Description

The Space

We are committed to providing a comfortable, sacred place for relaxation, healing, meditation and connection to nature. Please note, with all three of our units, we require a full weekend reservation (must rent unit both Friday and Saturday nights) and we have a policy of no alcohol or drugs allowed on the property.
The Roost is a self-contained upstairs A-frame apartment with two bedrooms and a sleeping loft. To find it, once you park by the main entrance, go towards the front door by the water fountain, turn to your left and the Roost is at the top of the stairs.
The Roost features a minimal cooking kitchenette, quaint living room with a sofa bed which opens into a full sized hide-a-bed, a private bathroom with shower (there is another full bathroom with shower also available to you in the downstairs Temple Room), and a large viewing deck with amazing views overlooking the forest.

In keeping with the nature of the area, we have named each of the three living areas after the local winged-ones: "The Hawk" has a southwest styled California king-sized bed that can also be made into two twin-sized beds; "The Raven" has two comfy southwest styled twin beds which can also be made into a king-sized bed; "The Eagle's Nest," is a loft with two twin beds.

The kitchenette (NOT a meal cooking facility and is NOT a full kitchen. It is only suitable for snacks and reheating small meals/leftovers only) includes: a tea kettle with tea, a toaster oven, dinnerware, silverware, mugs and glasses, a coffee maker with coffee, creamer and sugar, a mini fridge (with super mini freezer), a hot plate, pots and pans, and instant oatmeal for breakfast. Clean well water from the tap to drink. Does NOT include a microwave (to keep emf's low). Also, all rentals have access to our outdoor five-burner Chargrill downstairs in the patio area. Please let us know ahead of time if you would like to use it so we can be sure its available. Thank you!

The unspoiled natural beauty of the Coconino National Forest, local wildlife and nature, our medicine wheel, tipi, stupa and awesome night-time star-gazing creates the perfect setting for a peaceful escape. Relax, unwind and tune-in to the magic of the land here amidst the high vibration energy of the red rocks and forestry of beautiful Sedona.

Your hostess, Meaghan, as a practicing medicine woman, offers her holistic healing methods to her guests including: Pranic Energy Healing, Reiki, Sacred Ceremonies, Horse Divination and Healing, intuitive readings, spiritual counseling and more. She and her partner, Rick, also teach horsemanship and riding lessons on our gentle horses here on the property. Please give Sedona Sacred Rocks a call for further info, or check out sedonasacredrocks, and reserve a time especially for you or your family if you are interested in booking any of these services during your stay. Also note: contact us to be certain that there are appointment times available BEFORE you book your room/vacation with us if you'd like to schedule any healing sessions, ceremonies or riding lessons during your stay as spaces are limited and we are away occasionally and sometimes not available. (Please also understand you are certainly more than welcome to book your vacation with us if you are NOT interested in any extra services, as we warmly welcome everyone.)
Also, check out our medicine bags, jewelry, crystals and hand-made crafts available in the Temple Room store hand made by Meaghan her friends, Rebekah and Valerie.

We also love to share our outdoor spaces: relax and watch the sunset by the koi pond; tune in to the nature around you on the meditation path; share ceremonial drumming or quiet time in our tipi; walk the medicine wheel or put prayers in the stupa; pet our friendly four legged friends, the dogs Meli and Francis, and the horses Magi, Brogan, Kosmo, and Cece, also our kitty, Yin.
We have a variety of comfortable rooms and rates available. See our other accommodations here on Airbnb by going to our profile: “The Mountain Lion" and "The Deer Suite".

Guest Access

Miles upon miles for hiking and admiring Sedona's natural, stunning beauty. Please note: there are no trails per say out our back door but we enjoy going out in the forest to walk the dry creek area. The closest trails are about a 7 minute car ride to Red Rock State Park and Red Rock Crossing.

Interaction with Guests

We reside here in the main house and will be present during your stay should you need anything, and we love to interact with our guests especially to share any information about the magic and beauty of Sedona, great hikes, tours, restaurants and of course, share our ceremonies and the holistic services Meaghan provides.

Here's our ceremony and event schedule. Please rsvp to reserve your slot for each ceremony/event. All run about an hour each and we gratefully accept donations for them. Suggested amount --$10 per ceremony per person.

