Bruce was their when we arrived, carried our suitcases in and checked the Internet for some places we were interested in. He was very gracious. The listing was very accurate, my room felt spacious and a sort of elegance with it's high bed and very comfortable mattress. Kim's decorating skills made it feel very welcoming.
The neighborhood was beautiful, quiet and wonderful to walk in.
We had an absolutely wonderful stay with Kim & Bruce. They have a lovely home, great room, great bed, great everything. The location was ideal as my daughter was making an athletic recruiting trip to UNC (9 min away)..
Bruce and Kim were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. We got there later in the day, had to shower and get right back out. We came back late that night and had a very comfortable nights sleep. Breakfast and their company (along with another couple that was staying there) was wonderful and easy. We had great conversation and felt totally relaxed. Kim and Bruce seem to genuinely enjoy hosting folks and getting to know them. The location is fantastic. Very close to down town Chapel Hill. Their home is beautiful. We would definitely return in the future.
From the moment we arrived Kim was welcoming and helpful in every way as we got settled. We were meeting our son who was running late at her house to go to my youngest son's college soccer game. My husband left for the game and I stayed back to meet my son. Because of the traffic and huge parking issues at the stadium Kim suggested she drive us over to meet him for the game. That was such a blessing in itself to have that convenience provided by her for us! She went beyond hospitality to help us out. As for the house, it was in a charming older neighborhood but the house completely renovated and updated. It was magazine perfect - clean and comfortable. We met other interesting guest staying there from New York and all enjoyed a delicious breakfast together. We would choose Kim's listing again.
I had an absolutely fantastic experience staying with Kim and Bruce. Not only is their house absolutely lovely, but Kim has thought of everything. I was offered a glass of wine upon arrival, which was just perfect. Kim offers breakfast every morning of fruit, bagels, yogurt, tea, etc. She has snacks in jars out on the counter and left chocolates, the good kind, in a bowl in my room along with bottled water and a binder with local attractions, restaurant menus, the wifi password, etc. The house was extremely clean and they don't let the cats in the guests' rooms, so even though I'm slightly allergic, it wasn't a problem at all. Plus, the cats are really sweet. She had a big jar/ glass container on the counter of ice water, like you would find at a spa, flavored with oranges for two of the days I was there and cucumber for the other two. She left a water bottle on the counter for me without prompting, so that I could bring the water with me when I left for the day. She also told me that I had full access to their gym a couple miles up the road, which includes an indoor swimming pool and a hot tub. Although I didn't take advantage of this, I thought it was worth mentioning. The only disadvantage that I could see to their house, although it wasn't something that I cared about- I'm a deep sleeper and I spent most of my time there just reading- is that the doors to my room (there were two in a row, one door that opened to a little hallway with a bathroom door and then a second door into the room) were not very soundproof at all. I stayed in the downstairs room next to the kitchen. The one that is blue. I'm not sure if it is the same one I booked. I was the only ine there, so she have me a choice. Overall it was an absolutely excellent experience, they really went above and beyond my expectations. I highly, highly reccommend staying here!
A nice forested neighborhood convenient to all Chapel Hill with exceptional hosts you will want to see again. The hosts seemingly go out of their way to be helpful ensuring your stay is both trouble-free and enjoyable. Highly recommended and a wonderful stay from my one and only airbnb experience.

My husband, Bruce, and I have been together for 14 wonderful years and knew that we were two peas in a pod upon our first meeting. We love to camp, dine out and travel. We have been fortunate to visit many great places like the E.U., Costa Rica, Canadian Rockies and all of the Caribbean Islands. We hope to see Ireland and Alaska in our near future.
Bruce is a Respiratory Therapist at Duke Hospital and I am an office manager at a rehab company. We do not have children, but we do have four lovable cats.
We love to entertain family, friends and guests who always feel comfortable in our home! From game night to watching the big game on the big screen, we always have a great time!
So come on over, kick your feet up and relax. We would love to host you.
