About this listing
100+ year old farm house surrounded by farms and cattle located outside of Bowling Green, KY.
Welcome to our Kentucky farm house. Tedde and I bought our home in March of 2013 when it was in much need of work and repair and have been lovingly renovating the home and property ever since. Located on top of a hill, surrounded by farm and cattle land, our home's setting is very quiet and serene. Spend time rocking on the porch or sitting under shade trees in our outdoor spaces and enjoy the slow pace of Kentucky life. Inside you will be greeted by an eclectic and colorful home that is clean and comfortable. Though there are still many projects in the works, we believe that any guest who is understanding of renovating older homes, will feel quiet at home. The guest bedroom is located on the second floor and has a full size bed. There is also a pull out queen sized sofa bed available and another bedroom with a queen sized bed that may be available, but to rent 2 bedrooms must be negotiated. There is a shared bathroom downstairs that has a clawfoot soaking tub (bath and handheld shower). We also have a portable outdoor water heater and privacy tent for the adventurous guest who may want an outdoor shower. During blackberry season you may eat as many blackberries as you can pick.
RV Guests - We can provide electrical and water. No sewage hook up. We have a couple of places to park your RV with nice views. *$20 per night.
Campers - Pitch a tent. We still provide breakfast and bathroom facilities. *$15 per night.

30 minutes from downtown Bowling Green where you will find the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center, Bowling Green Hot Rod's stadium, Lost River Cave and 25 minutes from the National Corvette Museum.
An hour and 15 minutes from downtown Nashville, TN and an hour and 55 minutes to Louisville, KY.
Interaction with Guests
As hosts, we like to be friendly and inviting. We enjoy interacting with our guests, but also allow as much privacy as possible. Megan works second shift hours and, depending on guests schedules, may arrive home after guests are already in bed. Tedde cooks breakfast every morning. We typically serve bacon, eggs, and toast or quiche, but can accommodate special requests, if made in advance.
Our "neighborhood" consists primarily of farmers and cattle. You can see neighbor's homes down the road, but there are no other homes immediately next to ours. Down the road is a local gun store called "Cheek Brothers".
There is no public transportation in this area.
Other Things to Note
We are currently working on getting central air installed in our home, however, in the meantime, the guest bedroom has a window unit. We find that this typically keeps guests comfortable, if not cool at night. On cooler nights we like to keep the windows open and let the fresh air come in through the screens.
Smoking outdoors only. There are 2 indoor cats, a outdoor barn cat, and a border collie lab mix dog at this home. We work hard to keep our home clean, but guests with allergies may find this is not the home for them. Guests with pets are allowed, but need to notify the host to work out details.
Megan and Tedde were fantastic! They were welcoming and their house is adorable. Our room was cozy and comfortable and breakfast was amazing. The views were beautiful, but the stars at night took the cake. We will definitely stay again the next time we are in town.
If you are in beautiful southwestern Kentucky, this is a wonderful house to stay in. We had a little difficulty finding the house as it was starting to get dark. Call ahead to make sure you have the right directions. Tedde and Megan have been renovating a great old farm house and it was fun to stay there. This was one of the loveliest countrysides I saw on my trip. The views from the house are great. Tedde fixed a quiche breakfast to send us on our way. He even played a board game with us the night we arrived. Megan was working and came home late so I didn't have a chance to get to know her better. I would stay here again if I ever get the opportunity.
My family and I stayed with Megan and tedde over labor day weekend. We arrived kind of late on Friday night but was welcomed with open arms by the both of them. We stayed up and all chit chatted and was entertained by our 4 yr old, whom Megan and tedde both were very patient with. Tedde cooked up a yummy quiche the following morning and we than ventured off to mammoth cave national park. The home was not only clean but very comfortable and relaxing. We will def stay here again when we do this trip again!!!
Tedde, and his beautiful home were exceptionally warm and welcoming. If I'm in the area again, I'd be sure to look up this wonderful listing.
Megan and Tedde were great hosts. I enjoyed my stay greatly! I was looking to stay somewhere quiet and off the beaten path, and their home was perfect for this!
The room was very comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely stay at Megan and Tedde's again!
Our time with Megan and Tedde were great. They were hospitable and welcoming. Tedde made us breakfast and we enjoyed good conversation in the evening.
