in all seasons of solid full logs and completely insulated with heating, cooling and all water and sewer hook ups to the City of Estes Park. A paved road leads to our home and a concrete drive way leads up a small hill to the house. We are in a subdivision of Carriage Hills.

11.) Do I need a 4 wheel drive in winter? Yes. The department of public safety recommends a 4 wheel drive in winter for safe driving in the snow during winter from November to April and sometimes in May for the occasional late snow showers. You may have difficulty driving up our driveway or in the mountains if you come in a 2 wheel drive.

12.) How much snow can I expect? It starts snowing in Estes Park usually by late November till late April. Occasionally we get earlier snow showers in early November and late snow showers up till the end of May, but it usually melts within 24 to 48 hrs. Several feet of snow can be expected as accumulation from January till late April.

13.) Can I ski and build a snow man? Yes. You should be able to build a snow man by Xmas all the way through the end of April. You can cross country ski in the Rocky Mountain National Park from January till April. The amount of snow we get is usually less than high country areas so always be ready for the unexpected as weather is highly unpredictable. If you are unable to ski or go tubing down the parks hills, there are many other things you can do to enjoy yourself in this stunning environment!

14.) What about the sleeping arrangements? There are 5 bedrooms / sleeping areas in the house. The 1st is the loft above the main level living room area that looks out at the mountains. It has a King size bed with its own full bathroom upstairs. The 2nd and 3rd bedrooms are next to the main living room area and each bedroom has a Queen size bed in it. These bedrooms share a full bathroom. The 4th bedroom is downstairs at the bottom of the staircase and is small and has 2 twin beds in it. The closet in this bedroom has the washer and dryer in it. It has the electric massage chair in it. The small 5th bedroom also has 2 twin beds in it. The two downstairs bedrooms have access to a small full bathroom through the door going into the garage. Therefore the home has a total of 7 beds in 5 different sleeping areas.

15.) What activities are there to do in winter, spring summer and fall? The greatest tool to explore these questions are your computer. If you do an internet search for the above questions for a particular season you will get numerous answers to your questions that tells you all the numerous activities you can do in beautiful Estes Park as an adult, as a family or as a thrill seeker. You can accordingly plan your trip to suit your desire.

16.) Can I book less than a 2 night stay? Yes you can ONLY IF the calendar shows fewer than 2 nights available between already scheduled bookings. Otherwise we cannot accept fewer than 2 nights minimum stay due to the overhead costs involved.

17.) I see different rates when I put in my booking dates? The rate you see for those particular dates are accurate. The rates vary from weekday rates to weekend rates which are higher. The summer rates are higher compared to winter and spring rates. Holiday rates are also higher. Your booking a FULL WEEK will generally show you a lower weekly rate. The Airbnb website will show you the lowest nightly rate, but that doesn't mean you will get that rate as our rates are based on the pricing as stated above. We do NOT control the Airbnb app or their computer system.

Our neighborhood is peaceful and avoids the tourist crowd of summer in the downtown area which is easily accessible. Watch the elks graze right by the house in the early mornings and late in the day. Watch the yellow and golden fall colors during the season. Safeway is a 10-15 minute drive from our home. We shop at it and they have the best fuel rates for the car. There is an inexpensive Redbox in the Safeway grocery store where we rent movies. There are beavers that reside in the creek along Fish Creek road that can be seen and photographed before sunset. Hike Bear Lake, Sprague Lake and visit the Alluvial Fan waterfall in the Rocky Mountain National Park for spectacular photographs. Lily Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park is less than 10 minutes drive from our home. Drive up to Trail Ridge Pass in summer and have lunch near the skies. You can do a day trip starting in the morning all the way past Trail Ridge Pass to Grand Lake on the other side and you may spot some moose on the way. Shop and eat downtown at the many shops and eateries and have a picnic by the river in the park by the post office. Hike the trail around the lakes that you will see when coming into town-Lake Estes and along the river downtown. Do a boating trip on the lake. For those with young kids, use the children's playground at Stanley Park off Fish Creek Road. Enjoy the Spring season flowers. Get away from the heat of summer to cool mountain evenings needing a light jacket. Go white water rafting through the many companies that advertise online or do some horse back riding in the park or right near our home. Putt putt golf with the family in Estes Park by the river at 2 locations. Trout fish at Trout Haven in Estes Park and grill or broil the fish for dinner. Fly fish the Thompson River. Enjoy the spectacular July 4th fireworks over Estes Lake without excessive large city traffic by lazing on your chair or picnic blanket at Stanley Park. There is the farmers market every Thursday in summer at the Estes Park Fairgrounds from 8 am-12:30 pm. There are seasonal arts and crafts and food festivals that you can look up online. They have free concerts downtown in summer. Use the swimming pool at the Aquatic Center for a very small fee by Stanley Park. Watch the stars at night on the deck of the house or go to the observatory off Fish Creek Road by Stanley Park to see the far stars and planets. The Scottish/Irish Festival starts at the beginning of fall and enjoy the aspens turning gold and yellow in fall. That is when the elks start bugling and so always stay away from the elks at any time in the year as they are massive 500-700 lb wild animals. Winter brings the beautiful white snow that can be watched as Longs Peak, Mt. Meeker and the Twin Sisters accumulate snow for the holiday season. The holiday lights twinkle in the snow. Cuddle up by the fireplace and tell stories to each other while eating popcorn and drinking hot cocoa. Or you can relax in the hot tub for up to 7 people with 35 massage jets on the back patio of our home. Use the hot tub outdoors or the Jacuzzi tub indoors after ice skating downtown or at the YMCA. Go sledding on the hills in the National Park with the family. You can snow shoe walk or cross country ski. If you wish to do some downhill skiing then drive about 45 minutes to the El Dora ski resort area in Nederland. Estes Park is for all seasons and will create everlasting memories for you, your family and friends and we are happy to be part of your experience.

