Ricardo's atelier is a can't-miss experience. The views of the city are breathtaking (Arcos de Lapa, the bay, so much more), and the space itself is very comfortable. I found the evening breezes to be very relaxing; it rained briefly but heavily on both nights of my stay and the atelier stayed almost completely dry.
The atelier is well-located, and offers a great jumping off point from which to explore Lapa!
Ricardo was a great host, and did everything he could have to make my stay as comfortable as possible.
Ricardo and his family are great hosts. They are very friendly, discrete, flexible and always available to help.
The room/terrace is in great location, minutes from Escaderia Selaron and is decorated with excellent taste.
If you are happy sleeping in open air, enjoy town views from a height, appreciate music and want to be close to the heart of Rio 's nightlife in Lapa, Ricardo 's place is very highly recommended.
Only note hot water is not predictably available (which is not really a problem in a city with tropical weather like Rio).
Overall, our experience in Ricardo's place was so great that one of my friends declated he wants to exchange it with his own flat back home!
Ricardo and his wife are very welcoming people.
The place has a magnificent view on the city and a lot of charm but we were surprised that if you have a roof over your head there are only 3 walls around you : one side of the place is open and it can be strange to feel as if you were sleeping outside ...
We were finally happy there with our two kids, you can really feel Lapa atmosphere from this place and the noise of the city was not a real problem...
We were very happy with the accommodation. We have booked it again for another weekend in 2 weeks!
The reservation was canceled 471 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We had the best time at Ricardos studio. It is big but cozy and the view is incredible!
We stayed for two weeks and we will come back absolutely!
The studio has plenty of room for two, as tough it'd be a little bit crowded with four people in it.
Next to the Selaron stairways its placement couldn't be better.
If you follow ladeira de santa teresa and go up, you will find many nice little restaurants. If you descend the Selaron stairways you will find the night life of Rio de Janeiro as well as the metro and the buses.
Ricardo and his wive are really nice and helpful. They brought us cooking utensiles and fresh towels after a few days.
We can't do anything but recomend this place!
