Interaction with Guests
I work from home, so am around if you need me, tapping away on the computer. My boyfriend Jon lives here, too. We are in our 50s.
We'd love to get acquainted if you like -- airbnbers are awesome people! We have lots of great restaurants and sights to recommend in the Santa Monica area.
We are walking distance from the Third Street Promenade, Montana Avenue, Santa Monica Place mall, Santa Monica Pier, Palisades Park, a twice-weekly farmer's market, theaters, comedy clubs, a host of terrific restaurants in all price ranges, and more. Check out the "maps" page for all the great spots in the area.
Although centrally located, the apartment is on a calm and quiet street that is not a main thoroughfare. Sunlight streams in from huge windows, and there is a nice balcony to take in the sky.
The best parts of Santa Monica shopping/eating/sight-seeing/beach are within walking distance. Hiking and other outdoors activities are a short drive away, up toward Malibu or in the Marina del Rey area. There are many convenient bus lines within one or two blocks.
Other Things to Note

Likewise, no burning of candles, incense, and the like. Please use only non-spray, non-aerosol, non-smoke items.
Our stay was really great with Laura. The apartment was so sunny and bright, and the beds were probably the comfiest things ever! They were very accommodating, with our own set of keys, parking pass, and space in the shower and fridge! They even had a whole binder full of their favorite restaurants and helpful tips for staying in Santa Monica. Thanks for everything!!
Laura was very welcoming and helpful with information about the area. I enjoyed chatting with them. The basic unit was clean and a good value being a short walk to the promenade and Santa Monica pier.
Laura and Jon are very kind, friendly and warm hosts. Everything is clean and tidy, and the room is indeed cheerful and bright. The space heater was a nice plus on the colder February days that I stayed, so I was always comfortable - and the bed is really cozy. Jon is a professional masseuse, and I even scheduled a wonderful massage during my stay. The apartment is about a 15 minute walk down to The Promenade, and there's also the Big Blue Bus that runs right down Santa Monica Blvd for $1 if you'd rather hitch a ride.
Laura was a fantastic host! The room was very clean and comfy, and the location was perfect for walking around Santa Monica.
Laura was a very good host. the place was cozy and neat, good location near center of Santa Monica. We enjoyed our stay there.
Laura and Jon were extremely welcoming, laid back, and accommodating. They let me have my own space and time to myself, but when I asked for advice about my plans, they were warm and helpful. Laura's guidebook is really helpful but she knows a ton more about Santa Monica, so if you have any more questions about what to do or how to do it, just ask for her advice. And, the location is unbeatable!
I stayed hosted in Laura's apartment 7 days.
Laura and Jon are very kind people: they like to have a good conversation and provide very helpful information about the city.
I strongly recommend Laura's host apartment.
I'm a writer/filmmaker and a freelance editor for folks who are self-publishing. I live here in gorgeous Santa Monica with my boyfriend Jon, who is a certified massage therapist. Santa Monica never gets old. The beach, the hills, the foodie opportunities, the culture, the shopping -- it's got it all. We take advantage of as much of it as we can, from membership in the Aero Theater to finding free yoga classes to the incredible food and the amazing beach. Let us show you around!
