Spacious yurt. Located in the high desert mule mountains with amazing views of fantastic starry skies, sunsets and sunrises. Close to hiking, the center of town, shopping, restaurants and main roads. Giving you the luxury of the open outdoors, the feeling of privacy with out being secluded. Easily accessible and comfortable. The space is intimate.
Note: Dogs welcome, no other pets please. Resident dogs close by behind their own fenced yard space. Thanks we hope you enjoy yurtself here!
The space
Yurt is located in a beautiful spot, in the mule mountains. At this elevation the views are lovely. Surrounded by nature. If you're into birding or nature watching there are often several birds to view and you may even spot a deer or two. About 30 minutes away is Whitewater Draw nature conservatory and we are also about 25 minutes from to the boarder of Mexico. The nearest grocery store is about a 15 minute drive away. The patio is perfect for star gazing and watching the sunrise.
Host housing is in sight from the yurt.
The yurt experience is somewhat like “glamping” but with a super home like feel. It is an open circular space, equipped with a kitchenette area (two burner hot plate, microwave, toaster oven, air fryer, coffee pot and mini fridge), dining table and couch/seating. Has a stand up shower and toilet area. (The toilet area has a privacy curtain) located next to the shower.
There is AC! AC is provided by swamp cooler and split mini, electricity and hot water and indoor lighting and a porch light. There is a propane fireplace inside yurt, privacy flaps on the windows and removable Velcro windows so you may adjust to your comfort.
Yurt has a TV, DVD player, and Dish satellite.
This is a rural property. The only utility we have is electricity. Water for the property is provided by two deep wells and is filtered before entering dwellings. Toilets are connected to a septic system. Please only use toilet tissue provided. Please remove bits of food and grease before washing eating and cooking utensils.
It’s dark at night on the lands, flash lights provided in yurt for use. Plenty of lighting inside yurt and a soft yellow porch light.

Local mountain wild life you may spot in your travels around the lands and town: javelina, buzzards, ravens, hawks, wild cats, Mexican blue jays and various song birds, small lizards, squirrels, bats, kudamundi (coati), hummingbirds, moths and butterflies. *The insects have woken up for the season be aware that black widows and scorpions and other various insects and snakes could be around, we treat for insects with pet and people friendly products and due to elevation we have been fortunate to rarely have any snakes around, just note that they are in the desert so keep that in mind when hiking the mountains etc.

Guest parking is available, guests are welcome to drive right up to yurt for convenience or park in the yurt driveway area. The roads leading to the yurt are paved, the driveway is not but it's easily accessible.

There are dogs and pups living on the property in fenced in areas, however you may end up hearing them play and we pass by yurt for daily walks so there may be some interaction with them.

Our closest neighbors are down the road. We see friendly dog walkers and bicyclists often on the road outside this airbnb. There's 55 acres of land and you are welcome to explore and hike around. There's a path next to the highway overlook across from the parking area. We are off of the main road and conveniently located to highway 80.
