The ECO CABIN stands on 2 acres of private unspoilt natural meadow with a river and mill race. This self catering holiday accommodation can sleep 2 adults and 3 young childrend (max.) with the possibility of setting up tents in the field.
"Back to basics" and connecting with nature. 2 acres natural meeadow with stream and mill race for free use with the cabin. No other visitors in the field. Total privacy. Most suitable for 1 -3 adults who want to connect with nature and/or or a family with young children, interested in farm animals. Not suitable for hen/stag parties.
Guests can park at the Mill House yard, where the owner lives. Lamps, mobiles, etc. can be charged at no additional costs. Cooler boxes and ice packs are provided. Washing machine/dryer can be made available on request. Bicycles can be rented for €5/day (also children bikes)
Interaction with Guests
The owner lives in the Mill House which is only a 2 min. walk from the Eco Cabin. Owner will introduce the guests to the Eco Cabin and explain everything. Guests can walk over to the Mill House on a daily basis for anything they need. A guard dog can also be provided (if you are scared in the dark...)
Tranquil and beautiful environment for total relaxation / de-stressing, also suitable for meditation, painting, writing, etc. Several places worthwhile seeing; Mullaghmeen Forest Reserve, Loughcrew neolithic tombs, Loch Lene (Blue Flag Lake), Fore Abbey, Loch Sheelin (with rowing boats), horse riding in the vicinity, etc.
There is a bus service from Oldcastle 4x/day. Otherwise no public transport. I can collect guests from Oldcastle or Castlepollard against a small fee. A Dublin airport bus goes to Virginia, Co. Cavan, change over to the Oldcastle bus in Virginia. Own transport (car) recommended as the nearest shop is 8 miles away.
Other Things to Note
The Eco Cabin is part of The Mill House, which is a working pig/poultry farm of free range animals. See: www.mill(URL HIDDEN)
No pets allowed. No smoking. Please leave your shoes outside the door. Do not sleep in the duvets but use the bedlinen. Do not litter or damage the field, no campfires. Leave the Eco Cabin as you found it (immaculate).
