Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
This spacious 1000 Sq ft guest suite with private bath has flexible furnishings that can be set up to create a cozy movie/popcorn night or open up for morning yoga.

Hiking trails leave from your door into an expansive park. We are an urban farm garden and have chickens and goats. Visit on Tuesday evenings (May - Oct) to enjoy a local farmers market on the property. Absolutely no smoking of any kind.

We respect diversity and inclusion.

Ask us about booking garden tours or campfires.

The space
The guest suite is part of Flicker & Fir - our farm that hosts various events to encourage people to love all inhabitants of the earth. Arrangements can be made to help out in the garden or other farm projects.

You can see all sorts of unusual items around our farm: chicken tractor, living willow bridge (under construction), low-till garden, old barn, hop farm history, native plants, pollinator gardens and more.

The kitchen area is ready for you to cook up your own food or to reheat yummy leftovers from a local restaurant. Amenities include a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, tea kettle, blender, coffee pot, baking dishes, bowls, popcorn maker, pots/pans and plates, silverware, mugs etc. Our guests love how well stocked the entire kitchen is, even the utensil drawers! Enjoy our 2019 remodel, where we installed local kitchen cabinets and granite countertops.

You have access to the entire 1000 sq feet space, and that's with a private bathroom.

Guest access
You have the entire 1000 sq feet to yourself! Enjoy!

Other things to note
This is a 2nd story suite. There is no elevator.

It's dark outside when you are in the country, so you may want to bring a flashlight if you’re going to venture out at night. It also can be mucky in the fall, winter, and spring.... so plan your footwear accordingly.

Country living is different from the city. We are on a well and have mineral deposits in our yummy tasting water. You may notice some mineral deposits on surfaces even when they are sparkly clean.

There also could be ambient noise including lawn mowers (ours is electric!) and the occasional chain saw or other power tool during daylight hours. Leave your windows open to complete your country living experience with the occasional calls of our neighbors’ rooster, ducks, and geese. Trouble sleeping? You can count our neighbors sheep (currently 3) that occasionally pasture on our land.

A quick word about feedback. As a rule, I don't do what a lot of hosts do and insist that my guests have previous Airbnb experiences. I've had great experiences with "newbies" and am delighted to be your first! The only place I notice this getting me in trouble is with feedback. After your stay, Airbnb will send you a note asking you to rate your stay in 5 areas as they will ask me to rate 3 things about you. What seems to happen a lot is that, never having done this before, folks sometimes think they need to save their 5 star rating for some perfect unicorn-like future experience and figure that 4 is way above average so that's great, right? Sadly, it turns out that Airbnb goes on the "everyone gets a gold star" model and so, if you were satisfied, it's kind of traditional to give 5 stars down the line. Anything less quickly sends me tumbling down in the ratings. In return, that's what I do for you as well so that, in the future, when other hosts are looking at you they see this awesome 5 star person. Let's make each other look good here! We're both awesome, right?

Neighborhood highlights

Our neighborhood feels very rural, and our 5 acres borders a large park and natural area. Walking in the neighborhood is enjoyable (finding little libraries and giant trees and unique houses), and you will see families out walking or biking too. Very friendly, rural feeling.

Neighbors have roosters, sheep, ducks and geese. We have chickens and goats. You may hear ambient farm noises even with your windows closed. We have A/C, though it's rarely needed as our nights cool down even in the summer.

Take a pleasant 1/2 mile walk through the park and natural areas where there are many miles of trails and allow you to dip your toes in the Willamette River.

We can arrange a tour of Coho Ecovillage that neighbors our property.
