Carola & Mauro were wonderful hosts and the apartment was perfect for our stay in Rome. It was so nice to have them waiting for us at the Villa Bonelli train station upon our arrival. The location was safe and quiet, with easy access to public transportation. The apartment had everything we needed, along with plenty of maps, brochures, and information on the city. As other reviews have noted, the location is a bit outside the hustle and bustle, but we saw this as positive. If you're in search of a quiet, clean, and safe alternative to a hotel, look no further.
"Wow!" - it's the same what I heard from some my internal voice, when I entered in the apartment. But before my words about the wonderful advantages of this apartment, I would like to say about amazing hosts! Firstly, Carola was always in touch, quickly responding on any messages. With her daughter they met us on our way to the house on the street, and it's even after we had to change the flight and came to Rome in 1-2 hours before midnight! They were attentive, friendly, positive; we felt they were glad to host us, it was an awesome experience!
The apartment was perfect for our staying. It was clean, nicely furnished, and contained everything we need (even with airconditioning). Carola and Mauro provided all necessary notes with map about directions to get to bus stops, store etc. We stayed with our baby, and felt very comfortable ourself there (our little daughter loved a lot of space in the apartment). Now, when I talked about our Europe trip I always mentioned this terrific apartment (together with Eiffel tower and Colosseo). I definitely recommend this apartment to everyone, who would like to stay in Rome.
The apartment is beautiful! Carola had champagne waiting for us and all kinds of maps and tourist information that we could use during our stay. The location is a little far away from a lot if things so be prepared to use the train a lot. On the other hand, it is a very quiet residential neighborhood, which was nice to come back to after a busy day of sight seeing.
Greetings to everyone who will open this page in searches of a place for a stop in eternal city.
Carola and Mauro hospitable owners are very affable also. Their apartments for those who in the center of Rome after walk, wishes to take pleasure in a glass of wine in silence and to not feel in stone jungle of the big city. Very cosy садик. In the house there is all necessary for a comfortable life.

Carola and Mauro were the perfect host and hostess. They met us at the train station to help with our luggage. The apartment was lovely. It was neat, clean, nicely furnished and had airconditioning. They left notes and directions for everything a tourists would need such as bus maps, location of grocery stores and bus maps. STaying at the apt enhanced our stay in Rome.
We stayed at Al Fresco for 3 nights in June and that was a great experience for us!
First, while I was making the reservation, Carola answered all my questions instantly and sufficiently. We kept in touch during our trip to Rome, so we had no problems getting to Villa Bonelli.
Next, arriving to the place, we found Carola and Mauro waiting for us at the station! The apartment itself is as attractive as it looks in the photos on Airbnb. It is extremely clean, cosy and comfortable, tastefully decorated and peaceful. Now, in June, we have got a spring/summer bonus - birds singing all around and sweet smelling flowers...
The apartament is very well equipped with all the stuff that can be useful during a stay. The terrace/garden is perfect for leisure or having meals. The surrounding is green, rather quiet and beautiful.
It also turned out that the place is very well communicated to the centre of Rome. The train goes to Trastevere station only for 3 minutes, and another couple of minutes to Piramide station (where one can switch to Metro). There are also buses going to the City.
Finally I would like to mention our hosts. Carola and Mauro are very nice people, helpful and hospitable. It was a pleasure for us to stay at their place!
Our experience at Mauro and Carola's apartment was fantastic. We can't express more our absolute joy at staying at their place for 3 glorious days to start our 6 week European holiday. Both Mauro and Carola were gracious, warm, kind, hospitable, and always there if we needed something (especially organising our taxi for our 0645 flight to Spain). Their apartment is just super luxury. It has everything you need, is comfortable, spacious, full of light, and feels like home. We appreicate everything that Mauro and Carola did for us, and we definitely will stay with them next time we stay in Roma.
Carola and Mauro are amazing hosts. They answered all our questions promptly and helped us a lot in terns of how to move around Rome.
The apartment was great, super spacious and comfortable. Ideal after a whole day of walking around the city!
Everything was super clean and we felt right at home during our stay.
We recommend this place and we highly recommend dealing with such amazing hosts!
Carola and Mauro are perfect hosts. They helped us with every single thing we needed, and it wasn't so easy, considering that we were travelling with a baby. The hosts provided us with a baby bed, a bath, umbrellas, and even a blender to make baby food. Thanks so much! Carola and Mauro are very responsive and answered all our questions within about 10 minutes. They really cared for us and tried to make our stay perfect.
The place is very sweet to say the least. The photos speak for themselves. It's also very well equipped, you have about everything you may need there. I think it's also a perfect place to stay in hot summer days. The two things that we were a bit uncomfortable with were the distance from the city center (I knew the place was in a quiet area, but I didn't realize we'll need to travel 40 min by bus to get to the center. it was a real challenge with a baby) and the fact that our cell phones didn't have network coverage in the apartment (we had to go outside to send an sms). But overall our experience was very pleasant. And if it wasn't for the baby the bus ride would not be a problem.
I had a wonderful stay at Carola and Mauro's apartment. The apartment is beautifully decorated and has everything one could need. Carola and Mauro were very attentive and helped in every way possible - even offering to help me to get to the train with my bags on the way to the airport. I recommend that you book this apartment for your stay in Rome.