Getting Around

You will need to rent or have a car to come to Estes Park and enjoy the Rocky Mountain National Park. Plan 90 minutes of drive time from DIA to our home in Estes Park. Fly into Denver International Airport (DIA), pick up your rental car and drive the fastest route using the map quest instructions. HWY 36 is now repaired after the floods and it is what we use to get in and out of Estes Park. You can also use HWY 7 to come into Estes Park. When you come into the small town of LYONS you can turn right to Estes park or turn left onto HWY 7 also going into Estes Park.

Using a GPS is the best way to get around.

Estes Park Shuttle service can bring you directly to our home from the airport for $45 per person one-way or $85 round trip per person and can be booked on line or calling them. You will however need a car to get around.

Other Things to Note

Our home is in a family community and therefore there can be NO partying allowed. Also it is not designed or furnished for College students without their accompanying parents. You will be given an access code to enter the main front door that will work for the days that you rent the place for. It automatically deactivates after you check out and every guest has a unique access code. We have a visitors home guide, appliances guide and Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park guide binder on the coffee table for your enjoyment and guidance. Please leave it at the same place when leaving for other guests. Thank you in advance for cooperating with us!

A standard Vacation Rental Lease agreement will be sent to you electronically for you to initial, sign and fill in the blanks on behalf of everyone staying at our home. It contains all the rules and safety information to make for a pleasant stay at our home.

1.) REGISTERED GUESTS ONLY. Only guests that are registered and have paid for the home are allowed on the premises. This is a family oriented community and therefore we expect the usual and customary family oriented behavior and peaceful use of the home. There can be NO PARTYING and this home is NOT designed and furnished for College students without their responsible parents with them. The HOA rules allow for eviction of unruly occupants.

2.) CHECKING IN. An entry code will be provided that works for the week that you stay for and then deactivates automatically at check out time. Please LIFT AND CARRY YOUR LUGGAGE INSIDE THE HOUSE SO THE WOOD FLOORS DO NOT GET SCRATCHED.

3.) PETS. My daughter is allergic to pet dander and therefore NO PETS are allowed under any circumstance. You will be asked to leave the premises if any pets are brought in or around the home and you will FORFEIT your deposit to clean up.

4.) SMOKING. Smoking is strictly forbidden as me and my daughter are allergic to cigarette or pipe smoking. If you choose to do so, please do so outside on the deck or back patio. You will FORFEIT your deposit if our cleaner reports any evidence of smoking inside the home.

