Taste wine at Duckhorn (1.5 miles away) or walk to Partridge Cellars (5 minute walk) then relax on our backyard patio and watch the quail roam around the yard while barbecuing or playing lawn games.
Built and 1934 and lovingly restored, this is the perfect home base for your wine tasting vacation. Within a few miles, you'll find world famous wineries like Duckhorn, Viader, Markham, St Clement, and countless others.
Our home offers two good-sized queen bedrooms, recently outfitted with higher end linens (like Pottery Barn). Brand new hardwood floors span through the living/dining area, into the bedrooms and kitchen.
With two queen beds, one full bath, and a sectional sofa, you'll fit 4-5 guests comfortably.
The kitchen has a gas stove top, new farmhouse sink, and all of the amenities you'd expect in a higher end kitchen (including an industrial size Kitchen Aid mixer).
The sunny breakfast nook is the perfect place to relax over a cup of coffee in the morning (send someone out for Model Bakery English muffins!) or game of cards at the end of the day.
The whole home is accessible, with the exception of the attic bedroom (beyond a locked door) and the storage basement.
There are handicap accessible ramps to both the front and back doors, however the shower is not wheelchair accessible.
There is a washer / dryer located in a laundry room off the kitchen for your convenience.
We will be readily available via mobile phone or text, likely 1.5 hours away at our residence in San Francisco.
The proximity to both downtown St Helena and Calistoga is fantastic - - not to mention being 1/2 mile from wineries like Duckhorn, which is a favorite place to taste wine (you have to check out the tastings they do on their back porch!)
The neighborhood is unique in that it feels as if you're in the middle of the countryside, but you're so close to everything. The street is quiet and you won't hear the road noise from Silverado Trail (although we're right off of it) or Highway 29 like other Napa properties experience.
The driveway could park 3-4 cars easily (in tandem). There is no real public transport in the area, but the wine train is fun :)
The property is fully fenced and has a flat, paved driveway which is perfect for small children riding bikes or scooters. We can provide booster seats, high chairs and/or a Pack n Play, upon request. We also have a child-sized Pottery Barn kids table in the open living area that seats 4+.
We are 1.5 miles from Duckhorn winery, 1.6 from Markham, Charles Krug and the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone and a five minute walk to Partridge Cellars.
We do have Uber in St. Helena and have used it often.
Other Things to Note
We have a neighbor, about a mile and a half away, that sells chicken eggs. It is a beautiful walk down a two lane road that we take a few times a month.
We kindly ask you not to use the premises in such a manner as to disturb the peace and quiet of others in the neighborhood. Also, we don't allow parties or events with loud amplified music or more than 8 guests. No smoking nor pets are allowed on the property.
Excellent get-away place!
Everything you need is in the house, the location is great and the garden is just absolutely perfect! Had a lovely couple of days enjoying the house and surrounding area.
Thanks to Chris and family!
Stunning house in an idyllic neighborhood. Everything was as advertised or better. We had one question and the host called back immediately to help.
The place is beautiful, quiet and has a great backyard with a creek running behind it.
If you're a runner or hiker, you can get to downtown St. Helena on foot, but there are no sidewalks for about half the distance.
The host spells this out in the packet, but to reiterate: Don't rely on GPS to get there. There are dead zones in the area. Print your directions!
The location is very nice. Just outside of town so you get a country feeling, but only about a 5 minute drive to restaurants, etc. You definitely get the farmhouse feel with modern amenities. The backyard area is a great place to hang out after a day of wine tasting. Recommended.
Chris was a terrific host and The Farmhouse could not have been in a better location. It's convenient to many vineyards and biking and walking is an absolute plus from here. The house was well appointed and sleeps 4 comfortably. There is only one bath so plan ahead and create a schedule and it's not too bad. The outdoor area is very relaxing and there are speakers that carry throughout the house. The kitchen is very functional and Chris was generous with staples and such. If you are looking for a quiet retreat that is close to St Helena and amazing vineyards, book it!
The stay was great. The farmhouse was as described and in a really convenient location. We didn't use the kitchen much but it was well stocked. Really close to St. Helena, nearby wineries and Meadowood. Chris was extremely prompt with information about the property and booking.
Great little house with everything you need to enjoy beautiful St. Helena in the heart of napa valley. Chris and Neil were very nice and had the house clean and ready for our short stay.
