In the heart of the Marais, behind place des vosges, charming pied a terre , very cosy and the high ceilings give another dimension to the flat , in pure 17 th century style
Right behind the very romantic and majestuous Place Des Vosges , our flat is situated at the heart of the historical district of the Marais. It is 55 sqmeters
Our street is made up of 17th century buildings and was at that time the stables of Madame de Sevigné 's Hostel on place des vosges.
The street is very quiet and has a village feel that any foreign guest can appreciate, after days of visiting Paris and its numerous nearby museums or the busy shopping in the area .
We are very close to Bastille with its famous bars and popular hang out places.
For culture hungry people we are a walk away from musee Picasso , Musée des Archives, musée Carnavalet or the fantastic and curiosities orientated Musee de la Chasse
We are decorators, and very attentive to your confor and your well being
we are happy to share the objects we collected from different trips around the world and our numerous art and architecture books.
The flat has a large living room with a double bed on top of a mezzanine (140x200), plenty of shelving space and a wardrobe, separate furnished kitchen and separate bathroom.
ADSL, free phone to Europe and US.
Closest subway stations of 3 lines, metro st Paul or Bastille or Chemin vert. Also many bus lines if you don’t fancy subways.
so it's VERY accessible and convenient. The Louvre, Notre Dame de Paris, Pompidou Modern Art Museum are all within easy walking distance of the apart.
the guest have access to wi fi ,the stereo, a good choice of parisian guides and the very large and well stocked art library , if they promise to put the books where they belong , after having a look at them.
I always welcome guests and i try to give them advices , tips about restaurants and museums and the places i favor in the Marais, to make their stay as confortable as possible .
My neigborhood has a village feel, the houses are not too high and there are little shops everywhere , the flat is situated in a very quiet street but all around the rue des francs bourgeois , rue de bretagne it (email hidden)ly , young place with an amazing choice of restaurants , the rue st antoine has all the amenities and specialised food shops
that one needs for a nice parisian stay.
we are between the station St Paul on the very well deserved no 1 central line (louvre , champs-elysées etc) and on Bvd Beaumarchais the station Chemin Vert, the No 8 line that goes from Bastille to republique, the big parisian axes, plenty of buses on rue st antoine and bvd beaumarchais , 65 and 20 direction gare de lyon

Marine was sweet and warm hearted with lovely flat in an amazing location . Thanks marine!
Marine was very helpful and friendly and met us as promised with keys and directions and information. The apt is just as described and in a fantastic location in Le Marais right near Place Des Vosges. I stayed with my mum (69yrs) and sister (39yrs) and we all thought it was fantastic. It's on the ground floor so some street noise sometimes but when asked those making the noise apologised and left quickly. Some things to note: The shower is over the bath and right next to the kitchen. Wifi was working well and the beds were comfortable. It was also cool being on the ground floor (average around 30 degrees celcius in Paris when we stayed) so nice to come back to a place that was comfortable. We didn't cook but the kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need. The coffee pot is a bonus! Thank you Marine and Jones, this is a great place and I truly hope to be back one day. I would recommend this if you are looking for a great location, local experience, well equipped place in the 3eme. Awesome!
Great location within walking distance of many attractions. We found the space more than adequate for two adults and two pre-teen children. Bathroom and kitchen area were dim and felt a little damp. Bathroom and kitchen window face onto the interior stairwell for the building. These minor negatives would not stop me from recommending the apartment to friends.
Marine was very accommodating when our arrival was delayed by 11 hours.
This is a lovely apartment in a very central area of paris in the Marias. The apartment has all that you need with the benefit of a 'homely feel' surrounded by art books and artifacts.
Marine's apartment was exactly what we wanted. We stayed 8 nights and it was the perfect base to discover Paris but more importantly Le Marais and upper Le Marais. Our favourite restaurants Chez Janou, Le Petit Marche and Cafe des Musees were literally minutes away. We could walk to the Bastille and the departure point for the canal boat ride up the Canal Saint-Martin which is highly recommended. Great shopping streets are all within comfortable walking distance and the Marche des Rouge Enfants is wonderful for a cross section of world foods at very reasonable prices. Bastille metro is 7 minutes walk and St Paul is two minutes longer where you can start your journey to just about anywhere in Paris. The apartment is roomy and it has all you will need including an efficient Wifi. If you want to stay at home at night you can cook your own meal from fresh ingredients bought from nearby markets on the gas cook top or electric oven which is quite a luxury. Breakfast is two minutes away bought from the local patisserie at the end of Rue du Foin. So, overall, Marine's apartment is highly recommended.
We stayed at Marine's flat at the end of May, 2013. Its a really cozy apartment, very central. We were coming earlier and Marine was kind enough to wait for us. She gave us tips about shopping, eating and getting around. The apartment was clean and even though we were 4 people it didn't feel crowded. The bed in the mezzanine (behind the bookshelf) is private enough. We felt like home, we will be back for sure. Had a wonderful stay.
The location of he apartment is excellent. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in the flat.Marine s a charming and helpful host. We did have a couple of initial concerns. It is not clea from the description that the flat is on the ground for, fronting the street. This made it noisy. It was initially off putting to have people standing outside the bedroom window talking. However, after the first night, we learnt to ignore that and it ceased to be a issue.
Secondly, the location of the bathroom directly off the kitchen and with doors that do not close well was a little roblematical if you were cooking and someone wanted to use the bathroom. Nevertheless, we also got used to this.
Overall, we greatly enjoyed our time in the flat and would stay there again.
Great place! Location perfect, size perfect, facilities perfect! My wife and I used the bedroom on the main floor and our daughter used the loft. All beds great. Kitchen worked great for coffee, croissant and pate. Close to great food shops, museums, fun cafes, and river.
Tips: Avoid Chez Janou on Rue du Foin and eat at Le Petit Marche on Rue du Bearn instead. Former is living on its past reputation while the latter has really great cuisine. Use the St Paul metro stop if going east-west. Bastille if north south. On warm evenings take a picnic to the Arsenal marina and eat on the grassy banks. G 20 food store around the corner has everything you need from coffee to wine. 50 Euro taxi to CDG airport and 12 Euro to Gare du Nord.
Marine's apartment was fantastic! Location, Location, Location and very comfortable. After a busy day in Paris, it was lovely to come home in the afternoon or evening and sit down with a glass of wine and look through some beautiful books, a very inspiring collection. Loved the fact the apartment was on the ground floor...no stairs.....love it! We will definitely book again when we return in September. Thank You!
