April and Ken are great hosts. They were very accommodating to all of our requests, and they responded quickly to all of our messages.
My girlfriend and I truly enjoyed staying in their guest house on our trip to New Orleans. The guest house was spacious, clean, quiet, and perfectly located. They let us borrow their bikes which saved us tons of money on transportation. We used the bikes to explore the French Quarter and the Garden District as well as City Park. For us, having access to the bikes was the greatest perk of this place.
We also appreciated that the room had a washer and dryer and that all of the appliances were new and worked well. The guest house is extremely well-constructed. It is the only building that I've ever been in with a wooden staircase without a single creaky step.
This guest house is an amazing value, and I would highly recommend staying here.
We had a great stay at April and Ken's guesthouse. It is very well decorated and the kitchen appliances are beautiful!
The location is close enough to walk to Frenchmen's Street or the French Quarter in about 20min. Esplanade Ave is lined with beautiful old homes so it's a pleasant walk, but we preferred to take cabs at night because there are some parts of the walk that seemed dangerous.
April and Ken were great hosts; I'd recommend their place to anyone!
We met Ken briefly (we were on our way out to catch a bus) and April welcomed us by text. We felt very welcome and appreciated the little touches like a bottle of wine and other amenities.
The apartment was convenient to most places of interest; we took cabs quite a bit. The neighborhood has many lovely older homes, so it was quite a treat to walk around to see them. We were especially close to City Park and spent one whole day (when the weather turned cold and windy) at the New Orleans Museum of Art at the entrance to the Park. We walked from the Park to Terranova Brother's grocery store, which was great-very friendly, informative staff. They recommended the empanadas at the Santa Fe restaurant across the street, and they were indeed very tasty and a bargain at two for $7.
The home was exactly as shown in the pictures. The bedroom has French doors that open on to a cute balcony overlooking the courtyard and pool. It's built around a beautiful old magnolia tree. It's clean and quiet.
I would recommend April and Ken's home; it's cute, clean and a real bargain as well.
April & Ken's guest house is exactly as pictured in the photographs. My boyfriend and I felt very welcomed. April & Ken were both very responsive to any inquiries we had within minutes. Also, they had excellent recommendations for places to eat that we didn't get to all of them :-( My boyfriend and I only took that as a sign that we have to come back so we can explore more everything Nola has to offer. We will definitely be back and hope to have the opportunity to stay at April & Ken's again :-)
Very satisfied with our stay, everything looks great like in the pictures, very clean, 20 mins walking to french quarter and like 8 mins driving. Ken and April are great hosts, very diligent and helpful. I will definitely recommend my friends to stay there when visiting NOLA.
This place is absolutely ADORABLE, and April & Ken were great from the get-go. Booking was a breeze, April answered all my questions, and left detailed instructions for check-in. When we arrived, we found a cute little note welcoming us, along with great information about New Orleans, local hot spots, and cab information (SUPER helpful!). The place was charming, cute, and very well kept...we never ended up using the bikes we were offered, but it was nice to know we could if we wanted too. Overall, April & Ken were great hosts who really delivered!
We were excited to find such a private, quiet and well located place to stay for a wedding weekend. Thanks to Ken and April for a fun and comfortable experience and for the great tips.

We are a recently married, young professional couple who now considers NOLA our heart and our home! We both are transplants and absolutely love everything about the Big Easy! We live on the historic Esplanade Ave, but love every single part of this city, from Uptown to the Marigny! We can give you great advice on where to site see, shop, bar-hop, find great eats, or guide you to hidden jewels off the beaten path for some extra local flavor! Our dream vacation begins in Greece and ends in Vanuatu...
