Hi ... I hope I can be your host and offer a great experience staying in my city centre apartment! Recently awarded 'Excellence' by Tripadvisor!
Please note this apartment is my home - it is not an empty sterile apartment - if you are looking for such a location - better to pay the higher rates elsewhere .... otherwise i really hope i can welcome you to my home which you will have sole use of!
l check my email constantly and endeavour to reply to all emails very promptly as I know it helps you plan ... PLEASE CONTACT ME TO CONFIRM AVAILABILITY BEFORE YOU SEND A BOOKING REQUEST ... Thanks!
This listing is for my entire apartment which consists of two double bedrooms and two large comfortable double couchbeds in the livingroom - accommodating a maximum of eight guests - though usually I say 6 with comfort! You also have a well equipped kitchen, a large comfortably furnished living room with flat screen TV, satellite channels including Sky Sports and Movies and a long balcony with great views of Dublin city centre and the Four Courts!
People book through airbnb to get local information and a friendly welcome in your host's home rather than a neutral sterile apartment - when you book the whole apartment you will be free to enjoy it solely but the warm welcome is still offered!
I provide basic breakfast items for you for the first morning - there are many supermarkets within a few minutes' walk with a corner store at my building!
These accommodations are also listed separately: Dublin centre home from home rooms 3 & 4 and Dublin centre couchbed B.
There is a nice bathroom with shower and bath and room 4 also has an electric shower.
If you are not looking to rent the entire apartment please check individual listings for availability as often some of the rooms will be available ...
I am 4 minutes walk from the Luas (tram) Red line which is a direct link to the National Convention Centre but I am within very easy walking distance of anywhere in the city centre!
Please check the availability of each listing I offer on it's calender as they can differ ..... thanks! - its always worthwhile to message me anyway ... as I can sometimes have availability at the last minute!
If you would like any hints on what to do around Dublin or indeed in planning an itinerary around just get in touch! I also love history and have a keen interest in photography and am happy to point you towards some Dublin gems!
It's nice to know who might be coming to stay so if you can please fill me in just a little on your group and your overall travel plans!
I live in Dublin city centre in Smithfield just 10 mins walk from the heart of Dublin and it's principal 'boulevard' O'Connell Street and the cool social/bar/restaurant quarter - Temple Bar.
In addition there is a host of shops/restaurants/bars located just steps from your Dublin home from home - see the gallery of pics for some cool places at your doorstep!
I have a lot of experience in hosting people and showing people my city – I love talking about recent irish history and my apartment looks onto the Four Courts building – one of the many historical buildings in Dublin! I can leave you to your own schedule or am happy to suggest good things to do and see, both in Dublin and in the surrounding countryside and beyond .... from galleries and museums to shopping to country / historical walks – just ask – I am happy to point you in the right direction – Dublin awaits you!
There are many tourist attractions such as Jameson Distillery and National Museum, Collins Barracks along with the famous Cobblestone Bar, renowned for irish music and a good pint of Guinness, right at your doorstep! Just across Dublin's principal river, the Liffey, is St. James' Gate - home of Guinness since 1759!

We had a wonderful time staying at Rory's apartment! It is not right in the heart of downtown (which I could imagine would get quite noisy), but it was an easy walk to anywhere we wanted to go. The tram was close by, but we never took advantage since the walk was never too far to get to where we needed to go. The apartment itself was spacious enough for our group of 4. It had everything we needed, but as mentioned in the description, don't expect a hotel. It (email hidden)d in apartment, but clean nonetheless.
Rory himself was an excellent host. When we first arrived, he sat down with us and a map of Dublin to give us his expert knowledge of the sites, restaurants, and pubs. He helped us figure out what was on our "must do" list and what we could put on a "maybe" list. He also arranged for a taxi to take us back to the airport, which was very helpful.
great place, really clean house and plenty of space.
We were 6 and we had great time.
Rory is an amazing host super helpful -he helped to sort out our car parks-
thank you Rory and see you soon!!!
Great place to stay! Rory was very helpful and made us feel right at home.
Rory was an extremely accommodating host! He was very communicative about everything and gave us advice on getting to and from his place as well as things to do in the evenings. He even set up our cab for us in the morning! The apartment was perfect for Dublin accommodations. For four people traveling all over, it was very convenient to be able to do laundry as well. The beds were comfortable and relaxing. He had towels and everything we needed set out for us - even power converters! It was a wonderful stay!
Accueil chaleureux,appartement confortable.
Logement bien place dans la ville.
Rory was a great host, was really helpful and had a lot of great tips for us. We had a wonderful time in Dublin and hope to stay here again!
Rory was a great host. He set us up in a larger apartment than we had originally booked since we had so much luggage between the 6 of us! He also took the time to look for a fleece we had misplaced during our travels. The apartment was in good condition and was a great location for our walking tour of Dublin. We ate at two of his restaurant suggestions, both of which were very good. Thanks Rory!
We had a very good experience staying here. The flat is really nice and in a central location. Rory is a great host, he gave us some really excellent tips about what to do and see in Dublin and he was always available for everything. We would choose the same flat next time - we recommend it! Enjoy Dublin :-)
We really enjoyed our stay in Rory's apparment! We were greatly received by Rory with a lot of useful information about Dublin, the appartment contained everything you need to recover from all the highlights Dublin has to offer!
The short story: This was my first time on Airbnb; Rory was a great host that made visiting Dublin an easy ride. He was always quick to respond to emails and calls, and had helpful suggestions for things to do throughout our stay. He even organised a taxi from the flat back to the airport with a friend of his, which cost about €10 less than a normal cab!
Location: The location of Rory's apartment is perfect; It's about 500m from the river, and you can see the Four Courts from the balcony. Dublin itself is very walkable, so even getting to Harcourt Street (near the southern peripheral road) took less than half an hour from the flat.
Apartment: The apartment itself is spacious (especially the living room area), and everything is functioning (electric shower with hot water, heating, washing machine, tumble dryer, kettle, toaster, fridge). Rory had also been kind enough to leave plenty of towels, and breakfast essentials (corn flakes, tea bags, bread, milk) which was hugely appreciated.
I visited with three others, but the apartment could have comfortably accommodated six (two in each double bed).
I'd definitely recommend staying at Rory's place, I definitely would if I were to travel to Dublin again!
