Thank you for visiting my King Bed Room Site!
This is a fantastic location very close to Downtown Denver, which is a quick and easy 10 to 15 minute walk away. My home is close enough to go quickly wherever you want Downtown, but it is remarkably quiet and very restful. I am located in the upscale "Uptown" neighborhood, just east of downtown, in a working-class Victorian home (not elegant, but roomy, with character, lots of light and high ceilings). The common rooms (living room, dining room and kitchen) are available to guests for meeting space, or for just hanging out. In the summer, a large evaporative cooler and ceiling fans help keep the whole house cool. The small, fenced garden in back is a work in progress, with a small patio under the grape arbor, and the front porch is ideal for watching the world go by.
The house itself can accommodate up to 10 guests. I have several kinds of accommodations: queen bed in private room, double bed in private room, king bed for up to 3 people (best with small child or children) in private room, and large double sofa bed in living room for families or groups traveling together and who will book the queen bed room as well. There are other sleeping possibilities as well. Family/group rates are negotiable. The two bathrooms are shared. Two-night minimum stay preferred.
This particular room, the King Bed Room, is the largest and most comfortable room in my home. The mattress, topped with memory foam, is great! The bed is large enough to accommodate two to three adults, or two adults and a child. Although a bit cramped, it is also possible to bring in a trundle bed for another adult or child. The whole room is lovely, quiet, airy, with a spacious feel. The king room comes with two night tables, a chest of drawers, an oak roll-top desk, bookshelves, a table for luggage, a closet, a couple of chairs, with mostly South and Central American themes. This room is on the second floor of my home. The King Bed Room has direct access to the upstairs bathroom and laundry complex, which is shared with me, though we each have our own, separate access. The room is lockable.
I provide all bed linens and covers, pillows, towel sets, hair dryer, tissues, shampoo and conditioner, body wash and soap.
All taxes (totalling 14.75%) are included in the cost of each room, as are breakfasts. I charge a cleaning fee of $10 per room because of the need to sanitize everything a guest might touch or use, and to clean thoroughly before and after each guest's visit.
Some amenities in my home are Wireless Internet/WiFi, basic cable TV, baby grand piano, fully equipped kitchen and dining room, with Wedgewood china for dining, and all the fixings for a great breakfast, as you like it.
Very nearby are 4 grocery stores, from the basic to the gourmet; a number of liquor and fine wine stores; multiple coffee shops and some Internet cafes; Denver's many beautiful parks, and numbers of great and some renowned restaurants and eateries for breakfast, brunch, lunch, tea, dinner, and dessert. Churches, some beautiful and historical, abound, and many offer some of the most beautiful music and the most interesting services and dialogues around. Entertainment venues too are close by, from Brew Pub Tours to the Denver Performing Arts Complex, movie theaters and world-renowned book stores, excellent museums of all kinds and sizes, including the brand new Clyfford Still Museum, and our wonderful Denver Museum of Nature and Science and The Children's Museum. The gold-domed Colorado State Capitol, the Denver Public Library, the Denver Botanic Gardens, the Downtown Aquarium, and the ever-expanding Denver Zoo are easily reached. Most of these great amenities are within 2 to 3 miles of my home and can be easily accessed by foot or by public transportation (the RTD). The sheer number of great hang-outs of every kind is really astonishing. Denver is truly a Great City!
It is an easy 15-minute walk to downtown or less than 5 minutes to transportation throughout the city. My home is in a perfect location for a wide variety of Denver convention, dining, shopping, athletic, cultural, and entertainment experiences, for individuals and for families. You can avoid the high prices of Downtown, while enjoying all of its offerings just a few minutes away.
There is very easy access to major highways through Colorado. Come for the brilliance of the Colorado blue sky and sunshine and all the amenities that Uptown and Downtown Denver have to offer!
Supervised children are very welcome. Pets and smoking are not welcome.
Living room, dining room, kitchen, refrigerator (with advance planning), laundry room ($3.00 US for wash and dry), patio and porch areas in season.
Interaction with Guests
I generally have a great deal of interaction with my guests. I enjoy getting to know them and am available during the days and evenings. If the need arises, I am also here at night. If a guest prefers no or less interaction, that is fine.
