About this listing
I have been hosting for over 3 years now and enjoy having guests come and stay. My flat is ideal for short or long stays, tourists or business people. The flexible nature of the bedroom also means I can host singles, couples, families or friends.
This is a very clean single/twin/double room in 3 bedroom maisonette (duplex) in a very vibrant and arty neighbourhood. The ground floor is made up of the kitchen/diner and open plan living room. Bedrooms and bathroom are upstairs. The apartment is very warm and light and airy with a great view towards the city and west end. This room would especially suit out-of-town Mon-Fri commuter looking for an alternative to Travel Lodge etc.
No smoking in the flat but you may on the balcony.
You may have visitors over (not overnight), but please ask me first.
Please secure the front door by double-locking it with the key to fully engage all locking bolts. This should be done on entering and exiting the flat.
Please do not eat in the lounge, there is a large dining table in the open plan kitchen and you can see the TV from there anyway!
Lower kitchen window blinds when going out (security).
Please leave shoes by the front door, the flat is very warm and stocking or bare feet are ok.
That's it - enjoy!
Mike was a fantastic host, when I arrived (temperature was 35degrees!) Mike was kind enough to carry my heavy bag upstairs and pour me some cold water to drink. The room and apartment was spacious and well equipped, detailed maps of the buses were also at hand. It was located well being at the doorstep of many different bus routes and 2 train stations. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend to anyone.
Mike's place is great- easy going, with a nice clean room. Mike keeps you apprised of his schedule and is an excellent host! I would stay here again. Loved it!
Awesome host came with the awesome room! Mike was warm, friendly, and accommodating. I felt welcome and quite comfortable in the space.
The flat is exactly as represented in the photos, but pictures can't represent how light, airy, and immaculate the place is. The room is cozy and comfortable with loads of storage space.
Mike gave me great suggestions for things to do in London, including things to do on a budget, then provided expert directions on how to get there.
The location is convenient for taking public transportation with bus stops directly in front and underground stations within walking distance. It is perfectly situated to reach major attractions within minutes. I enjoyed exploring the neighbourhood on foot. There are food shops and restaurants very close by and a charming art gallery a stone's throw away.
This was my first Airbnb stay, and it was a great experience. I'm probably spoiled for any other host. I highly recommend Mike's Awesome Room and definitely intend to stay with him again next time I'm in London!
Awesome apartment with large living room, very comfortable bedroom and clean bathroom. Your helpful host can give you many tipps of London, no matter if it is about POIs, restaurants or traffics. My first experience of Airbnb is with a sunny ending in this fantastic apartment and i am very thankful for all what the host has done for me!
Mike is a gracious host and it is easy to stay at his place; it is beautiful well kept and clean. Plus transportation in his area is also very convenient to any major point in London. The real plus for me was the cafe next door at the South London Gallery -the food was healthy and tasty.
I would stay here again and recommend it highly.

This was my first airbnb experience and I wasn't sure what to expect. I need not have been concerned as Mike was very welcoming and was the perfect host. He was even able to recommend an excellent place to eat where the food and wine was great. Mike's home is very clean, comfortable, warm and stylish and Mike is very house proud. The area feels safe and Mike told me which buses I could catch from the nearby bus stop. I will certainly stay again next time I need to be in London.
I stayed at Mike's place for almost a month. The description is clear and Mike made me feel very welcome in the use of all facilities. The flat itself is modern, secure and clean.
Mike has all the information you need concerning the local area and the transport links to get into central london and around the local area.
I would be happy to stay there again for either the short or long term.
