Linda and Steve are great hosts. The house was very beautiful and in a perfect location to stay for vacation. We really enjoyed the place. I may be planning again to visit the place again this summer.
Linda and Steve are wonderful hosts. Very warm and welcoming. Love the home. Was perfect for us!
Linda and Steve were incredible hosts, friendly and always quick to respond anytime I had a question before or during my stay. Linda took the time to show me all the trails around the property, point out some of the native plants and animals, and gave some excellent hiking recommendations in the area. They really made me feel right at home here :)
The house is spacious and very comfortable, although my favorite part of the house is the double porches - such luxury! The kitchen is stocked with all the utensils and cookware you could possibly need. Cell phone coverage is spotty out here (you are in the woods, after all), but the Wi-Fi was even stronger than I was expecting and there is a landline phone available for use if needed.
This was truly an amazing experience. I was here for work, but it honestly felt like a vacation being able to come home to a place like this. I will definitely be back the next time I am in this area!
The pictures cant do justice to the place, lovely cabin with all the comfort, the kitchen is fully equipped, super comfortable bed, watching hummingbirds in the morning is a plus, Linda was lovely. Highly recommended. Thanks Linda
I knew we had made the right decision to stay here as soon as I heard a response from Linda. She was very quick to respond and sounded genuinely excited to host us. When we arrived on the property she and her husband greeted us and showed us around. The house was immaculately clean and very comfortable. My two little ones were very happy to see the bunnies, birds and banana slugs. We enjoyed a campfire where we roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. The surroundings were so stunning and relaxing, and the stars and silence at night was truly spectacular.
All the comforts of home were provided along with high quality bedding and and a kitchen fully stocked with anything you could need to cook a nice meal. We can't wait to go back! Thanks for a wonderful time in Walton!
We so appreciate guest reviews, as it can be a little scary heading into a wilderness type accommodation without some confirmation of quality. Steve and I really did enjoy having you and your sweet young family. A natural wonder like ours is meant to be shared --a gift from spirit :-)
LOVE to see you all out on Chickahominy Creek again!! --Linda/Steve
We loved this home in the country. It was the most well-stocked kitchen I have ever rented, and Linda left organic lemonade for the kids. This is a great place to just be together, and an easy trip into Eugene if you want to.
Linda and Steve are truly great host. They provided us everything we may need in the cabin. the cabin was extremely clean and cozy. Before we went there we were in doubt. Because there wasn't enough pic from inside the cabin! In fact when I arrived there I was supprised and everything was more than my expectation. So if you have the same feeling don't judje this place based on picture. This two bedroom cabin had everything I needed and I felt like I was in my own home!
The cabin is just located in the middle of nowhere! I enjoyed reading books listening to the sound of nature and rain. Best place for concentrate and writing. I felt like it was only me and this cabin in the forest!
Dear Linda and Steve special THANK YOU for being such a great host. Happy New Year! Wish you all the best.

Hi! I am a Retired Eugene 4jTeacher and current UO instructor. My husband, Steve, is a builder/carpenter. We are both naturalists and trained in outdoor education and connections with the natural world. For the last decade, through our own school, Campsight, we have shared instructional experiences and inspiring adventure at our precious lands here in Walton on Chickahominy Creek. We are continued students of the wilderness that surrounds us daily in this incredible Coast Range environment. It is our passion to share it's wonders, beauty, and the revitalizing magic. It is our hope that those who find us via the Bed and Breakfast option, will (re)discover the simple joys of earth-time and nature immersion!
