Interaction with Guests
We live next door and are available for all your needs, questions, concerns and information. We can point you to all our favorite hiking, biking, eating, drinking, etc.
Mendocino has so much to offer like Ocean kayaking, rivers, beaches, redwoods, dining, wine tasting, shopping and hiking. Our cottage offers great access to all of these opportunities, as well as a restful retreat from your every-day worries.
Public transportation is very limited in Mendocino. The best way to get around is by foot, bike, or car.
Other Things to Note
About cell coverage: Verizon and US Cellular work wonderfully. AT&T and T-Mobile have no coverage at the cottage, but will work in the village of Mendocino.
We do have a rooster that resides about two hundred feet from the cabin. He's not obnoxious, but he does crow a bit in the morning.
Please no smoking except outside on patio.
Please conserve water (we're on a poorly producing well).
Please relax and enjoy yourself.
What a fabulous place! We enjoyed much privacy in the cutest little place ever. Every detail was attended to and the eggs and wine were such thoughtful gifts. This was our first AirBnB experience and it was just great. We'd definitely come here again. Thank you Daniel family!
We absolutely loved this place!!
Morgan was very accommodating and helpful in directing us to some good food and a great place to hike a really nice redwood grove.
The place itself was more than I expected really. It is located in a very nice and quite tucked away spot. The cabin was very roomy with a fully stocked kitchen and farm fresh eggs! Even a bottle of wine. Love the gas fireplace that we used both nights when it got chilly. The cabin is surrounded by beautiful landscaping. I loved all of the flowers. We even saw a mother deer outsize the window the second morning.
The bed was super comfy and there were extra blankets available in the cabin. Bathroom came stocked with nice toiletries and plenty of towels.
If we were to ever make it back to Mendocino, we would definitely stay in this cabin again. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place and the owners. They were prepared for our every need.
A gorgeous, private cabin!
Lovely separate house! It really is a place where you can move right in and just live there. The kitchen had everything we (family w 1 kid) needed for our holiday, and the outside area is real nice. The house was really clean and uncluttered and the hosts were lovely and a joy to deal with. Totally quiet area. We had deers outside the kitchen window a few times. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.
Our stay at Morgan's cabin was nothing short of amazing. The cabin itself is very cozy and we felt right at home instantly. It was such a nice place to kick back and watch Netflix after our daily adventures exploring Mendocino and the surrounding areas. Morgan and Vivian were very welcoming and gave us pointers on where we could find whatever it was we were looking for. They even let us borrow their bikes for the afternoon and we took a very nice ride along Big River. The fresh eggs from their chickens were an awesome bonus to staying here also. The town center is very close by (2-3min by car) and there are a bunch of nice places to eat or do some shopping. I don't think we had a bad meal all week! If and when we come back to Mendo we will be looking to stay with Morgan and Vivian again!!!
This little cabin was beautiful, quiet, and more than what the pictures show. The host was very friendly and accomodating with many little extras like fresh eggs, english muffins, little vases with fresh flowers. To top it off, Morgan is a wood worker as is my husband and he was kind enough to show him his shop and some of the things he was working on. The yards is beautiful, the weather was beautiful and we couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.
My husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary at Morgan and Viv's cottage. This cottage was absolutely adorable. Very homey and had everything we needed stocked in the kitchen. The garden was amazing to sit in and eat breakfast or enjoy a glass of wine. Morgan and Viv seemed were very friendly and even let us enjoy their bikes and recommended a beautiful ride close to the cottage. I would spend every weekend here if I could. A special Thanks to our hosts for sharing this beautiful cottage with us.
About the Host, Morgan
My Wife, Vivian, and I live in Mendocino, CA. We are healthcare professionals (Vivian is a RN; I am a paramedic). We love the outdoors, music, and gardening. We have 3 children, ages 10, 17, and 22.
We have done a lot of traveling. Every year we put a lot of work into making sure we're getting our fix! We've traveled extensively in Latin America. We've also been to Europe and China. Vivian went to Haiti as part of the medical relief effort after the earthquake in 2010. We love getting into the mountains for both summer and winter activities. This year we are traveling to France and Italy.
It is a pleasure to now have a space of our own that we can offer to travelers. We look forward to meeting you and providing you with a peaceful retreat.
