Cozy room in a lovely house, views of the Harbor and convenient walking distance to restaurants, galleries, etc.
This is a lovely room on our 1st floor. It is adjacent to Room # 2. Room #1 has a bedroom view of the Harbor. The rooms share a bathroom with walk-in shower. There is a separate entry on first floor. We typically don't use the 1st floor when we have guests. Each room comes with full bed. We are located right in downtown Gig Harbor. Maximum of 2 persons per room. Living room area has large screen TV with internet video selections (netflix, bbc, etc.), sofa, chair and view -- and shared if Room # 1 and #2 are in use. Home overlooks the Harbor, yacht moorings and an awesome view of Mount Rainier when it is out. Two to twenty minute walk along the harbor quay to a variety of restaurants, wine bars, lively taverns, art galleries, boutiques, bookstores, small grocery, etc. Beautiful, quiet and clean. No kitchen facilities but plenty of restaurants within 2 to 30 minute walk -- you choose -- seafood, Thai, Nouveau Northwest, Italian, etc. Lovely views are yours come rain or shine. Great home base to go see Tacoma art galleries, Museum of Glass, Gig Harbor Historical Museum, Seattle Art Museum, Space Needle, EMP Museum, Washington State Ferry is a half hour away and can take you to Seattle the easy way.
Shared living room and bathroom if Room #1 is in use.

Thank you to John and Maureen for sharing their beautiful home- it's a truly lovely space, and view! We appreciated the welcome from Maureen and dinner recommendations in Gig Harbor. Everything was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is modern with a sweet stone-lined shower, the furnishings are mostly restored antiques, and there is original artwork throughout. There are cafes and restaurants within a very short walk down a neat wooden stairway. Highly recommended for a stay in the Gig Harbor area.
John and Maureen are fabulous hosts. Their home is stunning and it sits (as pictured), in the spot of Gig Harbor with the absolute best view. The accommodations were spotless, comfortable and the view visible from the bed!
Perhaps best of all was the location that offered the entire scenic harbor with restaurants, pubs, etc. within easy walking distance. One could truly stay here with no vehicle at all and enjoy all the best that Gig Harbor has to offer.
I cannot recommend the Dentler's home strongly enough to the airbnb community. A great value by any measure. I fully intend to return.
The room & accommodations were everything as stated and more. A private entry & I had the downstairs to myself (much needed) and came & went at my leisure. The bedroom & bathroom are top notch . Lovely views, yard, weather (did you plan that John?) and easy to get anywhere from this location.
They were both friendly and interesting. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
I was in Gig Harbor for a work meeting & was struck by its beauty, so made a snap decision to see if I could stay a night. John fit me in despite my extremely short notice. It's a lovely place with a beautiful view, especially from the roof. I shared a glass of wine with John & Maureen and really enjoyed chatting with intelligent, well-traveled people!
The lush garden and vibrant flowers right outside your doorstep are just as stunning as the views of the harbor and mountain. The bedrooms were comfortable, bathroom was gorgeous, and the living room was nice (although we opted to hang out on the pristine lawn and admire the views most of the time). John and his wife were incredibly hospitable and knowledgeable of the area. As another guest previously stated, the room is best for two people, but we did manage to fit a futon for our toddler AND a pack and play in there!

I've traveled to every continent (including Antarctica - two times) except for Asia. Easy going! My wife is an ER Physician. We like the outdoors, hiking, fishing, travel, etc.
