We stayed for one night at Luz en el Cielo and had a fascinating experience! We stayed in the private tree cabin, which was quite wonderful. It was up on the side of the hill with stone steps leading up to it. Inside, it was open on the far wall, with a railing half way up, and there were also door panels you could pull across to close this off. With the doors open, you felt like you were really in the trees. There (email hidden) that you could pull around the bed so that you could sleep with the doors open. There is also a nice modern-style tile shower with glass wall and a view, toilet room, and two full beds. The cabin is high on the side of the hill in Montezuma and you can hear the ocean at night. We wanted the full experience so we slept with the doors open with the mosquito net around the bed. Fun! Something to be aware of... we really were living with the monkeys who woke us up at 5:30 a.m. Apparently there were two bands of monkeys which were getting into some altercations. Anyway, we heard the howler monkeys with their deep throated howls (apparently they're harmless) and the other monkeys were banging on our roof. It was loud, it woke us up, AND it was also fascinating! We got up with our phone cameras and took pictures and videos of all the monkeys in the trees and on the roof (peeking around). After an hour or so, the monkeys moved on and we were able to go back to sleep. Overall, I wouldn't have missed it because it was definitely a unique experience and the cabin is pretty cool. The reason for 4 versus 5 stars is that I'm not sure I would want to stay many days if the monkeys wake you up every morning. If you're looking for the full jungle experience, this is it!