5.) FIREPLACE. The wood pellet stove has a thermostat by the wood door on the wall in the corner. Lift the cover of the fireplace and make sure there is enough wood pellets in it. You can find the wood pellets in a bag in the cupboard below the TV on the left hand side. There are more bags in the garage that you can bring up if you run out of pellets. Push the left button on the thermostat to turn on the light and the instructions. Push the bottom LEFT button to show the "MENU" button and then push the RIGHT bottom button to "SELECT COMFORT LEVEL." Use the buttons on the RIGHT SIDE of the thermostat to increase or decrease the temperature to the desired level. Then push the bottom left button for "DONE." This sets the temperature that you desire for the room to be at in degrees Fahrenheit. It will take about 10 minutes for the fireplace to turn on automatically and for you to enjoy. If the temperature rises to the desired level it automatically turns the fire down and shuts off.
If you use the fireplace daily, please use the vacuum cleaner in the corner to clean the ashes out DAILY for SAFE use of the fireplace. Open the front door of the fireplace WHEN IT IS COOL by pulling on the door by the right side. I do it every morning in winter. It exposes the glass window that is LOCKED by the lever on the right side. Lift the lever to open the door. Connect the vacuum cleaner to the electric outlet by the sofa. Turn on the vacuum cleaner by pushing the RED button on the lower right side of the cleaner and vacuum using the hose connected at the back the ashes around the fireplace. There is an ash tray below the fireplace that can be pulled out and emptied in to the garbage by the sink. Make sure you REPLACE the ash tray and then "LOCK" the window door so it is SAFE again. Then close the front door. Refill the pellets on the top and enjoy the fireplace.

6.) ELECTRIC HEATING. Make sure EACH thermostat is TURNED ON in winter. The ON button is on the side of each thermostat and must stay ON at all times in WINTER, even when leaving the home to maintain the temperature inside the house at at least 55 degrees farenheit. When leaving the home, push the "HOLD" button on every thermostat and it will automatically default to the 55 degrees Fahrenheit temperature that we leave the home at when nobody is home. There are 2 thermostats in the main living/family room. One is concealed behind the staircase by the glass mirror and the second is by the refrigerator. PLEASE MAKE SURE NO FURNITURE, CLOTHING, BEDDING, LUGGAGE OR ANY ITEMS ARE AGAINST THE ELECTRIC BASEBOARDS HEATERS IN THE HOME TO AVOID FIRES.
There is a thermostat in each bedroom on the main level, one by the bed in the loft and the bathroom in the garage that can be set at the desired temperature. It should already be set at "HEAT" on the right side of each unit during winter. Open the front cover to see the dial set at "RUN." Push the "HOLD" button to set it at 55 degrees Fahrenheit. After this step, push the "UP" button on the top right side to increase the temperature to the desired level that shows on the screen. I usually set it to between 67 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit in winter. Then push the "HOLD" button and it keeps the temperature at the desired level. When going to sleep at night I turn the temperature down to 60 degrees for a comfortable nights sleep with sheets or thin blankets. Remember that your body also will heat the room up when sleeping.
The bathrooms in the loft and main level and the small bedroom downstairs on the main level have electric baseboard heaters that have a DIAL to select the temperature. When leaving the home turn them down to "LO." When in the home you can turn them to "MEDIUM" for a comfortable temperature or slightly higher as the room warms up with the heat from the electric baseboard and the body heat generated.
The loft and main level bathroom floors have radiant heat flooring. The thermostats are by the entry door and you can set the temperature at 22 - 23 DEGREES CENTIGRADE. When leaving, please turn them down to 13 DEGREES CENTIGRADE.
All heaters will be turned off in summer as there will be no need for them, but can be turned back on if needed.

7.) AIRCONDITIONING (A/C). We have lived for six years in Estes Park and rarely need A/C. There are a few days in July and August that you may need the A/C during the DAYTIME. The split system LG a/c unit is located above the bed in the loft and is powerful enough to cool the whole main level and the adjacent 2 bedrooms on the main level if the doors are kept open. The remote control is on the wall by the left hand side by the foot of the bed and the loft bathroom. ALWAYS REPLACE THE REMOTE CONTROL BACK TO ITS HOLDING POCKET ON THE WALL BY THE SWITCH. Please make sure it is already on the "COOL" mode which we always leave it on since we use it for cooling purposes only. Select the desired temperature and the unit will automatically turn on. When leaving the home, please turn it OFF.
We usually choose between 72 to 75 degrees during the daytime in the hot summer months.
At night in summer open the windows partially to let the cool air in and drop the temperature as desired. The outside temperature usually cools down to 45 to 65 degrees at night in summer.

8.) FRIDGE. We have a Samsung French 2 drawer refrigerator. The self explanatory LED panel lights up when touched. The filter has been changed and after some lack of use it turns RED. Hold the alarm button/filter reset button for 3 seconds and it turns BLUE and ready for use. Throw away the first 3 glasses of water before drinking the water. The water in the faucets are safe to drink directly. You may wish to turn the icemaker OFF at night when sleeping so it does not disturb you when making ice. Turn the ice making back on in the morning by touching the ICE OFF button gently. If you hold it too long, it locks the ice maker so small children do not play with it.

