Our apartment is located in the central district of restaurants in Marseille. Life is busy but we are staying quiet on the 4th floor of an old typical building. The 110m ² apartment consists of 3 bedrooms : 2 with a double bed and 1 for children (with a baby bed or double bed). There is also a large bathroom with tub and toilet (+ another toilet on the balcony), and a large lounge of 35m ² with open kitchen and bar (and a comfortable sofa bed if needed). The living room has an entire length of the original stone wall and a balcony overlooking the street with views of the mountains and the sea beyond. The rooms are at the back overlooking the gardens and quiet. This is a very quiet and comfortable place to live we love!
Our neighborhood is easily accessible (metro Notre-Dame du mont, tramway and buses), and we are just 5-10 minutes away by walk to the Old Port and the railway station. Many markets are held next door to us every day of the week (except Sunday), you can find fresh produce in the region, and prepare delicious meal in our colourful kitchen.
Our area is called "Cours Julien" or "Notre-Dame du mont". The Cours Julien is a popular meeting place with a large choice of cafés and small restaurants with their colourful terraces. The best one is just downstairs!
This is where the creative heart of the city beats. On this esplanade, now reserved for pedestrians, lined with fountains and cypresses, the legend endures, and the shops of creative talents are numerous. The bars and the restaurants with sunny terraces make it a Provençal and urban oasis: this area is sure to enchant you.
We speak good english, spanish and some russian.
we were very happy during the six days of our holidays with two little daughters in gabriel and maxime's apartment. they are really kind and their home is cozy, full of light and clean. it's the perfect location if you like "movida" but at the same time you wish a silent place to live in the real center of marseille. we hope to come back again soon.
We had a fantastic week in this apartment which is located in a really nice part of town with lots of resturants and bars. The apartment is spacious and nicely furnished with a great balcony aswell (makes the walk up the stairs worth it!). Didn't meet Maxime and Gabriel, but they seem very nice and was very helpful.
We had a great stay at Maxime's apartment. The location is perfect for exploring Marseille (email hidden)ly neighborhood. The apartment is spacious, cool, and clean. Thanks!
Maxime and Gabriel have a beautiful and big flat with a cozy sleeping room with balcony for their guests. The two were very hospitable which made our stay uncomplicated and us feel like home. Thank you again for everything!
Beautiful, clean and unique gem of an apartment in the center of Marseille. Everything was as described and pictured - perfect! Maxime was very prompt in responding to our booking request and even though we didn't get to meet her, she left us a nice welcome note and guidebooks for the city. Thank you so much!
This apartment is very quiet but as the title suggests, in the fun, busy area: lots of cafés, bars and cool shops. It has tiled floors, so if visiting in winter bring your slippers. It's well heated though and there is a piano and big bathroom. While I didn't get to meet the hosts, they seemed very helpful and communicative and keen to share the best of Marseille. I think they also have good taste, because they have great nougat flavoured tea and Dr Bronner's magic shower gel. Make sure you get Maxime to show you how to use the door key.
Maxime et Gabriel nous ont réservé un super accueil dans leur charmant appartement marseillais ! Merci !
We had a fantastic two weeks in Marseille staying in Maxime and Gabriel's amazing apartment over Xmas and New Year. The flat had lots of space for three adults (Andrew's mother was travelling with us) and it had everything we needed during our stay. Maxime and Gabriel were very thoughtful hosts - they didn't seem to mind our late arrival time, Gabriel helped to carry suitcases up the stairs, they showed us around the flat and explained how everything worked (heating, hot water, internet, etc...) and they'd even put up a Christmas tree for us! We felt very welcome and it would have been nice to spend more time with them.
Marseille is a great city to visit and there were plenty of travel guides and maps in the flat. The location is excellent! The metro is very close but you can just walk everywhere. The neighbourhood has a real buzz - bars, restaurants, unique clothing shops, markets and excellent food shopping. We would love to go back and stay again!
Maxime and Gabriel are lovely! Gabriel met us off the metro and walked with us to the apartment. It is up four flights of stairs but he kindly offerred to help with our luggage. The apartment is clean and beautifully furnished. The bed is comfortable and they have left a number of useful guidebooks in the room to make planning your stay much easier. We had full use of the kitchen and washing machine and Maxime left out breakfast for us as well as offering us beer/wine each night. I would definitely return. The location is fantastic, right across the street from a number of bars and restaurants and only a short walk to the town centre and port.
The only negative is that the shower is often cold, however being an apartment in a large building we expected this as we have experienced the same elsewhere.
