Interaction with Guests
Normally I spend a good half hour to check-in of my guests, to present my B & B. I provide a map of the city, and explain all the paths to reach on foot or by minibus, places and museums.
Council, also the best places to eat, in addition to my kitchen.
A few meters from my B & B there are supermarkets stocked with the best Italian food specialties.
Via Gioberti, always very close, is the shopping street of Florence, where you can find everything from clothes, shoes, as well as handicrafts and jewelery.
A 10-minute walk, the famous street market of Sant'Ambrogio, with grocers and food stalls, and restaurants of all types, as well as new and used clothes.
At the entrance of my B & B is the bus stop 6 and other lines. This comes from the central station of Santa Maria Novella, but just 8 minutes' walk away is the second railway station of Florence (Field of Mars), linking, as well as SMN in all Italian cities and the province, such as Lucca , Pisa, Siena, Arezzo, Le Cinque Terre.
With city buses you can reach important places near the city, for example Fiesole and Piazzale Michelangelo.

Gabriele é un ottimo host...prima di tutto é stato molto veloce a rispondere alla richiesta di disponibilitá poi é stato gentilissimo nel accoglierci ...il quartiere é tranquillo e abbastanza vicino al centro!!!
Gabriga is really nice, I like him and his coffee is very good, he is a artist so many picture and photo around the house, but I think the photo is a little bit horrible, haha! However I enjoy with Gabriga so much
Hi Waiwai Vivian, you are beautiful and nice too and I like you because you have been direct in describing my photographic work. Mine, however, is not the taste of horror but a search on the drama of life and the human body in this world. Maybe it's time to open your eyes to the world and forget it for a moment the barbie of glossy magazines and look a bit 'the world around you. Good life :)
Buona vita :)
My boyfriend and I loved staying with Gabriga. His place is in a great location- walking distance to everything- but also just a really cool spacious apartment with interesting and beautiful art everywhere!
Gabriga was a wonderful friendly host and I would stay there anytime :)
Just make sure you use the link to get the map for the location. I just typed the address into (website hidden) (I'm silly) and it wasn't the right one!! Also, make sure you use the mosquito nets provided- they're not just for atmosphere!
The flat is interesting, full of paintings and artistic photos. Gabriga is a very nice and handsome gentleman, cooking coffee for us everyday. The building is quite old, thus heavy steps on the floor may make noise. It locates in a very quiet neighborhood.
My sister and I really enjoyed staying at Gabriga's place. Him and his nice son Giorgo were very kind and helpful with recommendations, and gave us a map of florence and pointed out the areas of interest. It was a very cool, artistic apartment and in a very pretty and quiet neighborhood. 15 mins walking to the city center. When we are in Florence again we will definitely stay here! Grazie Gabriga and Giorgo!
The listing description was accurate. The location was very centralized and I got to learn how to ride the bus. I am a low maintenance kind of gal but did not feel welcomed. The apartment was a 4th floor walk up which I knew and did not mind. However, after ringing the bell to gain entry into the building my host remained on the 4th level just outside his place looking down at me as I struggled upstairs with my bags. He offered no help. He was dressed very informally in a sleeveless undershirt, shorts and flip flops which kept me a bit unnerved. He showed me how to lock and unlock the door, walked me to the room, took my passport to photocopy I guess and collected 3 euros tax to cover the euro a day tax requirement I was unaware of. All in my first 10 minutes there.
All told, there were three men and me in the apartment with 2 bathrooms. Not comfortable. One of the men was a guest and the other was the host's son who did the language translation since Gabriga does not speak English. I am not good with ages but the son appeared to be in his early 20's. Very sweet spirit.
The room itself was nice but also home to mosquitoes. The netting over the beds in the photo are not artistic props but utilitarian and meant to separate the sleeper from the bugs. Had I realized that once I was there I would have wrapped myself in the netting as I walked about the room. If I'd realized that in advance, of course I would not have selected this particular stay.
