Beacon Hill’s narrow cobble stoned streets and brick sidewalks are the very essence of old Boston. This historic neighborhood is located directly behind the gold-domed State House adjacent to downtown. Beacon Hill is considered one of the safest neighborhoods in the metropolitan area. Its residential character, tight-knit community, and high level of police protection contribute to its general safety.
Charles and Cambridge Streets are the major commercial strips in Beacon Hill. Charles Street offers some of the most exclusive shopping experiences in the metropolitan area. Cambridge Street is a busy thoroughfare that primarily features restaurants and supermarkets.
Beacon Hill is one of the closest neighborhoods to MIT and is easily accessible to public transportation. The MBTA Charles Street/MGH Red Line station is located in the northwest corner of Beacon Hill and is just one stop away from Kendall/MIT. The Park Street Red Line station, a short walk across the Boston Common, is two stops from MIT.
On-street parking in Beacon Hill is extremely limited. Because this community is so accessible by foot, bicycle, and public transportation, however, there is
little need for a car.
Beacon Hill is a designated historic district, and its streets offer great character and charm. Most of the housing stock is in small three- and four-story apartment buildings with ten or fewer units. Beacon Hill contains some of the oldest housing stock in the city, and individual units tend to be smaller than those in other communities.

I had the pleasure of staying at this apartment for nearly 5 months. It is well located and full of historic Boston charm. Walking distance to many major Boston attractions as well as public transit. It's a great place to call home for a weekend or longer!
The Beacon Hill location is just great and provides easy access to Boston's attractions. The apartment has a well-equipped kitchen with coffee, cooking oil provided. The bathroom is tiny with the shower over a bathtub. A shelf over the shower curtain rail is badly needed as there is just nowhere to put soap, shampoo etc whilst showering except on the floor of the bath. Donna responded quickly to a couple of matters of concern.
Me and two friends stayed at Donna's place for about a month. The apartment is very cozy and well located. The neighbourhood is one of the nicest in Boston with gas lamps and brick buildings. Donna was always very polite and friendly. She was kind enough to leave some initial supplies when we arrived like quarters for the washing machine and some food. Will definitely recommend both the place and the owner. :)

Hi, my husband and I stayed here for a month in the city. We were working so it's convenience to the commuter rail, multiple subway lines, was perfect. Also, we enjoyed the many area restaurants, and had plenty of activities in the evenings and weekends. The sublet was wonderful, cozy, with a nice kitchen and living area. The place was stocked with goodies and toiletries which made for an easy transition. We definitely recommend this place whether you are visiting Boston for a few days or for an extended period!
Being in Boston is great. What a beautiful city!!! And the apartment is ideal to discover the city. You can find in it all the comfort you need and search and make you feel as being at home. I hope to come back again in Boston and I'll definitely rent the apartment again
I spent almost two weeks at Donna's apartment in Beacon Hill. The apartment was cozy, clean and comfortable and is in a fantastic location right up on the top of the hill. The building has the air of classic old Boston. The neighborhood is great for walking and there are lots of shops nearby. I'd recommend Donna's place to anyone who wants to stay in the area.
