Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Welcome to Wonder Haus - a place created to slow time, sharpen the senses, and invite a little wonder back into everyday life. Set on 7 private acres in Pagosa Springs, this architectural retreat was designed for curiosity, connection, and peaceful moments.

Featured on Netflix’s World’s Most Amazing Vacation Rentals, Wonder Haus offers a one-of-a-kind stay for guests who value presence over polish.

The space
“The world is full of magic things, patiently waiting for our senses to grow sharper.” — W.B. Yeats

Set on 7 private acres in Pagosa Springs, Wonder Haus offers a truly one-of-a-kind stay — quiet, intentional, and unlike anything else in the area.

Wonder Haus is located in the Pagosa Lakes neighborhood, about a 5-minute drive to uptown Pagosa Springs, with easy access to dining, shopping, hiking, hot springs, and ski areas.

Guests also have access to the Pagosa Lakes Recreation Center (pool, hot tub, gym) via affordable day passes, just down the hill.

Guest access
A few important things to know (so expectations stay aligned):

• Maximum of 6 overnight guests (strictly enforced per city regulations).
• Loft areas shown on Netflix are no longer accessible due to Archuleta County fire code requirements.
• Wonder Haus is a passive solar home, designed to work with the sun and seasons rather than against them.

During winter months, the average indoor temperature is around 66°F. We provide plenty of extra blankets, space heaters, and a starter supply of firewood to keep things cozy, but if you prefer tropical indoor temps year-round, this may not be the right fit (and that’s okay).

Other things to note
A few house notes

• Strict fire ban in effect: no outdoor fires or smoking.
• Cooling in summer: close drapes during the day.
• Heating in winter: open blinds to welcome the sun, keep exterior doors closed.
• Fans and space heaters are located in the guest closet under the stairs.
• Please tend the fireplace responsibly.

Neighborhood highlights

"Surrounded by the 2.5-million-acre San Juan National Forest and overshadowed by the 12,000-foot peaks of the San Juans, this Rockies outpost shares much of the same terrain as Durango, 60 minutes west—with fewer crowds. So chances are good you’ll find room in the new Pagosa Hut and Trail System, a 36-mile network of backcountry paths. Bonus: Pagosa averages 300 sunny days a year.

PLAY
The San Juan River, which cuts right through the heart of Pagosa Springs, has some of the country’s best Rainbow fly fishing, thanks to a blitz stocking of some 9,000 fish last summer. Give the Continental Divide Trail a go—on two fat tires. Grind out the 18-mile CDT Alberta Peak Loop in granny gear, and you’ll be rewarded with alpine meadow views that would make Maria von Trapp jealous. No bike? No problem. The gearheads at Pagosa Outside will set you up with one for $35 a day, and share their expertise free of charge (pagosaoutside.com). Come winter, you can let the lifts do the work, as they carry you to the 12,000-foot summit of Wolf Creek Ski Area (all-day lift tickets from $52; wolfcreekski.com)."
