Rosemarie was very friendly. She didn't speak any English, but she called her daughter on her cell phone to translate any questions I might have. But, I didn't have any questions - sign language worked just fine.
There were two apartments in her house and she let me pick which one we wanted. They were both very spacious. We chose the downstairs apartment. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, the kitchen had everything you need (lots of cutting boards, knives, etc.), and there are excellent shutters on all the windows (the kind where you pull the string next to the window and a shutter slides down and completely blocks out all the light). The sheets are very soft and there were 4 real beds (no one had to sleep on a couch bed).
It is in the country next to a cow farm (fun for kids and you'll hear them moo'ing and it smells like a farm). We had a car, so it was convenient and peaceful to stay outside the city. We were following the Rick Steve's route and drove up from the Fussen area toward Rothenburg, spent the night here (which broke up the drive and gave us time to see the Romantic Road and Dinkelsbuhl). Daytripped into Rothenburg and then spent another night here before returning South to Munich. The location works well for this itinerary.
