Thank you for visiting my Full Bed Room Site!
This is a fantastic location very close to Downtown Denver, which is a quick and easy 10 to 15 minute walk away. My home is close enough to go quickly wherever you want Downtown, but it is remarkably quiet and very restful. I am located in the upscale "Uptown" neighborhood, just east of downtown, in a working-class Victorian home (not elegant, but roomy, with character, lots of light and high ceilings). The common rooms (living room, dining room and kitchen) are available to guests for meeting space, or for just hanging out. In the summer, a large evaporative cooler and ceiling fans help keep the whole house cool. The small, fenced garden in back is a work in progress, with a small patio under the grape arbor, and the front porch is ideal for watching the world go by.
The house itself can accommodate up to 10 guests. I have several kinds of accommodations: queen bed in private room, double bed in private room, king bed for up to 3 people (best with small child or children) in private room, and large double sofa bed in living room for families or groups traveling together and who will book the queen bed room as well. There are other sleeping possibilities as well. Family/group rates are negotiable. The two bathrooms are shared. Two-night minimum stay preferred.
This particular room, the Double Bed Room, accommodates only two persons. It is my "rustic room," although many guests have declared that the mattress "is the most comfortable I've ever slept on." The bed is high, so a step stool waits under the bed for a guest's need. The double room comes with a chest of drawers, a desk, bookshelves, a table for luggage, a large shared closet, and a couple of chairs, with Native American themed artwork.
This room is on the second floor of my home. If there are no guests in the King Bed Room, then the guest/s in the Double share the upstairs bathroom with me. If there are guests in the King Room, then the guests in the Double use the downstairs bathroom on the main floor, which is shared. A Caution: the stairs are very steep in this old Victorian, so extreme care should be taken when using them. This room is lockable.
I provide all bed linens and covers, pillows, towel sets, hair dryer, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and soap. You will need to bring something to cover you to and from the bathroom.
All taxes (totalling 14.75%) are included in the cost of each room, as are breakfasts. I charge a cleaning fee of $10 per room because of the need to sanitize everything a guest might touch or use, and to clean thoroughly before and after each guest's visit.
Some amenities in my home are Wireless Internet/WiFi, basic cable TV, baby grand piano, fully equipped kitchen and dining room, with Wedgewood china for dining, and all the fixings for a great breakfast, as you like it.
Very nearby are 4 grocery stores, from the basic to the gourmet; a number of liquor and fine wine stores; multiple coffee shops and some Internet cafes; Denver's many beautiful parks, and numbers of great and some renowned restaurants and eateries for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner, and dessert. Churches, some beautiful and historical, abound, and many offer some of the most beautiful music and the most interesting services and dialogues around. Entertainment venues too are close by, from Brew Pub Tours to the Denver Performing Arts Complex, movie theaters and world-renowned book stores, excellent museums of all kinds and sizes, including the brand new Clyfford Still Museum, and our wonderful Denver Museum of Nature and Science and The Children's Museum. The gold-domed Colorado State Capitol, the Denver Public Library, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Downtown Aquarium, and the ever-expanding Denver Zoo are easily reached. Most of these great amenities are within 2 to 3 miles of my home and can be easily accessed by foot or by public transportation (the RTD). The sheer number of great hang-outs of every kind is really astonishing. Denver is truly a Great City!
It is an easy 15-minute walk to downtown or less than 5 minutes to transportation throughout the city. My home is in a perfect location for a wide variety of Denver convention, dining, shopping, athletic, cultural, and entertainment experiences, for individuals and for families. You can avoid the high prices of Downtown, while enjoying all of its offerings just a few minutes away.
There is very easy access to major highways through Colorado. Come for the brilliance of the Colorado blue sky and sunshine and all the amenities that Uptown and Downtown Denver have to offer!
Supervised children are very welcome. Pets and smoking are not welcome.
Living room, dining room, kitchen, refrigerator (with advance planning), laundry room ($3.00 US for wash and dry), patio and porch areas in season.
I generally have a great deal of interaction with my guests. I enjoy getting to know them and am available during the days and evenings. If the need arises, I am also here at night. If a guest prefers no or less interaction, that is fine.

Alexandra was a gracious hostess, and we very much enjoyed the variety of breakfast options. While the room didn't afford us too much extra space, we really enjoyed getting out and about in Denver, so it worked nicely. The location was also great for people who enjoy walking.
I had a delightful stay with Alexandra while attending a professional meeting at the convention center downtown. It was such a treat to be able to eat a hot breakfast each morning and wind down over a cup of tea each evening. Alexandra is a lovely host!
Alexandra was a pleasure to stay with! She was always very welcoming, making it feel like we were home. Her home was clean and comfortable, and we would definitely stay with her again.
Alexandra was a wonderful host, she provide everything we need, since breakfast to informations about the city. If I go back to Denver I know where to stay, and I recommend for everybody Alexandra's house to stay in Denver.
The house had everything we need, and the room was prefect for me and my girlfriend.
Alexandra very friendly and helpful, really kind. I love her.
Nice room, nice bathroom although separate, but the two rooms are located above and access through the little kitchen.
Location really quite remarkable. middle of city close to center of the city. easy bus, taxi and train.
please try, choice better rooms on the ground floor.
It was a pleasure to stay at Alexandra´s place. She is a really nice host. I will never forget the Mexican Restaurant! :) Thanks, Alexandra! And to all others: I highly recommend Alexandra´s B&B.
I had a delightful 5 day night and found Alexandra a wonderful hostess.
The bed was very comfortable, the location was easy walking distance to my venue downtown and I also appreciated all of Alexandra's suggestions for local restaurants.
Additionally, Alexandra provided excellent advice on how to take public transportation from and to the airport.
Breakfast food choices were tasty and appreciated.
Everything was wonderful during my stay!
Alexandra is such a lovely person and her place is in 10 minutes walking distance from Downtown Denver.
I stayed there for 4 nights and immediately felt like home. After my arrival, Alexandra took the time to show me interesting places on the map. I got great restaurant recommendations based on the food I like and also shopping and museum tips and how I get there by public transportation. You definitely can trust her. She is a Denver local.
The breakfast selection was very rich. Bagels, eggs, bread and cereals, you'll get everything you want. And if you're super nice, Alexandra might offer you something of her self made fruit and veggie smoothies. So delicious.
There were two other lovely couples staying at the same time so there was always great breakfast talk. In 5 minutes walking distance, there is a Safeway grocery store if you need to buy additional stuff for the day.
You can use the washer and dryers for $3 and on my departure day she took me by car to the airport bus station. Just great.
I had a perfect time at her place. I highly recommend this for everyone but it's also great if you're new to Denver, as Alexandra is so helpful and experienced.
Alexandra's bnb is warm and welcoming - as is she. Perfectly located in the heart of Denver's uptown, it is a great base from which to experience the city. Alexandra gave some great recommendations for things to see and places to eat, generously sharing her local knowledge even though she was recovering from a bug when I arrived. And she kindly took me to the airport bus when my stay was over. I won't forget my time in Denver. Thanks Alexandra for your help and a nice place to stay.
Great place to stay! Alexandra's place is located in a great neighborhood and is only a short walk to get downtown. She always has fresh fruit out for her guests to eat and is also very helpful giving recommendations to people visiting Denver for the first time.
