This comfortable cottage is situated in the heart of West Cork on quiet country road in Dunmanway, 10 min walk from shops, pubs and restaurants etc. Ideal for touring the area and visiting nearby Clonakilty, Bantry, Skibbereen, Inchadoney, Killarney
The cottage is rebuilt around an old stone structure. There are 4 bedrooms, one ensuite bedroom (with shower) and double bed. One bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. One bedroom with a double bed. One bedroom with a single bed.
There is a bathroom with a toilet downstairs.
The kitchen has a beautiful stone floor. There is a washing machine, dryer and a dishwasher.
The dining space is lovely and bright.
There is a large sitting room with a wood burning stove.
The garden goes all around the house. In the front there is grass and a large trampoline for children. On the side there is a picnic table and seats and lots of space. The garden is closed off with heavy wooden gates, so very safe for children to play in.
The only users of the road are a few other residents or walkers so it is very quiet and safe.

Interaction with Guests
We will be there to give keys and show you around. There are lots of family members 5 minutes away in town so if we are away at work etc there'll be someone to assist you.
This area is a beautiful part of rural Ireland. The coast is just 20 minutes drive away. If you like food and the sea this is the place for you! The area is famous for its gastronomy: the renowned restaurants of Clonakilty and Bantry are both 25 mins drive away and Kinsale is about 35 minutes. What I love most is taking walks around the coastline. We are close to Skibbereen, Baltimore, Schull, Sheep's Head and Courtmacsherry. Glengariff, Castletownbere and the Beara Way are a scenic hour's drive away . You can take day trips to Sherkin island or Dursey. Killarney and its beautiful lakes are also an hour's drive from here. My personal favourite is Gougane Barra (30 mins drive away) its church by the lake and the walks in the National park there. A favourite with the children are the sand dunes in Inchadoney.
There is trout fishing in local rivers and lakes just 10 minutes away.
Dunmanway town itself is a great place to go for a drink in the evening, and only a walk away so you don't have to drive. You can also play pitch and putt on the local golf course and there is a swimming pool and playground too.
If you are interested in Irish history, we are nearby the site of the Kilmichael ambush and 30 minutes from Michael Collins' birthplace and the Béal na Blath Memorial.
There is a bus service to Bantry and Cork city. To explore the area it would advisable to have a car.

For anyone looking for a no fuss, no frills location, this house was ideal. As a base for a family kids, this house is ideal: ample space both inside and out, very safe location and garden, helpfully left toys, and no shelving full of cut glass crystal or priceless china that needs to be defended. Plus 20mins drive brings you to a host of West Cork's finest locations.
The house was great - loads of space. There were 8 of us +1 infant so space was important. Great location to go visiting other nearby towns. The hosts were great too. We had a problem working the oven when we arrived and it was sorted straight away.
Had a lovely time earlier this month in Dunmanway. The house was great for four adults and a baby. Mags was a great host, and made us all feel welcome.
The house itself is a family home, with all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay.
The house is a nice place, in Dunmanway. We had a car, and you'll need one, as there is not much in the town proper.
Sean met us in town and directed us to the house - very helpful.
Nice house, comfortable.
Good laundry, dishwasher, etc.
Good parking and nice area.
Needs a real coffee maker!
I am a visual artist and I recently returned to Ireland after 15 years so travelling is very much part of my life. My partner spent almost 10 years in Asia and Australia so we love meeting other travellers. West Cork is a beautiful part of Ireland best known for it's landscape and great food and a place I love to spend time in. Between us we have 5 children so the house is very much a child-friendly place. There is a closed garden with a trampoline, go-karts, bikes and table and chairs as well as closed off run for any family pets. Don't hesitate to contact me to ask any other questions about us or the house.
