Our apartment is in a neighborhood right off of S. Lamar and a 10-minute cab ride away from downtown. There is a bus station right outside the neighborhood also. Towels and other amenities always provided. Comfy pullout sleeps 2!
We love to meet new people! We are always happy to show people around Austin. If you are staying with us on nights where I have school or we have work the next day, we probably won't be able to show you as much as we can, but we will give you a house key so you don't miss out!
Most of our neighbors are younger and all of them have pets. It is a quiet neighborhood with 2 pools (the best one is right by our house) so it is nice in the summertime.
There's a bus station right outside the neighborhood and a 1-trip pass costs $2. A day pass is somewhere from $5-$10 I think, and you can get on and off all day with that. A cab ride to downtown (6th Street) is about $15. It's cheaper to go to SoCo then walk across the bridge, and it is a beautiful skyline view to boot!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful visit to Austin. The room was very comfortable and Kathleen was a great host. The apartment is located very close to a bus stop that takes you right into downtown, which is very convenient for getting around Austin. If you're looking for great place to stay, you've found it!
