I had a great time here - Michael's flat was very clean and comfortable and conveniently located. Michael himself is lovely and very generous with his time (and food!) and I'd definitely recommend this as a place to stay. It's quiet at night too, and dark in the room - so you'll get a good nights sleep.
The No.8 bus took me right downtown, or the 33 takes you towards the UBC side and comes regularly enough.
Some considerations - the room is quite small - not great for big luggages, there's no TV, and everything in his living room looks delicate - I was scared to touch anything in case I broke anything!! These are really just small things that I didn't mind but future guests might want to know :)
I stayed at Michael's suite for 8 nights. One bus ride takes you to both UBC and downtown, and there are food and pharmacy stores closeby.
Michael was an extremely good, easy-going, and friendly host. I was allowed to use the kitchen freely, and Michael even shared dinner on the day of my arrival. Michael also helped me do my laundry. I highly recommend his place as an ideal place to stay.
Very good first airbnb experience.
Michael is a great host, would definitely recommend. He is good for a chat, but, if you want your privacy, he works the night shifts and sleeps in late so you have the apartment to yourself most of the time.
Good area to be in, bus right next to apartment to go to downtown.
Good and clean (and very interesting :) place, conveniently located with bus stop directly in front of the building. I met Michael only briefly, but he made me feel welcome right away. His mother is also very nice, she was there to let me into the apartment since Michael was still at work when I arrived. I would stay at Michael's again!
Summary: Interesting city, good location, charming apartment, gracious host.
Michael was a fantastic host who took great pains to make sure I'd be comfortable and knowledgeable about Vancouver. The location is quite convenient; there's a bus that stops right outside if one wants to go to downtown while several restaurants and coffee shops are within short (15-20 mins) walking distance. If I was to visit Vancouver again, the only reason I wouldn't rebook with Michael is if I wanted the novelty of staying in someplace different. 5/5
Michael made me feel very welcome. After a harrowing arrival in Vancouver, where Qantas had lost my luggage, Michael's mother was extremely kind and drove me to a shopping centre so I could get some new things.
The room was excellent, but my schedule did not permit me to run into Michael very often. Neighbourhood was great, ver y friendly and safe. Bus stop at front door and close to other connections, including the airport.
Michael is very friendly an funny. He has plenty of food in his fridge :-)
He is a great host overall.