If guests cook, guests clean up.
Very comfortable place to stay. My friend and I shared the king bed and it was large enough to accommodate both of us; we slept very well. Alexandra is very welcoming and made sure that we knew where to go for dinner and where the main tourist attractions in Denver are. The location is very good, next to "restaurant row" on 17th avenue in Denver. My friend and I were in town for a conference and we found this a relaxing home-away-from-home.
Alexandra was a wonderful hostess. My mom and I felt like we were staying with long lost family. She welcomed us and made our stay very comfortable. She had a breakfast buffet in the morning with homemade blueberry bread (so good!!) and fresh eggs from the chickens in her backyard! Plus she offered several kinds of teas, cereals, oats, coffee, jams and juices. There really was plenary to choose from, even foods for gluten free and vegan folks. This was actually the first time both my mom and I had done and airbnb, so we felt very lucky to have had sub a friendly hostess! Bed was comfortable, all the toiletries you could possible need were available in the bathroom. It was easy to find parking on her street and her home is in the heat if Denver. It was a 5 minute drive from great restaurants, shipping and the Denver Botanic Garden.
Alexandra was a very welcoming host. The bed was comfortable, the rook was clean and the location can't be beat. If you're looking for a friendly place to hang your hat while in Denver, you can't do better. I would definitely stay here again.
Alexandra was very nice and informative. We had a great stay at her place. It was a little bit awkward when she accused us for stealing toilet paper from her. Othervise, the location was great and it was really cozy to eat breakfast with her every morning.
Great location and great host! We appreciated Alexandra's hospitality as well as her many pointers on what to do and where to eat in Denver.
Colorado picturesque? Check. Denver a great city? Check. Alexandra's Accommodations? Exquisite. Alexandra as Host? NOT TOO MISS! If you want a great place to stay - near Downtown, clean, roomy, comfortable - than you MUST stay at Alexandra's! Not only is her home conveniently located and within walking distance of Downtown Denver, but she is an extraordinary host who will take phenomenal care of you. I was in Denver for both business and pleasure and Alexandra accommodated every need, including a late check-in and late check-out. Her home is a true bed and breakfast, and I cannot boast enough about her warmth, devotion to her guests, and sincerity in providing an incredible stay for all who come through her door. As a Denver native, she is well-versed on everything the city and beyond has to offer its visitors, whatever your interests may be. She is a wonderful conversationalist and is authentic in all interactions. She cares for her guests so much that she loaned all of her camping equipment to a couple from out of the country who stayed with her through a long weekend! I had the personal pleasure of enjoying a local activity and lunch with Alexandra, getting a bit more of a glimpse into her character and personality...she is everything everyone lists about her - a wonderfully kind, spiritual, giving individual with a wealth of positive attributes. Do yourself a favor, if you're passing through Denver for a day, a week, a...stay with Alexandra! Worth every penny and more? Check!
Alexandra provides a clean, welcoming atmosphere that put us right at ease upon arrival. Her first question: "have you eaten?" spoke to her attention to our needs and a desire to make us comfortable.
The King Room is huge, with a very comfortable bed, ample room for belongings, and quick access to kitchen and bathroom.
Breakfast food provided was wonderful - from delicious local fresh bread to her home-made peach jam, we were well-fed each morning.
Alexandra's home is well-situated for exploring downtown but avoiding the noise and traffic that accompany it. Downtown is walkable in 15 minutes, though it will take longer if you take her advice and stroll 2 blocks to 17th Avenue first - I challenge you to make it to downtown without a stop at Ace or one of the pubs on the way!
Alexandra's recommendations for quirky museums and area hiking were top-notch; we had an excellent experience with the help of her recommendations and helpful maps.
We will absolutely look her up again upon our next visit to the area. We highly recommend Alexandra and her home for your next trip through the area!

Denver native, former teacher, musician, chaplain. Spent 4 years in Bolivia and speak Spanish. I love my home and its location so close to everything. My neighborhood keeps growing upscale, but my home remains surprisingly quiet! My single family home is a true oasis in the city.
Seven wonderful grandchildren and their parents make my life a blessing.
I have really enjoyed welcoming and getting to know my guests from all over the world and the USA, and look forward to many more!
