Freshly cooked breakfasts are served in the spacious 18th-century dining room, with a wide selection of dishes available. The dining room enjoys splendid views across the Avoca River and Valley while guests enjoy their breakfasts.
Guests can relax in the elegant lounge, featuring an original open turf fireplace and a small library of books, magazines and board games. There is also a covered terrace and outdoor seating areas in the pretty gardens.
Barbaras's and Michael's guest house felt like going back to past times, the furniture and decoration is elegant and cozy, we really enjoyed our short stay and were impressed by how warmly and privately we and other guests were hosted by the lovely owners. We got helpful tips with activities near the accomodation. Great breakfast with homemade jam and bread to chose and many Irish breakfast specialties. All the best to your family! May you always have many nice guests!
A group of 9 of us stayed here as we were attending a wedding at Brooke lodge and i would highly recommend it as a cheaper alternative to Brooke Lodge.
The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was great and much needed after a night at the wedding. The hosts were great, were quite flexible with our group and helped organize transport to and from brooke lodge.
Would stay again if i were in the area.
Overall our stay was nice, host was very helpful with information about places to visits and routes to drive. Breakfast for me was great, strong french press coffee, selection of teas, fresh eggs from their own chicken, a variety of cooked breakfast options.. oh and that french toast is the best!
Great space with old architectural elements, old furniture, a fireplace in the lounge area. We loved it!
