The neighborhood is great. walking distance to bars, restaurants and the LARGEST park in the US, City Park. yes....even larger than Central Park in NYC. City Park is home to NOMA ( New Orleans Museum of Art) and its Sculpture Garden and Botannical Gardens
the Streetcar can be caught a few blocks away on Canal. it will take you to the French Quarter, the CBD and as far as the Audubon Zoo
this is a family neighborhood. we ask that noise be kept at a respectable level. Dogs must remain on leash when outside. There is only street parking available. Even though you can legally park in front of a neighbors house we ask that you do not. Our neighbors have lived here for many years. There is usually ample parking on the other side of the street.
Please take care of the bikes as if they were yours.
This is indeed a charming, convenient, safe, clean, and comfortable place to stay. 4 minutes to Morning Call at City Park, and 7 minutes to Willie Mae's, plus around the corner from Rouses and Winn Dixie. The neighborhood is great, very kid-friendly. Easy off-street parking as well as kind neighbors. Our 2 year old enjoyed the train tracks at the end of the street, but we weren't bothered by any train noise. The place itself is spacious, the bed and couch very comfortable, and the kitchen very nicely stocked. Joel was very responsive to a couple of questions we had. We hope to stay here again!
Great place. Half of a double camelback, and the upstairs bedroom is super-quiet. Easy parking in the block. Kitchen is reasonably well-equipped, and the refrigerator is full-size. Floor-based heating is very effective. Laundry is in a shed off the back porch. Communications were great; key is in a lockbox. Highly recommended!
Having lived in this neighborhood before (just around the corner, in fact), I had no hesitation about making this reservation. It's within walking distance to the street car, two grocery stores, City Park, great places to eat, and many neighborhood bars.
Checking in was extremely convenient and Joel and Renee were great with communication. The home itself is a double-shotgun camelback and very nicely appointed. My stay was more like house-sitting for my favorite aunt and uncle. The back deck was cozy and I enjoyed morning coffee and reading there. The bed is extremely comfortable.
I would not hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend this listing to any of my friends or family.
Good location. Comfortable house. Plenty of on street parking. Good host.
This was my first visit to New Orleans and I was so lucky to stay at Joel's house. The location was fabulous, close to everything. The house was very comfortable and charming. Joel made it very easy to move in and was super responsive to any questions. I highly recommend it. I hope to return to NOLA and stay at Joel's.
In a word, excellent. We had so much fun staying here. Joel was a breeze to work with, responded to questions quickly, the home was lovely, the neighborhood quiet, and we had an easy walk every day down to the JazzFest site. Absolutely would stay here again in the future! Thank you!
We had a great stay at this charming duplex. The house was well maintained and great location. We were traveling with young children, so City Park was a hit and soo near! I was impressed with the amount of food they had stocked fridge and pantry. The bath room as well had an toiletries you would need if forgotten. Even everything to do your hair: curlers , blow dryer, and product. Next door neighbor nice, but do share wall so we could hear each other. Would recommend this accommodation. Thanks NOLA and Joel for a great house and visit.
My wife Renee' and I were married in 2010 and currently live in Baton Rouge. I'm a Construction Superintendent for a commercial contractor and she is an ASE certified auto mechanic & auto parts sales rep for NAPA. we rent out her New Orleans home to all walks of life. We use the place ourselves for certain events in New Orleans and visiting relatives. We have two kids, 21 & 13 yr old girls that keep us both very busy. We love to travel, attend festivals, run 10k's , mountain biking, live music, art, nature, great food, friends and great times. We are also Saints season ticket holders. WHO DAT!
