The Space

A charming bed and breakfast in the centre of Rome and of the Roman spirit, for a stay that will measure up to your wishes: relaxing, fun, cultural, culinary.
The neighbourhood
Our B&B is located in the heart of Testaccio, the characteristic area of Rome famous for its restaurants and nightlife, but above all of inhabitants, which has maintened the original popular and genuine ‘Romanesco’ spirit.
During the day Testaccio is similar to a country town: market stalls, children playing in the square, dinner in local restaurants.
At night, especially over the weekend, the neighbourhood is lively and full of a variety of events, from live music to theatres and exhibitions.
All this at only 1.7 Kms from the Coliseum!
The building
Our apartment is situated on the 4th floor of a typical end of 19th century building (no lift), from where you can enjoy the view of the the large plane trees in via Galvani. Those trees endows the magic atmosphere of a house in the trees... in the very heart of the city! There are two double rooms and one triple room, all with private bathrooms, aird conditioning, LCD TV, Satellite programmes and free wi-fi. A refrigerator and a microwave oven are also available.
From our b&b you can reach on foot and by public transport most of the monuments of Rome: Pyramid, Testaccio Hill, Aventine, Circus Maximus, Bath of Caracalla, Palatine, Colosseum, Roman Forum and Imperial Fora,Trastevere, Janiculum Hill, Mouth of Truth, Piazza Venezia, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Campo dei Fiori, Castel Sant'Angelo, San Pietro, Piazza del Popolo, Pincio ...............and many many more: Gianni and I are architects and we are happy to suggest you various itineraries full of surprises and fun.
See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Have a good day

  • What a wonderful place to stay, and a lovely host in Elisa! We traveled as six people (2 families) from Australia with adult children and took up all three rooms. Elisa was there to met us and help with the bags upstairs (4 floors) BUT Don't let the 4 floors put you off as Elisa was more than happy to carry bags up. The location is great, clean, we'll serviced for breakfast as well as being quiet and yet close to walk to the major sites or you can catch a bus at the end of the street. Most importantly Elisa is very generous with her suggestions on what you should see, and no not the usual touristy stuff, but some lovely tips to make the most of your visit. HIGHLY recommended. Great host, great location on my MUST return too list! Thank you Elisa for making us feel welcome. Ciao

  • We had a fabulous stay at Elisa's! Elisa was willing to answer any questions we had and gave us some wonderful tips about the city of Rome. Her place was really clean and homey. She provided an assortment of foods for breakfast and had a coffee machine in the b&b. I would stay here again easily! Definitely recommend this place.

  • Elisa is the gold-standrd of AirBnB hosts. She has a tastefully furnished, impeccably clean, comfortable and stylish B&B in Rome's wonderful Testaccio neighborhood. (By the way, if you're worried it's too far from the historical sites, it's not. We walked to the Colosseum, the Piazza Navona, even to the Vatican!) In addition to feeling like you're in a lovely oasis of a room, Elisa furnishes a thousand little comforts that make the stay splendid. There are always snacks available, breakfast is self-serve any time (with delicious treats!), your room has a complimentary basket of snack foods, there is always cold water and coffee and espresso options any time day or night, and you feel very calm there.

Elisa is one of the most kind people I've ever met traveling. She loves her city, she's fabulous intelligent and gracious and everything everyone else has said... but she's also very generous with her time and efforts in a way that exceeded our wildest expectations. My husband and I stayed in the B&B twice during our Italy trip (we flew in and out of Rome), and among the many things Elisa did to make our trip very comfortable, these stand out: 1) She lugged the biggest of our suitcases up the several flights of stairs, because she could tell we were exhausted; 2) She left us a bottle of prosecco and two glasses on the bed, in celebration of our wedding anniversary; 3) She let us leave that giant suitcase there while we traveled south for a few days, and come back and get it; 4) She helped us navigate the pharmacy, when my husband threw his back out -- she had over-the-counter medicine recommendations (including a topical patch we'd never heard of, because it's unavailable in the U.S.) and wrote our instructions in Italian for the pharmacy. We were humbled by Elisa's attention and kindness.

We were also fueled by her joy and excitement. It's like she emits light constantly. If you're looking for a Rome experience that is serene and special, I highly recommend staying here. Elisa may have ruined us for any other AirBnB experience -- she was incredible.

  • The room was very good, clean and comfortabel beds. Elisa is wonderful, she took all the time to show us the nice places on the map en tell about where to eat. Testaccio is a friendly neighbourhood. We counted the stairs (4 floors) up to the appartment, 96... This was the only disadavantage, but easily to forget!

I would recommend this b&b to every one!

  • The bnb was lovely. On the top floor over looking the trees. Mind the stairs. Elisa was a fabulous host. Provided all our special request. Even came quickly when my daughter locked herself out. Close to the bus, metro and great local restaraunts.

  • We stayed 3 nights at the B&B and because it was your first time in Rome we hoped that this was a good place to start. And it was indeed. Elisa was so friendly and helpfull and gave us a good introduction to sightseeing in Rome and things to see and eat that was not in the guidebook. And we loved staying in Testaccio with its local feeling (after staying here we moved to Trastavere for 3 nights but we keept coming back to Testaccio!)
The room at the B&B is so clean and everything is very nice there. I totally recommend Elisa's place!

  • We spent our honeymoon in The house on the trees with Elisa, and we had a wonderful stay!
Elisa welcomed us with champagne in the room, and on my birthday she left a little present.
The personal care Elisa gives you, without being around all the time, is lovely. She can tell you all about Rome, through the eyes of a true architect!
The bed- and bathroom was nice and clean, and the shared kitchen had everything we needed for a nice breakfast or a coffee in-between!
We recommend Elisa's B&B in the trees to everyone who wants to see Rome as Roman do!

  • Elisa's B&B is an amazing and extremely comfortable base from which to enjoy the sights of Rome and yet feel as though you aren't surrounded by tourists. Elisa's warmth and hospitality were obvious immediately as she gave us a very thorough rundown of Rome's sights, how best to move around, and even her favorite restaurants as soon as we arrived. With breakfast and food stocked in the room every morning and full access to the kitchen, Elisa was even thoughtful enough to surprise my wife and I with pro secco to celebrate our anniversary!

The room is immaculate and full of light- the photos do not lie! Highly recommended and you will not be disappointed with your stay here.

  • Our experience with Elisa was absolutely wonderful. She was just as lovely as she sounded from her emails. Could not do enough for us from arrival to departure. Our B & B was perfect, just what we had hoped for. The neighbourhood was good, although we tended to go further afield for eating out. Has a great laundrette close by.