9.) COOKTOP. The cook top has 2 ovens and 4 burners that are self explanatory. Please ALWAYS TURN ON THE EXHAUST IN THE HOOD ABOVE TO LET THE COOKING AROMAS OUT OF THE HOME. You can turn on the light when using it. There is a faucet above the cooktop that can be used for filling the pot.

10.) MICROWAVE. The microwave oven is a drawer style oven next to the dish washer. PLEASE ALWAYS USE THE FOOD COVER when heating food to avoid spillage of hot food.

11.) DISHWASHER. We have a double dishwasher that allows use for smaller loads. Use the FINISH POWERBALL tablet after unwrapping it from the cover and drop it in to the bottom of the dishwasher. The tablets are under the sink in the cupboard. When you pull open the dishwasher you will see settings on the top. Touch the ECO button to make sure the red light is ON and then touch the arrow button on the left side to set the dishwasher at FAST. It takes 38 minutes to wash a load of dishes and dry the dishes.

12.) SINK. The right sink looking to the front of the home has a garbage disposal unit that can be turned ON from the switch on the wall facing the front. The other switch turns the light above the sink on. The faucet facing the front of the home is touch sensitive and turns on and off by touching it. When done, please turn it OFF from the main switch.

13.) PANTRY/CUPBOARDS. The pantry and cupboards in the kitchen have spices and food items that we use when we are in the home. You are welcome to use it during your stay.
There is a rice cooker on the left side revolving cupboard next to the microwave oven that also has spices and cooking oils on it. There is a food blender above the refrigerator.

14.) GARBAGE. The garbage container is conveniently located below the sink on the right side. The front takes your usual garbage and the back takes RECYCLABLE garbage. Please place the bags that are FULL into the green garbage container in the garage downstairs for our cleaner to dispose off.
DO NOT PLACE ANY FOOD ITEMS OR GARBAGE BAGS OUTSIDE THE HOME AS THIS IS BEAR COUNTRY AND IT IS AGAINST THE LAW TO IRRESPONSIBLY DISPOSE OFF FOOD THAT ATTRACTS BEARS OR OTHER ANIMALS. YOU MAY BE FINED AND TICKETED FOR THIS.

15.) BATHROOM. The main level bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub. Please make sure you FILL IT ABOVE THE JETS LEVEL BEFORE TURNING ON THE JETS. Failure to do so will result in water splashing and draining down into the bathroom in the garage. It also trips the safety and sensitive GFCI button outside the bathroom. That can be reset by cleaning the water on the floor and then resetting the GFCI button by pushing it so the RED light turns OFF. There is a second safety GFCI button located above the toilet/commode.

16.) WATER HEATER. The 50 gallon water heater is already ON and located below the staircase when you enter the home. If there are several people then please take turns in taking showers as it takes some time to reheat the cold water especially in winter.

17.) ELECTRIC. You should not need to use this. The main switch panel/breaker box is in the small cupboard in the small downstairs bedroom behind the massage chair. You should not need to use it, but it can be opened in the rare and unlikely event of an area being tripped off.

18.) WATER TURN ON/OFF VALVE. You should not need to use this. The main turn on and off valve is behind the house by the pile of rocks. The valve is under the small rock that exposes the 6 inch circular metal disc. The long T-shaped metal rod on the left side of the garage by my car is used to turn the water supply on and off when in case of an emergency. It is inserted in to the hole and turned anticlockwise. THE WATER HEATER HAS TO BE TURNED OFF AT THE BREAKER BOX IN THE DOWNSTAIRS BEDROOM BEFORE TURNING THE WATER SUPPLY OFF. THIS PREVENTS THE WATER HEATER COIL BURNING UP WITH NO WATER IN IT.

19.) FIRE EXTINGUISHERS. There is a cooking fire extinguisher in the cupboard on the right side of the cooktop stove and oven. There is a larger fire extinguisher by the kitchen sink. There is another fire extinguisher in the loft bathroom next to the sink cupboard on the right side. There is another fire extinguisher on the floor by the right side of the laundry cabinet in the laundry cupboard in the lower level of the house.
There are smoke and fire alarms in the home at every level.

