Greeted by fresh scones, jam, butter and a pint of milk and a lit peat fire. The perfect welcome after a longish journey. The cottage was spotlessly clean and everything very neatly presented and Pauline charming, welcoming and helpful. The cottage itself has three large bedrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped. There a few extra things provided that are not listed on the Airbnb website like towels and a hairdryer. The peat stove in the sitting room makes it very cosy. It met all the requirements perfectly. Situated on a quiet lane with offstreet parking. The area is absolutely stunning, numerous beautiful walks along the cliffs, dolphin watching, good surfing up the coast at Lahnich. We also hired bikes from the hardware shop in Kilkee and did a wonderful bike ride around the Loop Head. It is an absolutely wonderful area to explore and we wish we'd had longer than our five days. Highly recommended and I hope you enjoy the cottage as much as we did.

Pauline and her family are very friendly! We just had to text her when we knew about what time we would arrive. We where late but that was no problem for her. She was waiting for us outside the house and she already put on the fireplace, got scones for us and some other stuff. She showed us the house. Its a beautiful house and everything you need is there. The surrounding is awesome as well! They told us about loop head drive so we made that round the next day and it was really cool! We had a lovely stay with pauline and her family and we would recommend other people to go as well. The contact with Pauline is smooth and she answers quick if you send her a message. Just book and enjoy beautiful Ireland and all the nice people there!

A great week was had. The cottage worked out great for the three of us. Only a short drive from Kilkee. The scones on arrival were very welcome. The host struck the right balance. She made sure we were alright but at the same time was not intrusive. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to return.

Pauline was a very welcoming and generous host. The cottage was lovely, beautifully decorated, scrupulously clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The location, on Pauline and Michael's farm, is really charming. We really appreciated being greeted with freshly made scones, and with a turf fire going, as the weather was a bit chilly. A great place to get away from it all and appreciate rural Ireland, while being close to the many attractions of the Loop Head area, information on which is usefully assembled in a folder in the cottage.

Pauline and Michael are two of the kindest people we have met. They took great care to make us feel welcome and "at home". The cottage was clean and well furnished! Our little girls had a blast watching the kittens in the barn behind the cottage! Only 8 minutes drive to Carrigaholt (where we ate twice at The Long Dock and went on a dolphin watch tour) and the Wild Atlantic Way! What a wonderful first taste of Ireland we had!

Pauline and Michael were the most warm and welcoming of hosts, and greeted us with smiles and a plate of home-baked scones and jam for breakfast. As a lovely bonus, our first morning we got to see their herd of cows kick up their heels as they were happily led to a grassier pasture, and at night Michael generously came by and started our peat fire for us which made our cozy cottage that much cheerier. Overall, we had a wonderful time at gorgeous Loophead Peninsula and would absolutely return again!

We loved our four days at Doonaha Island Cottage. Pauline and her husband Michael were excellent hosts, the cottage suited the needs of our five person family perfectly, and the area has many beautiful sights to see, including dolphins, dramatic cliffs and so many water views. We hope to visit again!

Together with my husband Michael I run a small farm in West Clare as well as working part time as nurse in a local facility catering for adults with special needs. We love Irish music, supporting our local sports team and taking long walks in the locality. Since renovating Doonaha Island House we have enjoyed meeting the people from around the world who have come to holiday in our unique locality.