For a guy visiting on business who wants an inexpensive, no frills, centrally located spot, this is great. For this woman traveling alone I was too uncomfortable to strip down to take a shower so I bird bathed it the entire time I was there. I never relaxed. Maybe that's just me but that's how it was. I would have said goodbye but it was 7 am when I left and I did not want to disturb anyone.
Dear Allegra, given that I do not know the age of my guests before they arrive, so I could not imagine that you had difficulty climbing the three floors (three floors, not four)... however, I came down to meet you and I brought you the I suitcase that was not so heavy. According to my accurate description is specified that we are on the third floor of an old building that has no elevator, as well as "porters" are no longer present even in hotels, but I've never refused to help my guests who have asked me help to carry on luggage, although I have serious back problems.
If you had read my presentation would have also found the part that explains the needing to pay TAX (1 euro per person per day) that you pay to the municipality of the city and in all structures registered. Only those unauthorized do not make you pay the tax.
The nature of the B & B's original is to enter the house as in a family, then you can not expect to be received in suit, tie, and shoes, and criticize me wearing the "flip-flops" seemss to me an unnecessary criticism, made with the sole purpose of damaging me.
You have been accepted as all other people. You have been presented the apartment and how its “how to”. You have been given a map and you have been explained all the important points of the city. You asked how to get into the city of Fiesole and you have been explained how to get there. You did not have the socket for charging your mobile phone and I have given my personal one.
You've been sick on the first night, because as you told you have had an allergic reaction to foods eaten out of our b & b and we asked you if you needed a doctor.
We have offered the possibility of breakfast - which is included in the price - and you refused.
You had two bathrooms available: of course you have the key to close and take a shower in complete tranquility, then your complaints do not make any sense, and, besides, during your stay you have not had anything to say about it.
Finally, on the last night, you got home and went straight into the room, with us in the house, without disclosing the time of your check-out.
Then in the morning at 8:00 am I saw that the room had been abandoned, without leaving a note of greetings. This action is a sign of great rudeness and marks your incompatibility to live or take advantage of the true B&B’s spirit.
Our B & B is well-known in the community of AIRBNB just for the relationship established with our guests and for the more than 250 positive reviews.
Sometimes, actually rarely, it happens to have defeatists guests, who nitpicks about anything, such as mosquitoes… mosquitoes could be there, they are present in all cities, as in the countryside. To overcome this issue, I have provided the beds with a mosquito net and I provide mosquito electric plate, even a electric racket to get rid of them without smashing them on the wall. We couldn’t do more than this to make our guest enjoying their time in our great rooms.
If you were not comfortable sure was not dependent on the location that hosted you, but on the reasons already mentioned.

Artista visivo.
Gabriele Pellegrini, born 1959 in Ruvo, Bari, has lived and worked in Florence since 1979 where he attended l’ISIA, l’istituto Superiore per l’Industrial Design. He graduated with a thesis entitled, “The World of Packaging: Predesign for a Project on Business Communication within the System of Mass Communication”
Rather than the “logical” immobility of industrial design, he prefers the risk and freedom of the design of theatrical scenography. From (phone number hidden) he worked with architect and set designer Stefani Battaglia. Together, they designed scenography and costumes for theater and dance, multivision works, installations, and video installations, collaborating with companies and organizations of national and international importance.
At the same time, he has continued his personal research on the phenomenology of perception using the photographic language, but not exclusively; his first exhibition is already an installation. He creates combinations particularly agreeable with his “multimedia expressiveness,” achieved with his work in photographic installations in both natural and developed locations.
For ten years he has also worked with photography of scenography. Especially active and appreciated his theatric experimentations, he has photographed for Socíetas Faffaello Sanzio (Cesena) which has recently published a photographic book Epitaph that contains images of the company’s productions for the last twenty years, Fabbrica Europa (Firenze), Fondazinoe Sipario Toscana (Cascina), Teatro delle Donne (Firenze), Kripton (Scandicci), Opera Giovani in Europa di Aldo Tarabella, La fabbrica dell’Attore (Roma), La Zattera di Babele (Roma), Simone Carella (Roma), Sylvano Bussotti (Firenze), Luigi Cinque (Roma), Compagnia Virgilio Sieni (Firenze), Compagnia Marinella Salerno (Firenze), Associazione Culturale Danza Arbus (Firenze), Balleto di Toscana (Firenze), Pino Minafra (Ruvo), Alcatel (Milano), Teatro della (Limonaia Sesto Fiorentino), Tempo Reale (Firenze), etc.
