This warm flat located in a cool downtown commercial building where you could have everything you want just a short stroll downstairs is convenient and classy. Enjoy yoga, gourmet foods, the spa and sunsets and never leave home! Oh, but the beach...
Beautiful flat located in the historic company store in the heart of Fort Bragg, CA. This apartment has two bedrooms with comfortable queen size beds, two bathrooms with a sauna and a large Jacuzzi bathtub in one. There is a full kitchen with stove and range. It is the perfect place for someone who wants to be close enough to the beach to walk, but also directly in town to experience the boutique shops and restaurants that Fort Bragg has to offer.
The building is known for housing the internationally recognized raw food culinary institute LIVING LIGHT CULINARY ARTS INSTITUTE. This building also has local fine dining with Mendo Bistro, a coffee shop, spa, and beautiful bar. Also a yoga sudio and a bike shop for the active. Whether you want to get a massage, get out and be active or have champagne and oysters you are fully taken care of!
Also, No Divers please, we do not have any outside room to hang wet suits and it can be pretty messy in the house.
Interaction with Guests
We don't live in the area and have a house cleaner that gets the place ready for you and cleans up after you for the next guests. Please let us know if you need anything and we will call her to help us out.
We love being able to pick up our latte in the morning and head out to enjoy our walks and bike rides by the ocean. Knowing all the while that when we get home we can eat a healthy salad, get a massage, have a cocktail and a great dinner and not have to leave the building! If we really want to relax and leave the sweats on we can call in a pizza at Piacchis across the street and stay in with a movie.
No smoking inside. No Wetsuits/Divers Please!
No more than six people will stay at the house due to ordinance of the city.
Relax and enjoy yourself ;-)
Dana made us feel extremely welcome with the great dinner recommendations close by, prompt response to my last minute booking and clear instructions on how to get to the apartment. My wife and I and out two boys really loved the great view out to the ocean as well as the ample space inside the apartment. In spite of being steps from Main St. the nights were quiet and comfortable. My boys are already asking when we can go back.
After my third stay at Dana's lovely Fort Bragg apartment, I can only express my wish to return soon! The apartment is spotless, comfortable, well-situated in town and is outfitted with everything you need. The Mendo Bistro restaurant is delicious and the coffee shop downstairs has delicious pastries. Nothing is too far away.
I appreciate Dana's availability by phone when needed. We will return soon!!!
The house was very nice and cozy - exactly as described. The house was centrally located. Easy walk to the key places in Fort Bragg, including Glass Beach and the historic downtown. We really enjoyed our visit.
We always have a great time staying here. Very clean and comfortable. Location couldn't be better.
The apartment was great. Kids loved the open living room to play games and watch tv. It was nice to have a kitchen to use and the sauna was a nice perk as well. Overall it was a good trip, comfortable place to stay and a cute town with good shopping. We drove out from San Jose and it took us almost 5.5 hours on a Sarurday. The kids wanted to stay longer-the view of the ocean and the light in the space was really relaxing. Thank you to the hosts for having this available; it was so nice to go downstairs for a drink. The location is so convenient for walking everywhere in town.
Good place for our purposes, (meeting one other person, visiting, and exploring the Fort Bragg / Mendocino area, easy access to restaurants, coffee shops, etc). Large open area to hang out in and visit / chat. Easy access to restaurant, coffee shop and downtown. Right next to train station, so sleeping past 10am or so when the train starts running is not very practical. We do not, so it was not an issue with us. It returned in mid afternoon then shut down. Again not an issue with us. Clean and kept up, but not necessarily immaculate. Although it has two baths, neither is accessible from the second bedroom without going into the first bedroom. One bathroom is accessible to the living room area (where people can sleep also) without going through the main bedroom. Odd layout, but that was part of its charm and all workable. Communication for entry and such was fine. There seems to be a lot of homeless people along the north coast of CA and while this can be a bit concerning to those not used to it, we did not see any crime, property damage, aggressive panhandling, or those things sometimes associated with street life. We were told that there has been an influx of people in need due to several social services being shut down in nearby localities. All-in-all, this is a good place to stay and a great location for the small downtown area of Fort Bragg. Having to do all the laundry (sheets, towels, etc) before leaving was a bit odd, but certainly was workable and it wouldn't stop us from staying here again. We did not cook here and/or use the TV so we can't review those facilities. We did use the internet and that was fine.
