I stayed at Kate's place for 2 weeks. It's a very good location, close to tourist attractions like Gyeongbokgung, Gwanghwamun Square, Sejong Performing Arts Center, Bukchon Hanok Village, Insadong, Samcheongdong, Seoul Museum of History, etc. It's a quiet neighborhood and a nice apartment. The room was clean & new & for one person, it's a good size. The bed is comfortable & so is the couch that can be folded down into a bed. The air conditioning works really well if you turn the down the temperature and it was really hot in Korea during the time I was here. The room itself does not get that hot which is good. The fridge & freezer keep things nice & cool quickly. Kate provided all the necessities: different shampoos, conditioner (cream rinse), toothpaste, soap, coarse towel for showering, bath towels, iron, hair dryer, hot water kettle, body lotion, body spray, washing machine, dish soap, kitchen utensils & cookware. I do not recommend using the dryer setting on your clothes because it takes like 3hrs & it's basically washes your clothes in hot water & do anything 100% cotton will shrink. It's better just to hang your clothes because they'll dry in 1.5-2 days anyway, at least in May. There is a lot of storage space in the closet & she provides hangers. I was having trouble finding a 3-prong travel adapter for my laptop & Kate was kind enough to let me borrow hers. There are books in the room & maps & travel guides people left. There's fast internet in the room. You can easily catch a taxi from outside her building or catch the Seoul City Tour Bus. There's a 24hr convenience store right next door & a 24hr Korean restaurant & across the street a Paris Baguette and cafe that are open until (phone number hidden)ish. Also close by is The Coffee Bean, Subway, and a pho place. There's a 24hr security guard in the lobby and one of the security guards was very helpful to me and helped me with my luggage and putting it in the taxi. Right across the street is a little park with a fountain. Gwanghwamun is the closest station & it's a 5min walk. Inside Gwanghwamun Station is a large bookstore-Kyobo Books & the place is really a centralized location to a lot of places in Seoul above the Han River. You can walk to a lot of places in the area from her place & there are also late night buses that run close to the palace area. Kate's communication was very good & she was flexible & helpful with an extra trash bags & things here & there. I would definitely stay at her place again.
My stay at Kate's apartment went very well. There was no physical interaction with Kate during my stay, but there was no need for that as her written directions are very easy to understand and follow. She is super sweet and helpful, very quick to respond to any messages or concerns.
Her apartment is exactly as it looks in the photos- clean, beautiful and great for one person, or a couple at max.
This is the perfect place to stay if you are not looking to cook/stay at home often as the kitchen is quite small, and space is limited.
The Gwanghuamun area is also ideal for those who are not looking to live in the busy, bustling areas of seoul as it is more quiet and residential. Her place is very close to a main subway line that is accessible and easy to find-about a 2 minute walk from her place.
There are plenty of restaurants, convenient stores and cafes on the same street the apartment is on which is also very convenient.
The biggest issue I had with the apartment really was understanding the words on control panels such as the heating/air conditioning system, laundry machine, or security lock but even then it was not impossibly difficult to figure out by pushing a few buttons.
I loved that there was no need for any keys and was still able to feel safe as there is a 24 hr concierge at the entrance and the door to the apartment automatically locks after about 2 seconds of closing.
Overall I am very satisfied and happy with my stay and would highly recommend staying here if you are looking to travel to seoul :)
The apartment is clean and tidy. It locates at a convenient and quiet location and it is easy for you to reach different part of Seoul by subway or on foot. Airport shuttle and convenient store are all just within 5 mins from the building.
Thanks Kate for your arrangement!
The studio is close to two subway stations which is very convenient. We used Gwanghwamun Station mostly which is only two short blocks away. There is a 7-11 next to the building which is nice if you need to pick up anything quick. There's a security desk in the lobby and the surrounding area feels very safe. We stayed 8 days and Kate was very helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.
The studio was clean, spacious and functional. The location is perfect, you can easily commute everywhere with buses or subway.
The description and photos of the studio are accurate.
Host was very nice and responsive.
This is the perfect place for visiting Seoul! Highly recommended!
Kate is a friendly, helpful and meticulous host. Her apartment is clean, warm and cozy. I really enjoyed staying at her apartment. It is located very near Gwanghwamun Metro Station. Popular tourist places like Insadong, Myeongdong, Namdaemun, Dongdaemun and Edae are only a few stops away using the Seoul Metro.
Furthermore, if you plan to go on a ski trip, you could book a shuttle bus to Jisan Forest and the boarding site is only within minutes of walking from her apartment!
Location is very good for traveler. And room has everything what you need.
Recommand this place who want travel in Seoul.
