Gabriga looked just like in the picture. He waited for us at the apartment and was very welcoming. Gabriga also provided us with maps of the City of Florence and gave us good suggestions of places to visit during our short stay in Florence. In general, Gabriga is very friendly and he loves to talk about art and philosophy. I would have loved to speak and understand Italian to know what he was saying in more detail. Gabriga's apartment is within a short walking distance of C. Marte train station, and also within walking distance to places like Plaza San Marcos, Puente Vecchio, La anunciata Church, etc
We enjoyed staying at his apartment, and would gladly recommend it to others.
The room is large and decorated artistically.
The bathroom is clean ,shower gel ,shampoo ,even hair conditioner are provided.
Gabriga is nice, and help us to to understand the Florence map, and use his wash machine.
There is no lift, if you take a big luggage ,maybe it's a little hard to go up and down stairs.
However, the breakfast is a little poor: milk, coffee, dry bread and biscuits from the supermarket with jams, the most simple breakfast in our trip, no fresh bread ,no butter or cheese. Maybe it's a good bed, but not a good enough B&B.
If you don't care the simple breakfast, it's a good place to stay.
Very friendly host and homely feel... Easy access and convenient.. Great way to learn Italian culture ;)... We had a fabulous time in Firenze.... Will come again next time...
Apartment - A very artistically decorated apartment. It was a very nice and comfortable stay in Gabriga's house.
The only drawback is that the house is on 3rd floor, and there is no lift.
Room - is again very well decorated as seen in the photos. It is quite big with a double bed and a single bed.
Bathroom - is external to the room (just outside), and is common between the 2 rooms in the house.
Host - Gabriga is very friendly and he helped us to understand the Florence map and the places to visit. He speaks English fairly well.
Breakfast - is a regular tea/coffee and biscuits/bread with jams.
Location - is very close to bus stops (across the street) which connects to historical centre in around 10 minutes. Nearest train station is just 5 minutes walk
Gabriga is really a cool artist. He is very nice and gave us a very detailed information to travel in Florence and even suggests us to travel Lucca where was not on our travel list but is really a nice place to go.
Our stay with Gabriga was very short, but his large flat was located very conveniently close to the old centre of Florence, and it was an ideal location for our one night stay. Gabriga was a great host, gave us brochures, and directions, and even offered to cook us a meal. The room was spacious and comfortable for three of us. I would recommend the Artist's House to anyone looking for a convenient location to the centre of Florence with a friendly host.
We absolutely LOVED our stay with Gabriga! First, his house is incredibly cool. He has all of his artwork set up around the house making it a super eclectic and fun space, and we always felt welcome and at home. Gabriga was so friendly and nice to us. One night he even made us a delicious dinner of broccoli pasta, snap peas, wine, cheese, and strawberries with lemon and sugar (yum!). We were in heaven! He was always available to come sit and chat with us, and he even taught us some Italian! He is very helpful with giving you instructions for how to get into the city and the location of his house is very close to the city center. If you are lucky enough to have the chance to stay with Gabriga in any of his rooms, take it! Make sure that you make an effort to get to know him and talk to him, because it will make your experience in Florence that much richer. Basically, Gabriga is the best! His house is clean, comfortable, eclectic, close to the city center, and a very welcoming place to stay. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!!
*One small piece of advice is to only follow Gabriga's instructions for how to get to his house. (website hidden)maps will send you to the wrong house!*
STAY WITH GABRIGA!! HE IS AMAZING!!
My stay at The Artist B&B was most enjoyable. Bus stops close by, train also. Lots of places to see on foot from there, very central. The room was comfortable and spacious. I really enjoyed my stay. Gabriga was helpful with maps and places to see. The art he has done is very interesting and unique. Interesting conversations, I would stay here again when I come back. Like a home away from home. Glad to have met Gabriga, grazie mille!
