Interaction with Guests
I enjoy meeting people and sharing meals, entertainment. But I respect your privacy and the level of interaction that's comfortable for you. But I hope you're not a total recluse!
Austinites think this neighborhood is WAAAY out, but in truth, you can get almost anyplace from downtown through North Austin in 20 minutes. It'll take about 30 minutes for South Austin destinations.
The area does have a feel of being in the boonies because the route from 290 includes about 2 miles of rural land. It really adds a relaxing feel to your commute.
Having a car is mandatory because there is no bus route in the immediate area as yet. If you need to get transportation set up, I'd be willing to help out for a short term.
Other Things to Note
I have a small dog. No guest pets allowed.
No smoking indoors. No drugs on property. All overnight guests must be pre-authorized.
Staying with Paulette was a real God send. She was the first person I ever tried doing an Airbnb with, and was not sure how it would all go. I was particularly nervous at first because, I was moving back to TX. but living in a new city (Austin) after living nine years in Los Angeles. On top of that I was starting culinary school, so suffice to say there was many changes going on at once.
Considering how I've been through many "Craigslist" living situations in LA where things can go awry with the person you're staying with, I was very grateful to find that Paulette was very hospitable, kind, and generous with her home. She helped to make this very chaotic transition time a bit more smoother, and was very comforting through some of these rough patches of change - like another mom!
I know that we will still definitely keep in touch, and she has a great lovable and silly dog as well. Her house was just as described, with a nice little winding rural road to get there. The house is very spacious and definitely gave me lots of room to spread out my books at times to study. She's located about six miles away from Le Cordon Bleu if you attend the school, and need a place to stay. I would definitely recommend her to anyone!
As the advertisment says : Clean, pretty suburban home. Quiet neighbourhood. Paulette is a polite person with a great chat. Due to unexpected events the bed wasn't as described, but it wasn't Paulette fault. Under normal conditions I highly recommend it.
I had a great stay. It's a very nice, clean home, and a place where I felt very safe. Paulette is an accommodating and kind host.
I've been staying at Paulette's house for 1 month, and I certainly will continue staying here until May, 2015! She is a friendly, honest, and smiling person. Her house is very comfortable, and her neighborhood is quiet and safe. The house is always clean, and her kitchen is great and big. The room is very nice, and there is ample storage for my clothes. The house is 12 miles from downtown Austin, and the best way to get there is by car or motorcycle. I'm lucky to have found Paulette in Austin, and now I can call her my friend.
Paullette was a great host for my month in Austin. Her house was very clean and in a nice neighborhood. I could get anywhere I wanted to in Austin in 20 mins, depending on the traffic. She has a nice little dog who always wanted to play. Definitely a good stay
Paulette is incredibly nice. I enjoyed hanging out with her, her dog is super sweet.
The house is fantastic. the backyard is really pretty.
The room is really clean and nice. My stay was just Great!
About the Host, Paulette
I'm a middle-aged female with an active but quiet life-style. I like making new friends and sharing my home. I'm a vegetarian and enjoy gardening and singing in the church choir.
My adorable dog likes to play with my roommates. Otherwise he sits like a king on his throne in the living room and jumps to the top of the (forbidden) couch about 10 seconds after I'm gone.
I'm working from home, so I my ideal guest has his or her own day job. I don't need distractions from 9-5.
