Owl House Farm is an early 1900's Victorian Foursquare turned urban homestead situated on the east side of Denver's historic Capitol HIll, near the always fashionable Cheeseman Park. Fresh fruit and veggies from the garden durng spring/summer/fall, fresh eggs (mostly) year round, are available to guests. We have a patio and porch for relaxing outdoors, or cozy up next to the wood burning stove in the living room.
The room itself has been remodeled in a quasi-baroque style, has a queen size bed, plenty of closet space, a small chest of drawers and a library desk for a laptop or whatever. There is also a small sun porch of the back of the room with several plants.
The house has been featured on ApartmentTherapy for more photos of the house search ApartmentTherapy Joe's Victorian Owl House
The kitchen is at your disposal as is a french press, and aeropress, a V-60, a siphon pot and a Chemex with complimentary coffee provided by Pablo's Coffee.
Owl House Farm is located two blocks to Cheeseman Park for strolling or jogging, or a perhaps a picnic, 3 blocks to grocers, ice cream, hardware store, bagels, liquor stores & bars. A short jaunt to Snarf's, Potager & Fruition and a little further to Frank Bananno's Luca di Italia, Mizuna & Bones. Wi-fi, free street parking, washer & dryer, patio with fire pit, BBQ grill, shared bath, clean towels will be provided.
Unfortunately, there is only one bathroom, and 4 residents and we all share that space. Please take this into consideration.
At the Owl House Farm, we expect each other and our guests to respect the house, it's residents and the items within and directly outside the walls. We work regular jobs and are students, this home is our sanctuary. We would have the same expectations for anyone who would stay here.
Quiet hours (keep any noise to a murmur) are from 10 pm to 8 am. This does not imply a "curfew". We all keep different hours, some leave home early, others come home late.
Must be comfortable with animals, specifically ducks and chickens.
Smoking is ok, just keep it outside.
We recycle and compost. Recycle anything with a number unless it's PLA and compost anything organic unless it's meat or dairy. Most things can be given to the chickens.
Only those who are staying in the room are allowed in the house.
We're flexible on the check-in/check-out times, try to keep the time within reason.
Everything about Joe's place is awesome! Great location, easy street parking, great neighborhood, amazing roommates, adorable chickens, hilarious duck, and the decor!!! Agh!!! Soooo beautifully eclectic! I loved discovering all of his fun collectibles and antiques! PERFECT!!! I didn't want to leave!!!
Joseph was quickly responsive to my request.
The room was neat and ready. bathroom down the hallway was also clean with fresh towels.
I felt uncomfortable without a lock on the bedroom door and
boarders coming and going at night.
The local was close enough to the airport and we walked to
the grocery store and had a great meal.
Appreciated the flexibility with arrival. Lovely room and the place is in a great spot given it's easy to access different neighborhoods of Denver. Joe was very friendly and gave great local recommendations.
I loved Owl House! Charming old home and I was very comfortable there. The bed was superb and I had everything I needed. I will definitely try to stay there again next time I'm in Denver!
Excellent experience, convenient location in a quiet neighborhood and near the park. There's also an excellent coffee shop (Thump) and beer shop just blocks away. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.