Every Morning @ 8am... Morning Medicine Wheel Ceremony
Mondays @ 7pm... Shamanic drum journey in the Tipi or Temple room w/ Meaghan.
Wednesdays @ 7pm... Crystal Chakra Bowl Sound Healing in the Temple Room w/ Meaghan
Fridays @ 7pm... Twin Hearts Meditation with Rick

We can also recommend any restaurants, massage therapists, tour guides, etc. Please don't hesitate to ask if need anything in your room or any recommendations...we are just a text, call or knock-on-the-door away. :)

The Neighborhood

We respect that our neighbors enjoy the peace and quiet of this very special and magical place. Our absolute favorite neighbors are the coyote, deer, rabbits, javalina, roadrunners, hawk, hummingbirds, bluejays, and the occasional lynx and mountain lions. Please respect the naturalness of the area by staying on designated trails and be aware that there are snakes and scorpions in the desert.

Getting Around

We are only about 7 minutes from West Sedona, there is no public transportation available from the property.

Other Things to Note

Greeted Check-in time is from 3pm - 6pm and check-out is at 11am. If you are arriving past 6pm, we have a self check-in policy and the information to find your room is on your confirmation page so please save it if you are arriving past 6pm. :) Also, please note, we have private one lane gravel/paved roads with potholes and no street lights. Keep this in mind and come before dark if you aren't a seasoned navigator! :)
Please be aware that I have a strict policy of no arrivals past 10pm out of respect to our neighbors and to those of us who go to bed by 10pm. Please also note: we have a two night minimum stay on the weekends and also note there are no TV's in our rooms to keep EMF levels to a minimum for your relaxation and peace. Also, please be aware that we have a swamp cooler in the Roost, and also included in the main area is a portable swamp cooler for the really hot days, which is a unit that works as an air coolant. In the winter, we have oil lamp heaters for each room and the common area/living room. Booking price includes all taxes.

Meaghan And Rick

Sedona, Arizona, United States · Member since January 2014

Hello! We are your hosts and hostesses, Meaghan, Rick, Valerie and Jessica. Sedona Sacred Rocks, a former Bed and Breakfast and also a former Buddhist Retreat Center, rests on two secluded Red Rock acres adjoining two thousand acres of the Coconino National forest. I, (Meaghan), recently opened Sedona Sacred Rocks, a Metaphysical bnb (Bed and Bathroom ;), from which I share my gifts and life experience with anyone who wants to heal, to connect to nature and the beauty in Life and within. Our team offers Medicine Wheel ceremony each morning (8am); Monday night Shamanic Journeying in the Tipi (7pm); Wednesday night Sound Healing w/ Crystal Chakra Bowls (7pm); and Friday night Twin Hearts Meditation (7pm); also Full and New Moon Ceremonies. Also, please let any of us know if you'd like to schedule any healing sessions, ceremony, rides or activities to include during your stay. From healing, horses and Sacred Land discovery with Meaghan... or Rick, our resident Sedona expert and horseman, to Sacred Ceremony with Meaghan, Gentle Thunder, Rick or Valerie....we can provide you with all you could want for an amazing Sedona experience. I'm so glad you found our beautiful place and hope you enjoy your stay here on this magical and sacred land.

More about Meaghan:

Previously a successful professional trainer and rider of show horses for twenty plus years, Meaghan recently became a mother to two wonderful boys, Zacciah and Xavier, (her two most profound teachers)! Her life then changed dramatically as she realized that she wanted to help create a better world for herself, her children and future generations. Meaghan then took all of her gifts as a horse trainer, a Mother, an intuitive and Pranic Energy Medicine practitioner/Reiki Master and combined them to help anyone wanting to find healing; to remember how to recognize the Magic in life and to reconnect to Spirit. Meaghan's offerings include Horse Divination and Energy Medicine, prayer/intention, ceremony, sound healing, Reiki attunements & classes, Drumming and more. In most cases, her horses act as her assistants and guides to facilitate healing for each individual's personal journey. She is also available to travel and teach workshops on her Horse Divination and the Magic of Horses Program and Reiki classes through Master Level.
Meaghan (and Rick, too) still teaches riding lessons at Sedona Sacred Rocks and is also available to come to teach and train horses and their partners at their home or farm. Her methods encourage them to take their riding to higher levels of communication, understanding and effective partnership through centeredness. Meaghan also enjoys reconnecting people with nature, our Earth Mother and the powerful stillness within....where we are all perfection.
