Bedrock Homestead West End is in a private wing of Grant's shared custom cave home that he blasted from a free standing rock! The full cave rental is also available for total privacy, through Airbnb listing-Bedrock Full Cave. The cave's a fascinating work of art from which you'll enjoy a view of the Grand Staircase Monument. Grant lives here year-round hiking, farming and raising animals. Bedrock is a master example of sustainable living, with a seasonal blasted-out, nine-foot deep outdoor pool!

The space
You'll be sharing the cave with your host Grant, or cohosts. The temperature in the cave is regulated all year and feels warm in winter and cool in the summer. We are off-grid and use hydro electricity for power. The stay does require a four-wheel-drive for the last mile before reaching the cave. Sometimes musicians come through to jam in our Jam Room. We encourage you to bring instruments or join us!

Enjoy the serenity here. You'll be staying off-grid, away from noise and light pollution, for sunrise, sunset, or stargazing. You're welcome to hike on top of the house! Go a little further, to find beautiful vistas of the surrounding mountain ranges, slick rock country and beautiful Navajo sandstone domes.

Grant is a long-time homesteader located in southern Utah. Land activist, artist, farmer, lover-of-music and father, he blasted and carved his incredible sculpture house while raising his family. Originally, Grant learned to use dynamite gigging as a uranium miner during the short-lived, 2nd uranium boom in southern Utah in his early 20's. He muses that the rock house is like living inside of a sculpture in the carved-out space. Enthusiastic about pretty much everything, Grant loves to share his knowledge of the area and life stories over a beer or cup of coffee, and will certainly point you to some beautiful places.