Both his photographs for these companies and those of his installations have been published in visual art, dance and theater books as well as in Italian and foreign newspapers.
The first installation, EPILOGO-Fotofonie, (each image was given its own sound), was presented in 1993 in Florence at the Galleria Container and in 1994 in Prato at the Galleria Dry Photo in and again in Florence for Ecosfera at the Fortezza da Basso.
The installation, on the subject of environmental pollution, presented the images and sounds of the debris of our daily consumption: “sopravvivenze di oggetti disperse sui bordi della terraferma, quasi escrescenze biologiche, prossimi all’armonia nell’angusto ritaglio dello spazio”
The second installation, ARITIMIE-Fotofonie, was presented in Ruvo, Puglia in the field of Talos Festival ’95: “La melodia-la ricerca-la follia.” It was also presented in Florence at Stazione Leopolda for Fabbrica Europa ’95: “Il disordine delle arti.”
The works in the Aritimie series were also displayed in the gallery “La mente e l’immagine di Roma,” and at “Cardillac” in Florence.
“ARTIMIE” involves itself in the idea of visual, contemporary pollution from a propagandist system geared toward “the masses” to the universal languages of advertisement communication written and transferred via products. The result achieved over the course of fifty years of “excess” and “hammering” for the erasure of different sociological, ethnic and religious realities has brought about a vertical drop in the quality of the sign and the degradation of cultural identity.
The works are born of the study of common packaging. In the research, the sign of artificial materials is set against the signs of natural elements that become, today each in turn, “products of mass consumption.”
Through “mental” manipulation and the repetitive speculation of images, the “insignificant coded” becomes the “significant uncoded,” stimulating those processes tendentiously favorable for the recovery of the truly imaginary.
For ‘Apre’ in February 2000 (the first Florentine exhibition dedicated to ecological and biotechnological problems) at Stazione Leopolda in Florence, he installed on a steel wall six meters high and twelve meters long a series of recent, large-scale works, resulting from research on photography and digital pictures, a preview of the interactive installation project “Corpi. Sembianze del Tempo.”
The works of the series “Corpi. Sembianze del Tempo” intensify the already commonly-held certitude of the invasion of the artificial into the depths of the body. This invasion is, in one sense, having to put up with violence, and in another sense like a gift of membership to the system through the manipulation of the flesh and mind.
Bodies. At the end, identity is always in suspension. Under the investigation of the stare, recorded, in the attempt to find the threshold and go beyond the common place of representation.
The works open, therefore, at the visionary crossroads that occupy the space of memory and divination.
In February 2001 in Bari, at Teatro Kismet OperA he presents a photographic retrospective dedicated to Societas Raffaello Sanzio entitled “Corpi.” The suggested images are digitally enhanced photographs that come from the photographs taken during the representations of “Amleto, Orestea, Giulio Cesare, Voyage au bout de la nuit, Genesi, Il Combattimento.”
In Prato, the exhibit becomes an installation that creates an interaction between the works dedicated to “Corpi” for Raffaello Sanzio with “Corpi contrafatti” of some of his recent digital work and takes advantage of the atmosphere and the sliding hooks on the snaking platforms of the butcher’s workrooms in the ex-butchery, now Cantieri Culturali dell’Officina Giovani.
The project was created in collaboration with l’Assessorato alla Cultura and Teatro Metastasio (from March 14 through April 8, 2001).
In Florence, for Fabbrica Europa 2002 mito d’Europa e identitá contemporanea, his installation exhibition entitled “La voix du corps” viaggio nel mondo della Socíetas Raffaello Sanzio was unveiled in the main aisle of Stazione Leopolda. It presents on an inclined stage a series of other new works.
