Quiet, quaint neighborhood with older historic homes. Very close to beautiful Notre Dame campus and within walking distance to restaurants, shops and bars on Eddy St.
Easy walk to Notre Dame where public transport to other parts of city and airport/train station are available.
This was our second stay with Pier, Kristen and the White family. They make you feel like part of the family. Easy walk to ND campus. Great porch to read and relax. No hassles. Great people. Great stay.
The Whites were very flexible with my arrival time. They were welcoming and had everything ready. The neighborhood is beautiful and in a very convenient location.
William (Peter), his wife, and his kids are all extremely friendly and personable. They truly are just a few short blocks from Notre Dame. My wife and I were only there for one night, but we walked to an Irish Pub (O'Rourke's) and a chocolate shop (Kilwin's) for dinner and dessert. It's a nice area to stroll through and after a long day on the road it was nice to be out of the car taking a walk!!
The private room and bathroom were all that we needed for our stay. But William was extremely welcoming and let us know that we were welcome to make use of the dining room table if we wanted to relax and have a cup of coffee or take advantage of shuffle board in the basement.
Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed chatting with William and his wife and we are glad we got to take advantage of the proximity to Notre Dame even though we only had one night as we passed through town.
Staying with the White family was truly a home away from home. Every single member of the family made me feel at home! The description of the house, its proximity to campus and convenience were spot on. As a medical student, the pressure of school is always high, but coming "home" everyday was certainly my favorite part of the day. Krissten and Will were very kind and always made the effort to give me guidance on where to eat, buy food and places to go. Whether it be for a conference, visiting Notre Dame or attending a Fighting Irish Football, staying at the White residence is most definitely the way to go. I would recommend it to anyone
Pier (aka William), Kristen, and their entire family (including their nanny) were absolutely wonderful. As soon as I arrived I was made to feel at home and welcomed. The house is close to Notre Dame and all the eating establishments therein, which was perfect for my two day trip to the archives. The room was just as described (and the bed was incredibly comfy) - and I spent an hour in the evening sitting on the porch reading, occasionally joined by one of the White kids (who are all lovely) and waved at by the neighbours. This is a family home and that was perfect for my stay.
My experience was a bit different because my host couldn't be there. Made the house very accessible, but I would have liked some instructions on where to find things like the laundry machine so I could have washed the sheets!
