Interaction with Guests
We will always be home to greet you upon arrival and are happy to join you for a glass of wine or breakfast. However, we do also understand that you are on vacation and may just prefer minimal interaction. We provide breakfast daily and also wine and cheese (on the porch when weather allows) in the late afternoon if you like.
Our home is in a wonderful and very convenient neighborhood with restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store a mere block away. The neighborhood has sidewalks and walking/jogging areas including a marsh front path of approximately 1 -1/2 miles. There is also a rookery within walking distance.
Our home is very convenient to Charleston via the Ravenel Bridge. It's about a 12 minute drive to the corner of East Bay St and Market. The Isle of Palms is accessible via the connector or you may reach Sullivans Island via the Ben Sawyer Bridge. Both islands are about a 15 minute drive. We are also conveniently located to Patriots Point, Mt. Pleasant's Waterfront Park, and The College of Charleston. There is a CARTA bus stop approximately 2 blocks from the house.
Other Things to Note
Please note that our price is inclusive. There are no additional fees for cleaning or an extra person.
We just ask that our guests are respectful of our home. No smoking is allowed.
Jeff and Carla were fantastic hosts! We had a wonderful time from our arrival late Friday evening enjoying a glass of wine and the NCAA tournament play off game to the delicious Sunday brunch before heading home. Everything was just lovely. Their home is beautiful and nestled in a lovely neighborhood with all of the feel of Old Charleston while being in a new development with restaurants, shops and more within walking distance. We enjoyed meeting them and can't wait to return and stay again on our next trip to Charleston. We travel to Charleston at least once a year to run the Cooper River Bridge Run and look forward to seeing them again next spring if not before.
Our hosts were welcoming and provided us with a lovely, well appointed, exceptionally clean and very comfortable room and private bath experience. In addition, they cheerfully answered questions about the area and made helpful suggestions to make our visit to the area more pleasant. In addition, we enjoyed absolutely delicious breakfasts and were cordially invited to share a glass of wine and aperitifs in the evening. In short, amazing experience.
Jeff and Carla were absolutely wonderful! We loved staying in their beautiful home and can't wait to return. It was even better than advertised and we really got to experience southern hospitality. This was the best Air BnB stay I've had.
My mom and I stayed with Carla and Jeff for 3 nights and they were the ultimate hosts. They have thought of absolutely everything to make guests feel welcome and taken care of -- extra toiletries, travel pamphlets, coffee and tea just outside the bedroom door, wine and cheese, baked goods, and the most fantastic breakfasts I've ever had. Their house is spotless and beautifully furnished. Our room and adjoining bathroom were lovely and spacious and the bed was more comfortable than mine at home. We were able to park right in front of the house and it was an easy drive in and out of Charleston proper. There are several restaurants nearby in Mt. Pleasant and Carla was happy to give us recommendations. If I'm ever in the area again, I'd love to stay with Carla and Jeff and I hope they'll get in touch if they make it out here to the Pacific Northwest!
Jeff and Carla are your dream hosts, and their home is your dream accommodation. They are welcoming and down to earth. They care about your comfort, and they want you to enjoy their home and their city. They want to get to know their guests--in fact, this was the most 'social' airbnb experience we have had. The neighborhood is convenient to Charleston and great for walking. Our room (and the entire house) was spotless and comfortable. Your expectations will be exceeded.
First and foremost, Jeff and Carla are wonderful people. They are the epitome of southern hospitality. When we walked in, we were offered wine with some nice snacks. They were knowledgeable about the city, where to eat and who is who. The next morning, Jeff prepared an incredible southern breakfast, everything homemade. Our room was clean and lovely with our own bathroom in the room. Everything that we could need was well provided for in terms of amenities. We only stayed one night, but I would absolutely stay again. Thank you!
This is a wonderful place to stay! Jeff and Carla are more lovely than you could imagine, and their home is comfortable and luxurious. I was warmly greeted with wine and snacks. They pleasantly answered all of my questions and gave me plenty of insider tips so I could enjoy the local restaurants and out of the way points of interest. Jeff and Carla, thank you so much for opening your home. I feel I have now experienced that legendary Southern Hospitality. I will be back!
Our goal is to provide guests with a welcoming and comfortable place to stay while visiting Charleston. We love fixing breakfast and seeing that you have the amenities to make your stay a little like visiting friends. Let's just say we want you to experience the hospitality we enjoy while travelling.
We retired in August of 2014, and moved back to Mt Pleasant, SC, where we previously lived in the 1980's. We returned because we love being near the water, the history, and the terrific culture that you find in the lowcountry.
Jeff was raised in Indiana and Carla grew up in the Finger Lakes region of western New York state. We have also lived in southern Ohio, Shelby, North Carolina, Savannah, Georgia, and suburban Chicago, Illinois. We both love to travel, cook, read, and spend time on the water, though not necessarily in that order.
We look forward to sharing our home with guests.
