Well, this will be the AirBnB against which all my future AirBnB's will be measured. An old university friend and I were first time travellers to Tanzania and we were so unprepared for the trip that we didn't start planning our itinerary until after we arrived. By the time we got to Arusha we were a little bit stressed but as soon as we arrived at John and Jane's beautiful home this stress began to lift. John & Jane are fabulous hosts. Both local, they had extensive knowledge of Tanzanian culture, customs, wildlife, history and - importantly for us - how to arrange nearby travel and tours. They fielded our hundreds of questions with patience and humour. The house is exactly as shown: immaculate and impeccable. The rooms and amenities are spotless. The hospitality was outstanding and I was very pleasantly surprised to return from a long, hot day to find that my dirty clothes had been laundered. We had a beautiful breakfast and dinner during our stay, provided by Jane and niece, Anita. I chose this home based on the high number of glowing reviews. I can certainly see why and would recommend this lovely AirBnB to anyone visiting Arusha.

The Arusha Palm House is absolutely fantastic. Me and my partner stayed for two nights before and two nights after our safari. It was the perfect place to rest and relax. Both Jane and John are wonderful hosts and are very welcoming. Every day John would ask if we wanted a lift into town or out to a dinner spot and Jane would put on a massive breakfast for us all. The house is quite large and has plenty of large rooms which are always very tidy and all beds have mosquito nets. We loved our stay here and will most definitely be back next time we are in Tanzania

This was one of my best airbnb experiences. Jane and John are the most amazing hosts! Their home is beautiful, scenic, very clean and well organised. The neighbourhood is also quite, making it a great area to relax and unwind. The rooms are spacious, well aerated and furnished. The linen is fresh and very comfortable. The images provided are real, not reinforced. The place is actually more beautiful! I would recommend Jane and John's place to any person hoping to explore and experience Arusha, people keen on botany, people who love humour and great entertainment (John is the most humourous host yet!), people keen on deep conversations, people who prefer solitude (the house is so large you can literally have an entire wing (or the entire home) to yourself, guests traveling with families, on business, everyone really. Jane and John's home is the equivalent of an airbnb Tanzanite! A rare, well manicured gem. PS: The wifi works perfectly. Jane and John will ensure you are picked up from your last stop in Arusha or the Airport. The home is not too far from the main road, 2.1kms to be precise. An awesome, morning or evening run track (4.2kms to and fro). I read a review about the road being very bad. Its not. Its not tarmac but its all weather and in excellent condition. For John's humour and Jane's generosity, we'd visit again 1000 times!!! Excellent excellent experience. Tunashukuru sana Jane na John kwa ukarimu wenu. Tunawaombea sala zake Mwenyezi Mungu. Awape wengi nyoyo za amani, upendo na taadhima kama mlio nayo. Yunawapenda sana sana.

Jane & John's home is breathtaking! A rare find in Tanzania for travellers to enjoy! We were after a bit of a recovery from touristy Zanzibar and downtime before Safari and got exactly that. Delicious, fresh and plentiful breakfast. Beautiful home both inside and out, great to relax and switch off from the world. Their staff were so friendly and welcoming! Most importantly, our hosts Jane and John went above and beyond to include us in their daily lives! We truly felt like their adopted daughters!! Cooking Chapati, Pilau, visiting the farm and getting locals knowledge on news and events of their country. Exactly what we wanted- an escape from tourist cliches.

We would like to thank John and Jane for being amazing hosts. They made us feel so welcome and at home, looked after us and made sure we were as comfortable as possible. They were also on hand to give us advice about the local area, help us get around, and just to have a chat and a cup of tea whenever we all had some down time. The house is well managed and kept in great condition and the room we stayed in was big with its own en suite bathroom, so we always had privacy when we wanted it. We could not have asked for a better place to 'recover' from our 3 day safari. Thank you both again, and we hope to visit again in the near future!

This was the best Airbnb experience we've ever had! Jane is awesome. Despite our late arrival Jane prepared an unexpected lovely meal for us after she settled us into our luxurious rooms. We slept late but that was no bother for Jane. She had a sumptuous breakfast waiting for us which was matched by a fascinating discussion about Tanzania. I hope we have another opportunity to stay at the Palm House. In the meantime, do not hesitate to book a room here and enjoy Jane's beautiful home and stellar hospitality.
