The Tuffet is an elegant studio ideal for couples seeking a romantic oasis in the beauty of the Garden Route. With a private wood-fired hot tub overlooking idyllic views of the lake and mountains, this stylish, secluded space has all the simple luxuries needed to rest in nature. Pet-friendly and off the grid with air con, Wi-Fi, TV, Amazon Prime and all the essentials. Relax and reconnect with each other. Enjoy our farm trails, shared pool with stunning views, and the neighbouring national park.

The space
The Tuffet is a private, stylish studio nestled in the fynbos with uninterrupted views of the Outeniqua mountains and Rondevlei lake. The cottage has a luxurious king-size bed and ensuite bathroom with a spacious shower overlooking a quaint garden. The kitchen is well appointed with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Pet-friendly, off the grid, and equipped with a smart air conditioning system, Wi-Fi, TV, Amazon Prime and an indoor fireplace, this cottage has all the luxuries for extra comfort and relaxation.

The Tuffet has its own private cocktail pool/wood-fired hot tub, as well as an outdoor dining area, gas braai and fire pit. Abundant plant and birdlife are right at your doorstep. Listen to bird song while you make your morning coffee. Let your dogs explore the fynbos. Unwind in the pool while the sunset paints the sky or gaze up at the Milky Way on a clear night.

The cottage is a short stroll away from our shared pool area where guests can relax and enjoy views of the lake and mountains. Enjoy magcal walks on our short farm trails where you and your dogs can run free on our sandy fynbos covered dunes. Equleni borders the Wilderness National Park, so guests can walk straight from the farm to visit the nearby bird hide or hike along the Cape Dune Molerat Trail.

Conveniently located between Knysna and George and just outside of the Villages of Sedgefield. & Wilderness. Although we are on a farm we have the comfort of a tar road all the way to our front gate.

Guest access
The whole farm is yours to explore! Enjoy our beautiful farm trails, let your dogs run free on the fynbos dunes, relax by the farm pool overlooking the view, or explore the neighbouring Wilderness National Park.

The cottage is secluded with a fair distance between you and other cottages – granting you privacy and peace in nature.

Your own transport is essential, and there is place to park outside your cottage.

The farm is along a 2km newly tarred road.

Other things to note
1. The farm runs on solar power (no loadshedding).
2. While our farm is fenced, the cottage itself is not. For this reason, we can only accommodate socialised, non-roaming dogs.

Located beside the glorious Rondevlei lake and with a view of the magnificent Outeniqua mountains, Equleni Farm is a scenic haven true to its name “peace by the water”. The 21-hectare property showcases the unique natural beauty of the Garden Route with uninterrupted views painted by the fynbos, lake, mountains and sky. Equleni is a natural sanctuary of abundant indigenous flora and incredible birdlife. Situated between George and Knysna near the slow town of Sedgefield, the farm is close to stunning beaches, forests, local markets, hikes, restaurants and outdoor activities. The farm borders the Wilderness National Park, giving Equleni the magical feeling of a remote getaway while still being connected to everything the Garden Route has to offer.

Spend quality time with loved ones and reconnect with yourself. Marvel at picturesque African sunsets and gaze up at the Milky Way on a clear night. Listen to the birds and slow down to nature’s peaceful pace. Explore the fynbos trails of the neighbouring Cape Dune Molerat Trail and pause in the stillness of the nearby bird hide.