20.) TV's & DVD's. The remote controls for the 3 TV's and DVD's are next to each entertainment center. The silver remote turns the TV and satellites HDTV connection on and off. The black TV remote has to be used to turn the "SOURCE" button (above the green colored MENU button) to change it to HDMI3 for DVD's to play.
AV is for the satellite connection.
There are different DVD selections below the living area TV in the cabinet for the enjoyment of guests.

21.) MUSIC/CD PLAYER. We have a small radio and CD player on the kitchen countertop and there are CD's that can be found in the cabinet above the wine rack for the enjoyment of guests during their stay.

22.) HUMIDIFIER. The humidity level is low in the mountains and so we use a humidifier that is located on the left side of outside the loft bathroom. It is the large brown container with the black top. Open the top left side of the black top cover and you will find a white bottle inside. Use the tube below the loft bathroom sink to fill it with water. You can add a cap full of bacteriostatic fluid and a cap full of water softener fluid also under the bathroom sink cabinet. Replace the water bottle and cover and turn the humidifier ON. We usually keep the setting at 1 and fill the water every morning. When leaving, please turn it OFF.

22.) OUTDOOR GRILL. We have a new outdoor grill in the garage that you are welcome to use. Please USE IT OUTDOORS IN THE OPEN SPACE OUTSIDE THE GARAGE TO AVOID SMOKE AND FIRE HAZARDS within the garage.

24.) WINDOW SHADES. We have electric window shades by Hunter Douglas in the living, dining and kitchen areas. The remote control is attached to the wall by the light switches on the left side of the refrigerator. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE IT FROM THE WALL. If you push down on the bottom grey circular button, the light will blink above it. Push down on the lower button till the appropriate red light blinks reflecting the shade area that the remote will control. The 1st red light controls the Kitchen side window, the 2nd red light the kitchen sink shade, the 3rd red light the dining area and the 4th the living area shade. These 4 zones for the shades are changed by pushing down on the bottom most button.
Once set to the corresponding shade area, push the topmost button with the arrow pointing UP to raise the shades. Push the lower button with the arrow pointing DOWN, to close the shades.
The middle large button stops the shades in any given position at any level.
PLEASE NOTE that to pull up or down the largest shade in the LIVING ROOM the battery needs extra juice from the remote and therefore YOU WILL HAVE TO PRESS AND HOLD THE UP OR DOWN BUTTONS TO KEEP THE SHADE MOVING UP OR DOWN IN THE LIVING ROOM AREA. There is no shade assigned to all the 4 lights lighting up, so you will have to push the lowest button to move to the next zone.
KINDLY LOWER THE SHADES DOWN WHEN LEAVING THE HOME ESPECIALLY IN THE AFTERNOON TO AVOID THE DIRECT SUNLIGHT FROM FADING THE FURNITURE OR WOOD FLOORS. PLEASE LOWER THE SLIDING DOOR BLINDS GENTLY TOO using the knob on either side of the sliding door screen.

25.) Window use. When we are in the home, we open a few of the windows with the window screen to let in some cool or cold air. We do the same in the bedroom areas at night. You need to open the windows only PARTIALLY, less than 20 to 30 degrees to keep cold air coming in. If you open them totally the wind will be too strong at times and it will blow the window screen down and cool the rooms down excessively. In winter you will not need to open the windows as it is quite cold outside and you will need the heaters on inside the home.

26.) We have a 7 person HOT TUB on the back patio equipped with 35 massage jets. It is for your use at your own risk. A list of precautions is posted next to the hot tub and also in the information sent to you before you check in. Kindly follow the rules and safety instructions. Please leave the TEMPERATURE SETTING AT 100 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT and REPLACE and SECURE the cover when done using the hot tub. This prevents heat loss. We appreciate your kind cooperation!

We are from Houston, Texas. My family all live in the Bay Area of San Francisco. We have a wonderful 10 year old daughter who loves all her cousins. In summers and sometimes in winters, we stay in our log home in Estes Park and enjoy the Rocky Mountain National Park. We are retired and love to take it easy. The extra income helps offset our mortgage and up keep costs. Airbnb is a great way to travel as you get 3-5 times the space of a hotel and save on cooking for your selves. I love to cook. You get great deals for excellent homes. We also get to stay longer at more reasonable prices and get to explore the places better in a more relaxed fashion. We love watching movies. We like contemporary Jazz and me and my daughter also like Pop music. We love clean places as we keep ours very clean. We care for people's homes just as we do for ours. Our daughter is homeschooled and very well behaved. My husband Kaiser's motto is "Live life to the fullest." My motto is "Knowledge is the antidote to fear."
