Eric is a great host, a couple of days after our arrival he came to give us some advices on what could be useful in the neighborhood. He also provided us with additional sheets per our request.
We had no surprises - the living room is big enough with a gas heating, the kitchen is really big and well equipped. There is a door from the kitchen to the backyard so you can enjoy it anytime. No bad smells, everything is clean, if you need something just message Eric.
We also like the area - very close to Alamo square, calm and nice. Bus #21 will take you to the downtown in 20 minutes.
Unfortunately our experience fell FAR below our expectations, given the description, pictures and especially the price of this listing.
We had to cancel our stay and leave a week earlier than planned due to a flea problem in the apartment. My partner and I both had flea bites over our body. We had to wash all our belongings upon leaving and organise last minute accommodation.
We have only been refunded for a very small fraction of the loss we incurred by not seeing out our stay.
On top of this, the host was very rude to us upon the discovery of the flea problem and blamed us for bringing fleas into the apartment.
N.B. There are dogs that live in this building.
I would NOT recommend staying here to anyone.
Katy from the start complained. She claimed that the sheets and towels were not clean (They were clean of course), she asked for new pillows and I gave her some right away. All went well until after 26 days in the apt, she then claimed that they were bed bugs or fleas in the apt. She decided to check out and move to her permanent apt that she had found to live in SF longterm. I suspect she wanted to check out early to move into her new place early and get a refund for the days overlapping. As far as bugs or fleas, they were none (other than 6 bugs she strategically placed on 16 square inch of bed sheet on the bed). After she left, I had the apt inspected and no bugs/fleas were found. It's been 2 weeks already since the new guests (4 women from Sweden) moved in and they are very happy (Of course, no bugs were ever found). Katy was a nice person but her false claims about the apt were a bad note.
Airbnb was the referee as far as deciding the refund amount.
The reservation was canceled 28 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The apartment is in a nice location, easy to get to San Francisco downtown, the neighbourhood has all needed services included several restaurants. It is also easy and nice to go to walk or run to Golden Gate Park.
Everything worked very well with Eric. He replied quickly to all messages. The apartment has good set up for up to 4 to 6 people. It was easy to organize access to the apartment when we arrived. The apartment has also a kitchen where it is good to prepare food. I can recommend this especially for people who need a good location to sleep, prepare food and work (WiFi, access to downtown) or spend holiday.
Eric was a very helpful host and the appartment was well located, close to bus and BART lines that made getting around easier. We had a few problems with plumbing when we were there but Eric was helpful in getting them fixed.
This is a nice choice. Only one problem is car parking
(the garage is not easy to use).
