  • Acorn House is a wonderful place to say, and a great value. It's in a really nice neighborhood of Asheville, and close to almost everything. We plan on returning, and spending more time this time around. William was a great host.

  • The Acorn House was the perfect base for our girls weekend in Asheville! The location is perfect, the home is beautiful and the hosts could not have been more accomodating or helpful. They have everything you might need at the house and the little touches like bread, milk and eggs were so very thoughtful. I can't wait for a return visit!

    Response from William:

Thanks Lynsie...please come back...there is more to explore in Asheville!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Acorn House. It was a great base to hang out and also explore the area, we hope to make it back there again soon. Thanks!

Thanks Matthew. We are glad it was good for you and hope to see you again when you pass this way on your travels. Best wishes and happy traveling!

  • Acorn House was the perfect place to stay while in Asheville celebrating my 40th birthday! William and Jane were gracious and helpful, coming by to light the pilot light so we could relax in front of the gas logs. The house was spacious enough to spread out, but plenty of common space when we all wanted to sit and chat. I could lounge in the sun room all day! We will definitely stay at Acorn House again!
    Thanks William and Jane!

    Response from William:

Thanks Lisa. We are so happy your birthday was a fun event and hope to see you again another day.

  • What a wonderful stay! Our family of seven (one in a crib) were very comfortable at the Acorn House. According to our GPS it was pretty much 8 minutes from everywhere. Perfect!

William was a fantastic host, and the house was beautiful and immaculately kept. Kitchen was well equipped with quality cookware and good working appliances.

Only word of caution is that if you have very light sleepers in the group you may want to download a white noise app or bring ear plugs, it is an old creaky house and there's a train that passes within hearing (but not loud!) distance a few times a day. My husband (who can hear a pin drop in the next town) was the only one who heard anything at night.

We have every intention of returning to the Acorn house and we have already raved about it to family and friends. In fact, our original stay was supposed to be 4 nights, but we extended an extra two because we were so happy with the accommodations.

    Response from William:

We are so impressed with all the activities you managed to pack in with the kids. And I love that you do geocaching. What a fun way to introduce kids to the beauty of nature. Hope to see you again.

  • We had a wonderful time staying at the Acorn House for a month! Asheville is a great city, and the house was in the perfect location to access everything we wanted to do. Minutes from the Biltmore and Downtown. The house itself was lovely, and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was peaceful and quiet, and the neighbors were very friendly and helpful. Even with a big snow storm, we still had a fabulous time! Would stay here again, and recommend the Acorn House to anyone.

    Response from William:

Thank you! Sorry for the snow storm(s). Unusual for us these (website hidden) Asheville. We hope to see you again if you relocate to the area! Happy travels. Your always welcome here!.

  • William's house was just what we expected, and needed. We particularly appreciated the cleanliness, nice beds, bedding, and towels. And, to be honest, we love the radiator heat, as we were there when it was cold. We were thankful for the extra touches such as having organic coffee and bread, and loved the detailed notebooks of information.

The location was good -- quite close to downtown and music venues we like. (Though keep your GPS handy, which can be said for Asheville in general.)

I would certainly recommend this house, and William, who was organized and responsive. Thank you, William.

    Response from William:

Thank you Jeanne. We are so glad you had a good time in Asheville and at Acorn House. Yes, GPS is great in the mountains, though sometimes it takes you over the mountain in a very odd way! I still get lost on occasion, but still love being in the mountains. Even when you are lost it is beautiful!!! Thanks again, Jeanne.

  • The house is great - spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The main bed is enormous, the shower good and the kitchen well equipped.

The hosts were helpful and friendly.

We would definitely stay here again.

  • It was warm when we got there! The house was clean and warm and wonderful. It is beautiful, relaxing, and totally set up for us. There was coffee, milk and some food left for us. There's some spices and a bunch of cooking stuff if you are so inclined. We had an amazing time. Thanks to our hosts!
