Lakeside vintage lodging in a poshly appointed 1972 camper, just six miles from Folly Beach five miles from downtown Charleston! The 28' camper is on almost one acre with our home at the front of the property. This vintage gem is situated on a little lake, with lots of trees, creating a private oasis with modern conveniences and ease of access to many area attractions. Enjoy a unique opportunity to have a vintage camper experience, while partaking in all this area has to offer!

The space
***PLEASE read listing in its entirety to make sure this unique space is a good fit for your needs. ***

See more photos on our social media pages! (@follyjameshappycampers) The camper is an easy drive to many local attractions. (Please refer to the general map of the area before booking to insure this is a good location for your needs.) The camper can accommodate two people and offers an option of two single beds or a full bed. All beds are firm mattresses, and include lots of pillows, and beautiful, cozy bedding a plenty. This is a 1972 vintage camper in all her patina glory, which is super charming (not to be confused with new and shiny.) Lots of amenities! Please see the list in the description to help with you with packing. Enjoy vintage camping with modern conveniences, such as heat, AC, hot water, bathroom, fridge, kitchen, etc. Now that is camping!

Ask about our add-ons, including organic Happy Camper eggs, and organic Happy Camper grown seasonal greens.

Charleston businesses are going single use plastic free and we are on board! We are proud to offer a low-waste glamping experience! This means you have access to a composter, access to locally sourced, organic breakfast options, reusable shopping bags, access to local, sustainable products in the camper for your use, a clothesline upon request, and more!

Do note- there is no WiFi, but we do have cell service. An awesome opportunity to un-plug “just enough.”

Guest access
Guests have the entire camper and access to the camper area of the backyard. The camper sits on the back of almost an acre lot with our home at the front of the yard.

Other things to note
Camper Etiquette:
Please,
-Only guests who were on the original reservation.
-Two guest maximum, no additional visitors please.
-Parking is suitable for one vehicle only.
-Only guests over the age of 12 due to open water access on the property. (This includes infants/little ones.)
-Suitable for humans only. No animals.
-No smoking or vaping on the property (includes camper, as well as anywhere on the property).
-Turn off air/heat/electrical appliances before leaving the camper. The camper will heat or cool quickly upon your return due to the efficiency of the space.
-Quiet hours after 9pm and before 8am due to residential area.
-Check in time is 4PM - 8PM.
-Check out is 11AM.

Potential for noise:
Commuter traffic is heard at the front of the property during high commute times. The backyard feels highly private because of the large size of the yard and the heavy greenery. There is hardly any traffic at night.

Heat/Air-conditioning:
The camper has both! Please note, the ac runs constant in the camper, rather than setting a thermostat. If you don’t like white noise, you can certainly crank it when you get to the camper and due to the efficient size of the camper, it won’t take long to cool it and then when you turn it off, it will maintain its cool temp. Or if white noise does not bother you, then no worries! Just something to note!

Water Use in the Camper:
Yes, the camper has hot water, a toilet, and shower! Because this is a camper, all toilet water and grey water is held in tanks under the camper and then emptied once they are full. To minimize interruptions to your stay by having them pumped out often, please minimize water usage in the camper, ie short showers, minimizing flushing, etc are helpful in not filling up tanks. Please note, the shower is small, as to be expected, as the camper is 28 feet. Folks who are over 6 feet in height should note that.

Linens:
All linens/towels/beach towels are provided.

Stovetop/Cooking Options/Refrigerator:
We provide a hot plate, toaster oven, electric frying pan, and electric tea kettle for your cooking needs, which we have found to be more efficient and easier than the existing stove. (Note- the existing stove/oven is not in use.) Be sure to let us know if you need something else in order to accommodate your cooking needs. There is also a fridge in the camper.

Extra Amenities:
Bathroom: All towels, beach towels, face wipes, body wash, soap, toilet paper, lotion, and bug spray.

Bedding: Pillows, extra pillows, all bedding, and extra blankets.

Kitchen: Pots/pans, cups, wine glasses, plates, coffee cups, coffee filters, bowls, silverware, knives, paper towel, cooking utensils, garlic powder, salt, pepper, olive oil, dish soap, all purpose cleaner.

Extras:
Camping card games
“Beach” novels and all sorts of local reads!
Outdoor table/chairs
Two beach chairs
