Interaction with Guests
We love to meet new people, so, with respecting both our and your privacy, we may chat over a cuppa or a meal. We live in the cottage next door so will be around for anything you need to know.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood, nice neighbours. We are close to many facilities, including Baypark sports stadium, Mt. Hotpools, Baywave - a large indoor swimming pool complex, Bayfair shopping mall, many places to eat, weekend markets, numerous water sport activities like surfing, wind surfing, kiteboarding, boating, kayaking etc. Many walks, either through our native forests or coastal.
The 'yellow hopper bus' stop is at the end of our drive, which can take you to neighbouring towns as well as downtown the Mount. We are a 10 min drive from Tauranga airport, where we can pick up or drop off, if you give us enough notice.
Quiet, considerate of our privacy and that of our neighbours. No smoking/pets/parties.
A warm welcome to very comfortable and well appointed accommodation. We felt very much at home for our all too brief stay.
I spent a whole week in Tony and Annie's cottage and just loved it. They were both so very welcoming and helpful, in so many ways. They have a love for, and knowledge of, the area, and New Zealand, that they were very happy to share. The location is just perfect, just a five minute walk from the most incredible beach, and also within walking distance of the downtown. The cottage is compact but very comfortable and has everything you need. It gives you lots of privacy but is also close enough for a chat, or questions. I recommend both the accommodation and the hosts very highly.
We loved this cozy little space with it's fresh breezes blowing through on hot days. It had everything we needed and our hosts were very kind, checking to see how I was feeling after an illness and driving us to Mt Maunganui so we could walk the lovely base trail on a day that was very hot and no parking near downtown due to a long weekend event. We wish we could have stayed longer to explore this area. The only caution I would have is that the door opening to the shower is somewhat restricted and might prove challenging to anyone who is quite a bit overweight.
thanks Jacques, it was a pleasure to meet and host you both, all the best for your future travels.
The shower was already built when we bought the place, too hard to alter! also there is a blue shelf on the wall in the wc, plus a hook and a cupboard to house toilet bags - glad you liked our humble abode. happy travels
A warm welcome was waiting on our arrival and Tony & Annie made us feel very at home from the outset. They also know the Mount and Tauranga very well and were full of great advice. The apartment was very comfy, clean, compact and convenient, just right for a short stay for two.
Annie and Tony were great hosts. They stayed up late to allow us to check in which was very considerate considering Annie had to be up for work the next morning. The space it a small, self-contained house close to the beach. At night we could hear the waves breaking on the shore. Would recommend to anyone, especially surfing enthusiasts.
We had a wonderful stay here! The little cottage is very private and in a great location for walking up and around the beach. Annie and her husband are very friendly and gave us some great info on where we should visit
Annie and Tony are great hosts, they welcomed us with an open heart. Beach was very close to the house. Room was very comfortable. Much recommended.
My husband and I moved to Mount Maunganui mid 2013, having lived in Papamoa with our family since 1986. We love this part of the country, it's beautiful bush walks and of course this spectacular beach, and stunning Mauao. We are keen travellers ourselves and love meeting people from different parts of the world, and NZ!
We value having the opportunity to stay with local people and gain local knowledge about the best places to go - so we hope to give others the same.
